Course Description

This brand new course (5.5 hours approx) is for all front-line staff working in the care sector, including residential care homes, nursing care homes, domiciliary care and other services and settings including personal assistants.
It features interactive exercises and real life example case-studies to re-inforce learning and test understanding.
Each delegate receives:
- a comprehensive workbook,
- our handy pocket-sized ‘primer’ card, and
- a Certificate of Attendance valid for one year.
Course Aims – The course covers essential areas such as:
- Laws, legislation & medicines,
- Roles & responsibilities of staff,
- Safe handling, administration & management of PRN medicines,
- Record keeping,
- Recognising & dealing with problems.

- Recognise best practice & exemplary PRN protocols,
- Understand the PRN process – assessment/monitoring/review,
- Define PRN medicines and list examples,
- Correctly record PRN administration,

- Know process for ordering, discontinuing and managing stock & any changes
