This course allows learners to understand how adverse childhood experiences can lead to an elevated risk of children and young people experiencing damaging impacts on health, or other social outcomes, across the life course (especially in adulthood).
Adverse childhood experiences alter how children’s brains develop as well as changing the development of their immunological and hormonal systems that then impacts on adult life and can increase various levels of behaviours that challenge, attachment deficits etc
