The staff are always extremely friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. We were made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived. There is always something arranged for the residents eg Irish dancers, bagpipes on St Patrick's Day. The animals that visit are always loved by residents. We feel all
the activities contribute to residents sense of well being. Thank you for your outstanding service!

My father needed to move care home as his old home could no longer cope with his needs. After visiting several other care homes Prince Michael of Kent was our first choice for him.
The home has great facilities (it was refreshing when we first walked in when compared to other homes). We have also found
the staff to be friendly and supportive.
The most important aspect of Dad's care is his mental well being. The staff have worked hard to help Dad settle in and have been proactive in helping to manage his dementia. I very much feel that this is a care home that works hard as a supporting advocate for residents when dealing with third parties. We are very grateful for this support.
I would highly recommend the Home.

from John W (Respite Resident) published on 3 April 2025

Staff were very good and very patient. Overall, my stay was satisfactory with supportive staff. The room was adequate but the bed was very uncomfortable. Having been told to press the buzzer if I wanted or needed anything, it sometimes took over half an hour for a response and on occasion not at all.
It was very frustrating and annoying at not having my clothing returned to me from the laundry and sometimes being given other residents' clothing. I left the home with some of my clothing not returned to me. I was particularly upset at the loss of my drinking glass which I and my daughters asked about on several occasions. It was a birthday gift to me on my 90th birthday. The food was inadequate. It was poor quality and seemed to be at the cheaper end of the scale. The building and its grounds were beautiful and I thoroughly enjoyed watching the wildlife from the window.

Dad has been living at Scarborough Court now for a year & I would just like to thank everyone for everything they do.
Dad is very happy there & is well looked after, cared for and fed well, even liking a little glass of cider now & again.

Everyone is approachable if I have any concerns about anything, & strive to do the best for all of the residents.
I would recommend Scarbrough Court 100%

From initial contact through the home visit prior to a taster experience and subsequent admission, all staff were extremely helpful understanding caring and kind in all respects. Helping a frustrated family help a frightened elderly lady with dementia from an intolerable existence with home care into
a residential care facility. Every step was taken with understanding and consideration of the individuals fears and reticence to a happy conclusion and cheerful acceptance of a difficult transition from home to residential care. Without the help experience and kindness of the staff this could have been a very traumatic and brutal change. Gentle encouragement made this journey stress free for both family and potential resident. We have nothing but praise and gratitude for all involved at PEDOKC

Prince Michael of Kent Court is a wonderful care home. It is clean and tidy, light and airy and warm for the residents. It has a fabulous main lounge where they have weekly coffee mornings with the friends of Prince Michael of Kent Court. The residents can also come to the main lounge for musical (singing
and bands) entertainment. There is also a good activities programme that the residents can participate in. The home also has smaller lounges too.
My mum moved here at the end of October and she has been looked after so well. All the staff are kind, friendly, welcoming, very professional and above all so caring and respectful, and they are the same with relatives and friends too. It gives me, my brother and sister such peace of mind. Thank you!

My mother lived with my family for two after the death of my father who was her main carer . She was bed bound and needed carers four times a day
After a hard decision we placed mum in the care of The Prince Edward Duke of Kent Court Care Home .
Mum loved it there and I could change from carer back
to daughter again .
The staff were amazing ,they treated my mum with respect and kindness on every level . And supported all my family during our visits .Mum began to deteriorate during her last few months and all the staff were wonderful . They informed me every time doctors ,nurses, paramedics were called out .
Mum has a peace plan put together and when the time was right mum passed away quietly at the home . The staff were all amazing and treated mum with dignity
They had not only become mums carers but also her friends .

I was recommended James Terry court, and I can honestly say it's everything I hoped it would be; it's a bright, exceptionally clean home, very well run. but what I have found best of all is the care and attention all the staff give to the residents, I was very unsure when having to look for a home that
looked after people like my mother who has dementia as to how it would be as I know how challenging it is, but all my worries were soon put aside as she has settled in very well and is very happy. and gets on well with all the staff.

Lovely clean care home with welcoming and professional staff. Our whole family feel at complete ease knowing my mother in law is well cared for and happy.
There is always something going on, whether it be activities for the residents or activities the whole family can enjoy.

Barford Court

Our Mum arrived in July 24 undernourished and very poorly, having undergone a series of falls at her home over the previous months. Since becoming a resident at BC her health has improved significantly, she's put on weight and those falls have become a distant memory. Mum enjoys the activities laid
on and the company of other residents and staff, who always have time for her.
A very well-run friendly home, the manager and his team of professionals have made a world of difference, our Mum has made friends here, among both residents & staff and is flourishing. We feel lucky to have found Barford Court, and have great peace of mind knowing Mum's being cared for round-the-clock. Thankyou
