Course Aims:
This eLearning course aims to refresh and enhance your knowledge and understanding about medication administration in your work role. It is relevant for you if you are working within a domiciliary care service or are providing a service to an individual within their own home.
Please note: The completion of this eLearning module does not prove your competence to administer medication. You must undertake additional face-to-face training to enable you to administer medication to individuals.
This course begins with an introduction to the common abbreviations used in the administration of medication and how to perform simple drug calculations.
You will learn about the legislation and regulations relevant to medication administration including how medication should be stored, administered and disposed of.
You will also explore the routes of medication administration; the purpose of 15 groups of medication and learn how to identify and respond to allergic reactions and anaphylaxis shock.
