The care my dad received at Kirkburn Court was first class. Everyone from the General Manager and office team to every last nurse and carer had my dad's best interest at heart. We were all made so welcome and nothing was a bother. I would highly recommend Kirkburn Court to anyone looking for a Care
home for their loved one.

my father was a resident from may 2022, until he recently passed away in hospital , but was still a resident , in the time spent there he had many complex needs , he needed a lot of care , but tried too be as independent as possible , he managed with fantastic care from the carers, nurses, catering
staff, and management, they always tried their best with him , he loved his music and quizzes and got involved when he could , he spent his last few weeks in hospital , but would rather have been at kirkburn , the staff always made me and my family welcome , with no restrictions on a visit , when he passed away , several members of staff attended his service and lined up outside the cemetry gate too see him off , nice touch from them and was appreciated by family , would highly recommend kirkburn court care home. well run and friendly. 10/10

In the short period of time my mum was in Kirkburn Court (15 weeks), we were extremely happy with the care she received not only from the nurses and care staff but from the whole team which included the activities staff, house keeping, kitchen and office. Everyone knew Mum and did everything they could
to ensure Mum's needs were met. The senior general manager runs a fantastic facility and it is evident that he leads his team well, having so many members of staff receiving recognition for long service, some having worked for more than 10 years with a number reaching the 20+ years! The activities offered to all the residents at Kirkburn Court were amazing and so varied. Mum especially enjoyed meeting the many animals that visited the home as well as the singing and dancing activities.
Dad and I were made to feel most welcome and our daily visits to the home were met with many a friendly face, a hot cuppa and a delicious cake. A real home from home.

Dad went to Barchester Fairview House Care Home for respite last August and settled in so well he became a resident. He is very independent and all the staff are so supportive helping and encouraging him when needed. The level of care, activities and cleanliness are of a very high standard and any concerns
are dealt with immediately. Overall, Fairview has a great atmosphere, is very welcoming and all the staff ensure that residents and their families are treated with compassion and respect.

Barchester Lethen Park Care Home

from Dorothy A (Daughter of Resident) published on 27 January 2025

My mum was in Barchester Lethen Park Care Home for just under seven years, a very long time.
The care and attention she received was absolutely amazing. The carers, nurses, chefs, kitchen staff, office staff and activities coordinator were all so involved in caring for Mum, encouraging her to be involved
but equally letting her be on her own if that was what she wanted but always checking she was ok. The menu is so good, if there's nothing that they like then they'll make something else but there is a great choice.
Activities galore if you want to be involved and a weekly hairdresser (who is amazing) to keep them all looking beautiful.
The manager's door is always open if you have any concerns.
Mum unfortunately passed away at the end of December and we were looked after so well the days before she passed and we could be there anytime.
I'll miss my visits as everyone is a friend.
You guys are amazing!

Unfortunately, my experience on my visit was not good. No receptionist on at the weekend, why? I can't find anyone to speak to regarding my concerns regarding the treatment of the person I was visiting at the home, the staff that I had contact with seemed to talk at the resident and not talk with her
and found they seemed unfriendly. I had a look on your website and it looks so lovely and friendly with staff sitting and talking with the residents, that is not what I witnessed on my visit. The basics of caring for people is dignity and respect, which I found lacking.

When my dad came to Lethen Park he was rather unsettled however the activities team buddied up with him and supported him daily with settling in, dad has been at Lethen Park for nearly a year and I can honestly say it is a weight off my shoulders. He is so safe and I can sleep peacefully knowing he
has everything he needs. Recently the maintenance manager has helped with my dad's windows and supported his dementia. The activities girl is amazing at understanding my dad's needs and suggested a window covering which has made a huge difference to his well-being. The food is amazing and my dad loved when the chef visits him daily and has a chat with him. All the carers are incredible and they all meet his needs and more. I feel like my dad has a family at Lethen Park as well as our beloved family. The housekeeping staff are amazing and treat him with dignity and love.

My Mum is a resident in Barchester Fairview House Care Home. She has been here for over two years now. In the past few months most of the home has been refurbished painted, papered, carpeted, new furniture, new decor. It is looking, smelling and feeling fresh and new. There are now 4 activities organisers
producing up to 60 varied activities per month! (I enjoy coming in to see what's on next). The carers, nurses, the maintenance, housekeeping, laundry staff, the administration team handle up to 100 residents with many and varied special needs. Over the past 2 years I have got to know many of them and I keep discovering deeper layers of skills and sensitivities. They are very dedicated and committed to enriching everyone's lives. They make me feel more than just a visitor, more part of the team, part of the family. Generally those who work in the care sector are undervalued and underpaid. I see them as heroes in our society. Well done. Thanks. Keep up the good work!

Barchester Lethen Park Care Home is a fab home that goes beyond expectations looking after my father-in-law, it was their emerald anniversary today and I got in touch to see if they could do something, seeing that Mother-in-law visits on a Friday, and they organised a lovely afternoon tea for them to
have together. Honestly, just makes my heart swell that they really look after each resident that lives there.

My mother-in-law was cared for with dignity, and the staff looked after her so well, but they also looked after me as she was on end-of-life care, which was very difficult as I am her next of kin, but the staff kept me informed on her, so I would like to thank each of them.

I speak on behalf of my family by saying that Barchester Kirkburn Court Care Home was excellent. It was a daunting prospect transitioning my grandad into a care home but it was a smooth process with the help of the kind and caring staff who were very attentive. It really felt like a home away from home.
Knowing my grandad was being well looked after and cared for in the ways we no longer could, gave us so much reassurance. It was always pleasant going in to visit him and the friendly staff were always a pleasure to talk to. We felt very well looked after as visitors too. We can now look back knowing that my grandad was in the best place receiving the best care in his latter life with dementia and we are forever grateful to Kirkburn Care Home for that.

Mixed. Some good features e.g. activities, unrestricted access, some good caring and considerate staff, some rather abrupt some with limited English making communication difficult. Never enough staff so sometimes long waits for attention.

Since moving in in October 2023, my father has settled in well.
The nurses, carers, admin staff have all been professional, approachable and always go above and beyond.
Have to mention one of the carers, in particular - she is always so happy to help and nothing's too much but have to say, all the
carers are friendly and helpful.
