My wife has been a resident of Lancaster Care Home for 2 years. During this period I have been more than pleased with all aspects of my wife's care. The staff from the manager downwards have always displayed a professional attitude, caring support and total friendliness. I have always been informed
of my wife's concerns and been involved in all decision making processes. They have been extremely helpful on occasions when I have felt confused by what has been said about outside agencies (i.e. social services). You should be proud of Lancaster Grange.

Reply from Charles Sadler, Senior General Manager at Barchester Lancaster Grange Care Home

You are so much a part of our wonderful community as is your beautiful wife. We love you coming in every single day to sit and read your morning newspaper together. In fact I tend to judge how early or late I am for work by when we pass each other every morning.Thank you so much for your kind review, it really make a difference for us all. You always treat the staff so wonderfully. Thank you

I can't speak highly enough of my stay at Edingley Lodge. Every single member of staff has been kind, caring, and very helpful. The place itself is beautiful, everywhere is spotlessly clean, and the meals are always very nice too. For anyone thinking of using Edingley Lodge, I can assure them they would
be making a very wise choice.

Moving Mum to residential care was a huge decision. Lancaster Grange stood out immediately in terms of attitude, ease of planning and listening to our needs. Mum, in spite of her devastation admitting she could no longer cope on her own and leaving her beloved home, has settled in beautifully. After
10 months, she feels Lancaster Grange is her home. The staff feel like family. There is a wonderful sense of community. As her family, I feel as much a part of Lancaster Grange as the residents and staff alike. Obviously, I'd like Mum to be living independently but Lancaster Grange comes a very close second.

Reply from Charles Sadler, Senior General Manager at Barchester Lancaster Grange Care Home

Such a lovely review and we are extremely grateful. Your mother is a huge part of our lives here and now an even bigger part of mine as she's just two doors down. We all love her positivity and I can't wait to see her spending time in her garden area in the spring. Absolutely all the best.

From the enquiry about my dad, to when he left after 2 weeks of respite, the care home staff were outstanding.
Always welcomed with a smile and the offer of fresh coffee and pastries.
All the staff were helpful with my dad and couldn't do enough for him.
It was like a 5 star holiday for him.
Thank
you to the care home manager for all your advice and always there to have a chat.
I cannot thank you all enough for all the care you gave my dad while there, you are all stars.

Mum has been at Barchester Hall Park Care Home for twenty months. She has advanced dementia and lives on Memory Lane. The staff are wonderful with her and there are always lots of activities happening to keep her entertained. She is very happy there.
The staff also look out for my dad, who has milder
dementia, when he visits Mum. The way they are both treated gives me peace of mind that I made the right choice.
The home has recently undergone a major refurbishment and looks fantastic. I would certainly recommend Hall Park for anyone looking for a home for their loved ones.

My mother-in-law, who has Alzheimer's, has been a resident for two years now and we are extremely happy with the care offered. The staff are very professional and will work with you if you have any ideas to help the residents live a comfortable safe life. The nursing home doesn't smell of that usual
nursing home smell that normally blows your head off like you would see in different establishments in the Worksop area. We took time looking around different nursing homes but instantly fell in love with Barchester Forest Hill Care Home! We based our decisions on would we live here if we had to and it was a massive yes. We can definitely relax at home knowing our family member is safe and well cared for.

Mum has been a resident at Barchester Edingley Lodge Care Home since March this year and has settled into her new life very happily. The staff and facilities are excellent. Mum has made friends with other residents and the staff who look after her. There are many activities provided to stimulate her
and keep her busy. The food is excellent and can be tailored to the individual needs of the resident. The staff are very caring and look after Mum very well. I am glad we chose this home for her.

