Shottermill House

from R A (Daughter of Resident) published on 11 April 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Both my parents have received care at Shottermill House for several years. My father has recently passed away, and the care he received was outstanding. As, his daughter, I was informed of his various ailments and general well-being very frequently. The dignified way the home treats all its residents
is incredibly special. My mom suffers from Alzheimer's and is included in as many activities as she can manage. The home is filled with love and compassion from all staff members, which reflects the Christian values it's based on. In addition, the food... especially the homemade cakes are delicious. I'm forever thankful my parents chose here to spend their later years.

Reply from Mike Beere, Business Manager at Shottermill House

Thank you for your very kind words R. It has been a real honour and privilege to have had your Mum & Dad with us for the past 7 years. It was so sad when Dad passed away recently, but rest assurred that we will continue to care for Mum with the same love that she has always had. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and all the family at this time.

My father went into Finborough Court care home straight from hospital. The care he received was excellent and the staff were very friendly. Although he was only a resident for a short period of time he was well looked after and his dementia needs met. I would have no hesitation in recommending Finborough
Court.

My aunt who is 102 years old gave up her independence when she broke her hip in a fall. She moved to Bridgemead originally in semi permanent residence. She would have been unable to cater for herself and Bridgemead offered her a routine of being cared for in all domestic ways. The staff have been very
accommodating to her wishes. It took her time to understand her condition and is now very happy to consider Bridgemead as a permant home.

Reply from Elizabeth Goodsman, Business Manager at Bridgemead Nursing Home

On 14th February, Framland put on an amazing Valentine's Day lunch and invited the relatives of residents. We were presented with a 3 course meal, all beautifully presented, followed by cheese and biscuits and tea/coffee. It meant so much to my mum to have all her sons and daughter sitting around the
table together. She said it was such a precious time. The kitchen staff and others worked hard to make it happen. I believe it was the new manager's idea. It was the first time we have been invited so it meant a lot. Thank you.

Luff House

from Stephen B (Son of Resident) published on 12 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5

Mum was a resident of Luff House for 2 and 1/2 years. her dementia increased during her stay and the care team were always attentive to her needs. The music and activities were a favourite of mum's.
Unfortunately we mum's increasing needs, Luff House worked with us to find a more suitable place for
mum.
All of the staff with whom mum and our family met were always compassionate and understanding of mum's needs.
When the time came to transfer mum to a higher dependency provider, the management team and care team were supportive and helpful. The day mum left there were sincere emotions from the staff, who clearly had genuinely grown fond of mum and care for her.

Reply from Sharon Rowley, Business Manager at Luff House

Thank you so much for your lovely review. It was a real joy to care for your mum, and it was with much regret that she had to leave Luff House, where she had become a big part of the Luff family. We hope that she is happy in her new home, and we wish her and all her family all the best for the future.

It was a pleasure to have Mum with us for almost five years and to show her Christian love and care that she so appreciated. We were pleased to support your family with an administrative matter recently too: our care extends beyond someone leaving the home here, so it was a blessing to be able to help there.

Finborough Court

from Andrew P (Son of Resident) published on 30 January 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Our dad felt safe in Finborough Court and related well to all of the staff who quickly got used to his quirks. The care home is purpose-built, well maintained and clean. Personally, I think the rooms are on the small side, but there are two lounges plus outside seating available during the day. Food
looked appetising and the catering staff would always provide something else if a resident didn't want what was on offer that day. At the end of his time, caring carers sat with him through the night as he slipped away - something the family really appreciated. The management team were always responsive and the whole environment was very welcoming.

Emmaus House

from Jane L (Daughter of Resident) published on 21 January 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My mother has been a resident at Emmaus House for just over a year, initially visiting for a most positive respite stay. I am so thankful for this amazing, inclusive place that is a loving home in the fullest sense of the word: management and staff consistently model professionalism, compassion and
attention to her well being and physical needs. Being severely sight impaired, with an outgoing personality, the provision for mum is outstanding, and personalised to meet her needs. My mother has a fresh start to life, forging genuine friendships, embracing innovative and inclusive activities, meticulously prepared - for example, the sporting activities, individual inputs on specific topics, such as the archaeology sessions, and collective seasonal events. Christian faith, laughter and joy are at the heart of Emmaus - my mum values this very much, and feels listened to. Always given a warm welcome when the family visit, we love invitations to join in unique events with our loved one.

My mum has now been in Emmaus House over a year and is very happy there. She is well looked after and enjoys the company she now has. There are lots of activities to do which she enjoys and lots of people to talk to. Staff are very good and will pop in for a chat and a joke if they are not too busy.

Dad's dementia journey hadn't been an easy one and we were so grateful when Finborough Court agreed to take him into full time care. Dad was well cared for and we were kept well informed. As soon as you enter the door it feels like home and you know you can relax and your loved one will be safe. When
dad reached end of life care we were able to visit whenever we wanted. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff looked after and supported us as well. Someone would sit and pray with dad until we arrived. They really cared. A room was made available for us if we needed a break and they brought us refreshments. When dad took his final breath they were there in seconds to support us and were genuinely upset at losing dad. We are so grateful for all they have done and cannot praise them enough. It truly is a remarkable place that we would readily recommend to anyone and we will be for ever in their debt.
