Wonderful care home in every way. I cannot wish for any better home for my mum to stay, from the first day she arrived, the staff are amazing and care very much about the residents.
Halsey house is a wonderful home, with a lovely atmosphere. The building is spacious, with a lot of character, and kept
extremely clean. As soon as you enter Halsey, you know the home is very well managed and offers a calm and caring environment.
The rooms are an excellent size, with a specious bathroom, have a nice garden view and cleaned every day.
The care team are excellent, and I am so impressed with the job they do. Really nice genuine and caring people who all give that something extra to make the residents comfortable
When its my time for a care home, I hope I can come to Halsey !!

This is a beautiful home especially the dementia unit where it is so peaceful and calm setting. The residents are cared for and so lovely to talk to them. Carers are so patient and caring always have time to talk with a smile.
The home is home from home. Fantastic manager who manages well always having
time to speak to residents and staff alike. She has an open door policy for staff to be able to air their views and is there to listen and to care whatever their reasons. A very well-run home that we are so lucky to have.

My husband has been a resident of Halsey House for a year now. From the initial enquiries, they have been professional, courteous and caring. I have high expectations which the staff deliver consistently. My husband is settled, comfortable and has his dignity upheld. The food is excellent, with variety,
is always hot and assistance is given to ensure he is nourished and satisfied. He did actually put on weight! The reception, laundry, cleaners and entertainment staff are a pleasure to deal with. Thank you to everyone at Halsey House.

My dad has been in Danbury Lodge for nearly a year and he has received excellent care throughout. The carers are so kind and considerate, always giving Dad his dignity. They are always trying to make him as comfortable as possible particularly now that he is chair/bed-bound. I would definitely recommend
Danbury Lodge to anyone that is ex-service. I am always kept informed of Dad’s care and anything that may affect him. My mum is very happy that Dad is in a place that he feels at home which has made the decision for long-term care an easier one.

The staff are amazing and professional. Nice and clean.
They encourage activities and welcome us when we visit.
As we live a long distance away they provided us with lunch which was lovely.

My mother was a resident for many years. Sadly she passed away last September. The staff were utterly amazing, and the care given was exceptional. Care for both my mother and her children.
During her final hours staff were with her 24/7. All staff work incredibly hard and show so much empathy.

I have always found the home inviting to all family members, especially our grandchildren. Our family member has become increasingly difficult and unwell but has always been treated with dignity and respect with everyone giving their best to interact and include her in every aspect of life in Halsey.
I am always informed of ongoing health issues and what has been decided with health professionals and treatments.
Residents rooms are light, airy and en-suite. There is room for little bits from home to make it personal and homely.
There is a programme of activities for everyone and entertainment with outside entertainers just about every week. Activities staff always encourage residents to take part in anything planned and even have manicure sessions which our family member loves.
I can honestly say it’s a fabulous place and am very happy that our family member is here.

My grandmother has been at Halsey House for a number of years and has recently moved to their dementia specialist care. I was nervous about how she would react to the move, but it was done so carefully that we didn't think that she even noticed. When we came for our first visit to her new space, it
was wonderful. I have never been to such a warm and welcoming space! Great care and attention have been paid to the decor and arrangements there so that it does not feel like a 'secure' unit, but does feel safe.
Since moving to Halsey House, she has become more sociable and comfortable, which was happening less and less in the main part of the home because of her specialist needs. We were able to visit with my young son and it was like we had taken her out to lunch, even though we were at Halsey. The carers who work with her, the site team, and the receptionists and admin staff can't do enough to support her and us when we visit, especially since we are a considerable distance away.

Halsey House seems to me to be a care home in actuality and not only in name. For over six years I have regularly visited a dear friend whose home is now with you. Thus I think I have a valid idea of its quality. Almost without exception, the staff from humble cleaners upwards are efficient, helpful
and respectfully courteous. In future days I would be glad to be an occupant.

My mother was cared for at Halsey House for a year before her death, at Halsey House, in July 2023. It was a very positive experience both for her and for us right from the beginning when she arrived for respite care following a hospital stay. She was expertly cared for and encouraged to participate
in activities. The food was also excellent and catered for her increasingly particular needs.
She was 100 when she died and her end-of-life care, both for her and her family, was also exemplary. We were so fortunate that her life ended in emotional and physical comfort.

As a dual be low knew amputee and being the youngest resident, I started my stay with some reservations but overjoyed to be out of hospital. I met one of the deputy managers during my interview process and was very impressed. My stay has been a great pleasure to date with a very caring and attentive
staff at all levels. Nothing is too much trouble and all the staff genuinely care for the residents. Some facilities are slightly outdated but ideal for the elderly residents. The menus are somewhat repetitive with limitations on evening meals but for the most part well presented, tastes and good quality. Activities for most residents are ideal and I have taken part in quite a few activities. I would like to take part in more and include new activities such as board games or who did it mysteries. Jigsaw boards and rolls would be nice.

From making the initial enquires through to my mother entering Halsey House the help, understanding and cooperation from the reception team, management and the care and attention of the nursing staff and assistants has been absolutely first class.
The premises are a pleasure to enter, bright, spacious
and very functional. The people I have spoken to and got to know in such a short time visiting Mother are all delightful and happy to be in Halsey House as it is a real home to all. Most of all, my mother is happy there and in only a couple of weeks she is engaging with everyone there and taking part in activities and especially enjoying the food and care. She has benefitted straight away which is a great joy and relief to my wife and I.
Thanks to all at Halsey House.

Dad has been a resident at Halsey House for almost 10 years and he has always received excellent care throughout that time.
Staff are unfailingly friendly, cheerful, helpful and conscientious. As a family, we have been delighted by the level of care and expertise shown in dealing with Dad’s various

When we became aware that I could no longer care for my father, we faced the difficult decision of having to look at and assess homes.
My brother found the home, and from the initial first enquiry to my father moving in it took just over 2.5 weeks.
The staff could not have been kinder, and I cannot
stress the amount of care shown to my family.
Dad has been there for over 1 month now, and he has settled in with zero problems.
He is 98 years old and has no health issues apart from mobility.
We hear so much negative feedback, and bad press about care homes, it is so nice to be able to give a positive view.
The staff are second to none, and we thank you for your care and support.
Thank you.

As you can see from my ratings, I can find nothing negative to say about Danbury (at Halsey House). From the start, my sister has been treated with dignity and her needs and interests considered. The facilities and care are the best I have come across. There is excellent communication with relatives
and the staff are thoughtful and attentive. The atmosphere in Danbury is always calm and positive. The dining room is always set out like a restaurant, a minor item maybe but it's indicative of standards and shows respect. My sister was a keen gardener and the staff have encouraged her to help water and weed the small garden in the center of the unit and to help choose plants. Danbury should be a template for all Alzheimer's care units and I trust them completely with my sister's care.

Dad has been in the Danbury unit since August. I was obviously worried how Dad would adjust when we moved him there but he settled in immediately. The building itself is clean, bright and homely and always seems relaxed. The staff make the place though. There cheerfulness and relentless efforts of the
staff to improve the days of people, who have a variety of challenging conditions, is exemplary. It's nice to know Dad is well looked after and feels at home there.
