The staff at this care home take excellent care of my mother. She is always dressed in clean clothes that are her own clothes and she is clean and well presented. The activities that are provided keep her well stimulated and interested in taking part with whatever is planned! The photographs are lovely
to see up on the board when we visit. Her bedroom is always spotless and not too hot. We as a family feel reassured that our mother is safe, cared for and happy in the home that we chose for her to live in. Big thank you to all the staff

Cedar Grange is a beautiful care home. The residents all seem well cared for.
There are also activities arranged for them including exercise sessions and crafts.
We are very happy with the care that my Dad receives at Cedar Grange. He is very well looked after and always seems happy.
.The staff are
really helpful and friendly.
We are pleased that we can visit at anytime of the day and don't have to make an appointment like some of the care homes we looked at!

I cannot write a poor enough review of this care home. My dad spent a short amount of time here last year, and whilst the nursing staff were great, they were overworked/understaffed. After an initial consultation visit and accepting my dad (who has dementia) I had high hopes... things went downhill
quickly.
They failed to recognise my dads UTI condition and as a result he was difficult to deal with. Rather than diagnosing/helping, they called the police on him as well as trying to charge additional 1-2-1 costs even though there was nobody actually looking after him 1-2-1 when I visited. Within a week of entering the home I was receiving threatening phone calls from the management/owner of the care group informing me I had 48hrs to get my Dad out of the home - this was in direct breach of the contract they had laid out which stated 7 days notice. Avoid.. nothing against the staff, but disgraceful behaviour from the owners.

We are surprised to have received this review, as it has been nine months since your father left us, and we had not received a complaint from you at the time. We understand how important it is for our families to feel totally confident about the care we provide, and having achieved a Carehome rating of over 9.7 for the last 12 months, we feel that we provide an excellent care home facility. We are sorry that the placement for your father was not successful; it was clearly not the right facility for him, and we must prioritize the safety of our residents and staff. We remain dedicated to delivering exceptional care and transparency. If you need any more information or help, please do not hesitate to contact us directly.

My mother entered Cedar Grange in October 2024 with both mobility difficulties and vascular dementia. Initially, she found it difficult to settle, but the professionalism and caring staff quickly resolved the problem. She has made friends with some of residents and joined the activities. The most impressive
feature is the rapid response to any health issues.

Initially I received a phone call from one member of staff after an information request about the care home. She put my mind at ease and invited me to look round the care home. I met her and was shown a bedroom and all the facilities that were available. I felt at ease and the member of staff answered
all m6 questions. On the day when my mum went in I was very apprehensive and nervous. It went very smoothly. The team were excellent and we sorted mums room out so that it was a home from home whilst my mum and dad had a coffee in the kitchen. As we went to leave the staff member took my Mother to a group and we left feeling that this was the right choice.

There are often events arranged which are lots of fun and bring enjoyment. To everyone. Over Christmas and for his recent birthday,
I was given use of the conservatory to being bring friends and family to celebrate the occasions. All the staff are brilliant.

Mum was sent to Ash Croft House from Aintree Hospital.
The care Mum received was phenomenal. Nothing was too much trouble. Everybody was caring and gave the absolute best care possible.
Mum was poorly throughout the 6 months she was at Ash Croft House. Whenever I left Mum I felt she was in safe
hands and it certainly alleviated the stress I was under, Mum passed away just before Christmas, but in the 6 months she spent there she was treated with respect and love.

Woodlands Manor EMI Care Home

My sister-in-law has been a resident at Woodlands Manor for approximately six months now. She was initially placed there because she was having difficulty living on her own. At first, she found it difficult to settle in there. But, as the time passed by, she is now more contented and happier to be there.
That is down to the dutiful care and attention all the staff have given her whilst she has been there. This has come as a surprise to my wife and I as she has always been a fiercely independent person. No praise is too high for the staff at Woodlands Manor. None more so than the manager who is totally dedicated to ensuring the residents are treated to the highest standards of safeguarding and personal welfare.

Dad has only been at Woodlands for a couple of months but he has been welcomed completely and has settled in very well. He seems happy to be at Woodlands, and is well looked after. He complains that there is too much food to eat, which is a first! The manager has gone out of her way to ensure that Dad
receives all the care and attention that he needs. This was especially evident as my dad had a safeguarding issue in place when he first arrived at Woodlands, and the manager ensured that the safeguarding plan was maintained. I can't tell you how much peace of mind this gave the family. My mum is in a care home nearby which belongs to the same group. The manager and her team escort my dad to visit her each week, which is really lovely and much appreciated by the whole family. Thanks Manager and the whole team at Woodlands.

