As a daughter who was very unsure and reluctant to put my mum into care, I can't thank all the staff and management enough. From the first call, I received from the manager to arrive at the home for the first time to drop my mum off.
The staff made this transition a lot more relaxed and easier for
us both
My mum settled in quickly with the help/care/consideration/support and enthusiasm of the all staff.
I loved the buzz that was instant to see and feel in the day room supporting each resident as their needs were met. Staff showed great care and love towards them all.
The daily activities were amazing to watch as the staff buzzed around both residents and visitors.
The home environment was clean/modern/bright and homely, which I also felt helped me as I really didn't know what to expect from a care home setting.
Thank you so much Seaview Nursing Home.

Dad had to go into Seaview for a short respite care package as Mum had to go to hospital for a while.
The staff and management were amazing with my dad and with us. It was such a stressful time for us all but everyone at Seaview helped allay our fears and worries.
Dad loved the food and the activities,
quizzes and bingo a form favourite. When we went to take him home every single staff member took time out to say goodbye to him and wish us well. Thanks once again.

The care my husband is given is of the highest quality. Also, the activities are amazing. Always stimulating and enjoyable. The staff are friendly and vigilant to the needs of the relatives as well as being exemplary. I personally have felt 'listened to' by staff/management and been shown great kindness.

We have had such a positive experience, as a family, with the care my dad is receiving at Barchester Pentland View Care Home since he has resided there these past few months, I felt the need to share. We have found the staff to always be professional, friendly and really caring towards my dad and other
residents under extremely challenging situations. The care assistants, activity coordinators, nurses, management and domestic staff all do a brilliant job with a much-needed dose of humour and show tremendous kindness towards residents who at this stage in their life may have more advanced stages of dementia. I have found them to be honest and transparent when there have been issues with my dad. Above all, they have shown compassion and understanding not only towards my dad but also my mum who has been going through a tough time with the transition of my dad going into residential care. Well done Pentland View!

I visited an old family friend who has been a resident there for a few years. I took my 95-year-old relative with me as I am considering care for him as he lives with us, 24-hour care is now a consideration. I was pleased to see our family friend so happy there. The staff were so friendly and kind,
a really happy atmosphere, amongst all the staff and the residents. Her own room was lovely. I visited the salon - delightful, my uncle was so impressed with it as he used to be a hairdresser so I would imagine he would hang around there most of the day in one of the lovely chairs nearby. I went around all the lounges and dining room, it was beautiful and clean. The interior decorating furnishings and lighting of a very high standard. I am impressed that there is such good care in Highview, and also impressed by the activities/outings available to residents. I loved the little garden and refreshment area. Happy staff, happy residents, happy vibes came across 100%.

My mum went into Seaview for a week's respite care while I was on holiday, initially, she was very apprehensive about going in as it was a new experience for her but she thoroughly enjoyed her experience she felt safe knowing that there was someone there for her 24 hours a day. She was delighted with
her room, it was spotless, and the facilities offered while she was there. All the staff were excellent and nothing was a bother to them, the meals were lovely and she was impressed with the choices on offer. Although it made her realise that she's not yet ready for full-time care (she didn't like the idea of someone else doing her washing) she's hoping to be able to access respite care again.

My mother-in-law is a resident and has been since December 2023.
We are so pleased to see her settled in so well and that is thanks to the incredible care/activities that are provided.
When any of the family visit, we are always made to feel welcome and each and every one of the staff is friendly
and cares about the residents.

Becoming responsible for a parent with advanced dementia is not easy and for many people, going into a nursing home is their greatest fear. For my mum, we were out of options and after a difficult nine months trying everything, including lovely respite care where she was beyond the facility's capabilities
and suffered an additional brain injury, a four-month stay in hospital, she eventually came into the care of Memory Lane at Barchester Highview House Care Home. The most important aspect of care is finding the correct place and level of care for the person. For my mum, Memory Lane has been perfect. The unit feels calm yet full of life. Memory Lane is an example of what can be achieved and I dread any of the staff members leaving. No nursing home is perfect but whenever I have noticed something that I think my mum would prefer to be done differently, it is acted upon. My mum has blossomed since arriving here and although dementia has changed her, we have come to appreciate every day that she thrives in Memory Lane.

I cannot speak highly enough of the excellent care and attention by the manager and her staff to my brother. The staff are dedicated and treat all residents with dignity and respect. My brother has settled in well in the home and I know he feels safe, content and happy. There is a friendly atmosphere,
the staff are always cheery and when I visit I am always greeted warmly by all staff. I have complete confidence in the care he receives and cannot thank the staff enough. I would have no hesitation in recommending this care home.

The staff are very compassionate and professional, they are always happy to help and the physical care is excellent. They provide proper adjustable beds with correct mattresses and all the furniture and surroundings are new and very bright and cheerful. The food is excellent and they can adapt the meals
to suit different appetites. I am most grateful for the kindness shown to my father-in-law and I can recommend Seaview as a lovely place to stay for respite or longer-term care.

My husband has just spent 2 weeks respite in Highview House Care Home.
He was made to feel very welcome on arrival by all the very friendly members of staff, who had remembered him from a previous visit.
He needs a lot of help in all aspects of his day-to-day care, and this was carried out for him
with kindness and empathy.
He was encouraged to participate in activities, which was reassuring to know, otherwise, his days could have been very long for him.
He was very happy there.

My wife was admitted to the nursing home in December 2023 suffering from dementia from day one the staff have been pretty marvellous in meeting her needs, she constantly needs reassurance and comfort from them to make her feel secure and so far they have provided it in spades for which I thank them.
The
managerial staff have also been very helpful with advice as to how to manage my wife's condition and allocating extra support when needed with the help of the social work dept in the area and to them, I say thank you also.
It is early days yet but so far I can only commend their commitment to carry out a very difficult job.

My mother entered into the care of Barchester Highview House Care Home in August 2020, suffering from vascular dementia and epilepsy. Since that time, Mum has thrived. She is happy and well cared for by the team of dedicated staff from all disciplines. Mum is always beautifully presented. It is obvious
that attention has been paid to hygiene requirements, she is always nicely dressed, her hair is done each week and her nails are kept clean and manicured often with a coat of nail varnish applied by the enthusiastic and lovely activities team. They also provide a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities, catering for all tastes and needs. The list of activities provided is enviable and friends and family are encouraged to join in. The catering staff provide a comprehensive and nourishing menu and also an array of irresistible treats. Residents and family are encouraged to proffer ideas and things that they would like to be added to the menu and also to the list of activities.
I am always made welcome.

My experience with the care home has always been great, me and my PAT (Pets As Therapy) dog love going in every week, the staff are so friendly and helpful. The activities team are great, they work very hard and well, they always make me feel comfortable and welcome, they all do a great job. Memory
Lane care team work really well too, this is the department we do, we love it, the staff work so hard, the residents always look happy and they have a good range of activities to do. My husband is part of the activities team, he helps me which is good, he is great with the residents, he always makes them smile. It's a joy to work with such a hard-working team. Such a lovely and clean home. Very happy with my visits with my wee dog.