My experience of Barchester Edingley Lodge Care Home has been fantastically positive since my mother became a resident. The staff are all very caring and look after my mother brilliantly and cater for all her requirements so well.
My mother is fantastically fulfilled here and this provides me with

I am happy to endorse Edingley to any future residents.

from Hillier J (Daughter of Resident) published on 27 December 2024

My mum celebrated her 104th birthday at Barchester Hall Park Care Home and had a fantastic day. The staff wanted her to receive at least 104 birthday cards and arranged with local nurseries and schools to make some. Along with the family and their contacts, Mum managed to get over 300 cards and we spent
the afternoon opening them all, we had glitter everywhere. (The staff did a brilliant clean up afterwards). The home arranged for a couple of local nurseries to visit and bring birthday greetings and sang to her, also a performance of a musical was arranged, followed by a carol singsong. The family arranged for the local news to come along and film the day. The recording was shown the following day, lovely for Mum whilst promoting Hall Park.
Mum had an emotional, enjoyable but tiring day and loved all the attention and her cake (made by the home's chef).
Thank you Hall Park staff and residents for all that you did to make the day so special.

from C K (Sister of Resident) published on 23 December 2024
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

With very difficult circumstances, my sister and her husband were admitted to their care home. Usually fully independent and look of sound mind, this has been stressful both for them and I'm sure, care staff.
However, I found all staff to be caring and showed empathy and dignity at all times. Due to
poor vision and struggling with hearing, this sometimes caused confusion, occasionally a little conflict but staff are very understanding. The accommodation is excellent and homely, clean, pleasant. Plenty of activities for a large array of abilities. Thank you.

My mum has Parkinson's and Lewy body dementia. She has been a resident at Barchester Forest Hill Care Home since August 2022. I visit her three-four times a week. The home is very well-run, all the staff, from the management down, are approachable at any time to answer your questions and address any
concerns. Meetings are held quarterly for family to attend.
Everywhere is constantly cleaned, clothing is washed daily. The meals are cooked on the premises and are tasty and nutritional. The nurses and carers are very good and they interact with the patients in a lovely way. The activities are varied and so, something will appeal to everyone. The two maintenance guys keep everything working and the gardens and interior looking great.
The home is decorated beautifully for Christmas.
My dad and I looked after my mum at home for as long as we could. Now we can visit and still look after her but all the help we need is on hand immediately and that is such a relief. Thank you to all.

from Tracy S (Daughter of Resident) published on 31 October 2024
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5

Most of the staff caring and look after my dad well. He enjoys the food there and loves cuddles from staff.
Disappointed that there are no regular activities or residents not taken out very often as it's been a very long time without activity coordinators. Also, no consistent hairdresser for weeks
and weeks on end. Residents like to look nice and be pampered. Minibus is there, please take out in it if possible.

Reply from Barchester Forest Care Home, The Feedback Team at Barchester Forest Care Home

Thank you for leaving a review. We're able to advise that the home's new activity coordinator has lots of events coming up involving the minibus, including a local darts tournament, a visit to the theatre, Christmas markets and carol singing at the local church. Our staff need to be insured on our minibus to drive this and we're sorry this has taken some time to get the relevant checks in place. The home has also advised that they have arranged for a barber to attend the home regularly. Please reach out to the general manager of the home if you have any queries at all. Kind regards, Barchester's customer feedback team.

Management and staff commitment continues to be of the highest standard when dealing with my father's constant daily and weekly care needs (and all other residents through my observations). All care staff, nurses and management are always polite, friendly and approachable (even when the pressure is

My dad is in Barchester Forest Care Home, this is the best nursing home Dad has lived in.
All the carers are friendly and helpful to us, as a family. My dad gets the best care at this home, the carers love Dad, even when he has his agitated episodes, they are very understanding and know Dad is loving
too and it's his dementia.
The food always looks lovely and there is always a good variety. Dad often has second helpings.
We are always offered drinks and food when we visit Dad which is so nice.
I always feel at ease when I visit and chat to the carers too. You all do an amazing job. Thank you so much for caring for my dad.

Mum and Dad have been at Barchester Hall Park Care Home for five months now. From our first contact with the home, we were made to feel very welcome. All the staff are very friendly and helpful and there is a lovely atmosphere. Many of the staff have been there for several years which says a lot. I
come from a nursing background so have high expectations of the care and can confirm the care provided is excellent. The staff, as well as looking after Mum and Dad. always enquire how we are when we visit and are always on hand to provide advice or support. The home is currently undergoing a major refurb and we have been kept up to date on progress.