I was recently contacted by the care home manager to arrange a meeting to discuss Nan's current care needs. The meeting went really well and we were able to prioritise Nan's needs and work out objectives to make sure Nan remains fit and healthy. The care home has also been great at informing me of upcoming
hospital appointments and arranging travel and a carer to attend the appointments with my Nan. This leaves me not having to worry about taking time away from work to attend hospital appointments. Nan remains happy and content in the home and I am more than happy with the efforts that the team always go to to meet my nan's needs. It was really nice to see that the seating area outside the manager's office has been so nicely decorated for the residents. It is so bright and colourful and a lovely place for Nan to sit and socialise.

My wife and I have known this lady for over 50 years. She was always very talkative but since she has developed Alzheimer's her personality has changed. She seems to be well cared for at Winscombe Hall and the staff that we have met are very helpful. She is always clean and her room is tidy. The only
negative comment is that her room is at the lack of the house with a view of a brick wall. Winscombe Hall is an old property with interesting features, it's a shame that it is so far away making it difficult for visitors.

Mum has settled in quickly and is happy and well cared for. She is always clean and her hair is styled. Mum has lovely clothes and they are well looked after too.
The staff are absolutely amazing, warm, friendly and kind. It feels like family already! The staff know Mum's fun, loving, sociable personality
and she enjoys the activities and the time the staff spend with her.
Cedar is always clean and tidy as is Mum's room. The facilities at Cedar are brilliant the pub, shop, cafe and the decking is a lovely feature overlooking the nursery. The dining room overlooks the lovely gardens. The visitor's conservatory is gorgeous, stocked with drinks. Visitors can enjoy a drink in the pub too!

Woodlands Manor EMI Care Home

from Michael C (Husband of Resident) published on 6 August 2024
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

On Wednesday afternoon, the 17th of July 2024 I drove down to Woodland Manor to celebrate my wife's seventy-eighth birthday. On entering the care home I observed that there was no sign of any birthday celebration preparations. We were then approached by the deputy manager who made enquiries about our
birthday party preferences and wishes for her birthday celebration. And we elected to have it in the kitchen room at three o'clock.
I entered the kitchen alone to make a cup of coffee for her and found the staff extremely busy setting out a large white tablecloth; with a huge birthday cake in the centre of the table. With my wife's name in wonderful pink icing. All the staff were busy putting birthday decorations around the room. They were working hard, doing a wonderful job making a 'my wife's style' birthday party celebrations. The cook entered the room and enquired if the cake with the pink-iced name of my wife upon it was okay? Which it was! A marvellous cake of a large, square design and covered with birthday candles.
I got my wife settled in the kitchen and sitting at the head of the large table. The deputy manager lit all the candles on the birthday cake. And with a little more effort got my reluctant and confused wife to blow out the candles and make a birthday wish, wish a helping 'puff and blow' of directed breath from myself.
All the residents and staff sang happy birthday to her, raising their glasses to toast her on her seventy-eighth birthday. Assistant manager produced a large, decorate knife for my wife to cut her birthday cake, which she did with some assistance from me. It then became too noisy for her and she became confused and distraught then standing up from her chair, she made movement to leave the room and birthday party.
I took her into the quiet dining room to get her settled leaving the staff and residents in the kitchen room to cut, distribute and eat the birthday cake and enjoy the birthday party.
The home manager walked into the dining room to ascertain the reason for my wife's absence from the main birthday party, and also to present her with a lovely birthday card from herself and all the care home staff. A member of staff brought three portions of birthday cake into the dining room for us to eat. We sang happy birthday to her before and after eating our slice of birthday cake and she slowly recovered her good humour.
I cannot thank enough; the Woodland Manor care staff, the deputy manager whose attention to detail and who organised and controlled the attentive staff, the senior cook who made such a wonderful birthday cake, and who then enquired if it was satisfactory, which of course in was for the proof was in the eating of the birthday cake, for not a crumb remained on the empty plate. Also the home manger who walked into the empty dining room to ascertain the reason for my wife's absence from the main birthday party, for my wife suffers from vascular dementia, becomes confused and overwhelmed during noisy events. Then in the quiet of the dining room, gaining her full attention, the manager presented my wife with a lovely birthday card from herself and all the staff of Woodland Manor. It was a wonderful day and a marvellous birthday party, under the difficult condition due to her poor mental health, all made possible by all the staff of Woodland Manor. Thank you all.
