The strength of Davison House lies in the quality of the staff. Kind, caring, and approachable. The building and grounds lack a little in terms of maintenance, but given the age and the difficulty all care homes face with recruitment, the shortcomings are not material. My mother very quickly adapted
to her new home.

My brother has had excellent care in the home. What I like about it is everyone is so down to earth. Nothing is a bother and they treat my brother like one of their own. Communication from the home has been good and I have been kept updated at all times regarding recommendations from the GP and any
updates to medication etc. My brother is very happy in the home and enjoys the activities laid on. He thinks of the facility as his home now.

Since my cousin went into the care of Davidson House, it took a couple of weeks for her to settle and I saw that it is a safe environment for her. I cannot fault anything about it. The standard of cleanliness throughout the building is excellent along with my cousin's own personal care which I cannot
fault. I especially like the beauty treatment salon which I know she will enjoy from time to time. Good size day room for activities, watching tv, having treats (ice cream/lollies etc) or just having a snooze and there is always plenty of staff around and have noticed they take the time to rotate and chat to the residents. My cousins room is always very clean, her bedding is changed regularly. I must commend the staff for keeping me up to date with my cousins welfare which makes me feel more at ease knowing she is getting the best care possible. I find that every member of staff is very friendly and helpful & would not hesitate in recommending this care home to anyone.

The care home has a fantastic staff, who are dedicated and go above to provide a caring service to the clients. The relationships built with the staff are second to none. The building itself shows attention to detail with the additional extras the staff provide. The staff also keep good communication
with the family. I really appreciate the effort put in.

My dad moved into the Care Home in April this year due to health problems. He is being very well looked after and made to feel very welcome by all the staff. The staff are always very helpful in dealing with any enquiries or problems.

My uncle moved into Eagle Lodge care home back in January and we were unsure what to expect. But we are very happy with the care he receives and they are always doing lots of activities and days out. All the staff get on with him and he has a good banter with them.

Since my Dad took up residency in Eagle Lodge in April 2023 his care and his life experience, which started in a good place, has continued to grow without losing sight of the essentials. As a result when ask him, he tells us he is happy which only builds our confidence in the staff and the way Eagle
Lodge is run.

Lots of mistakes were made, and cover-ups in my opinion, in caring for my mother who went in healthy apart from her mobility which wasn't great, but was getting there with support or so I thought, but after 1 week and two falls, she got sepsis and passed away on morphine driver. Something was not right
and no real explanation just avoidance. They did care when she was on end-of-life care, won't fault that, but a lot of questions to be answered in time!

I am saddened to hear of your negative experience of the care of your mother and appreciate what a difficult time this must be for you and your family. The description of your experience is not the expectation we have of the standard of our care and I would welcome you contacting the home so that we can fully investigate any concerns you have. I would like to reassure you that any concerns will be treated seriously.

Davidson House is a wonderful place. It has a very warm ethos and is spotlessly clean. The staff are so kind and caring and keep me updated regularly on how my mum is. The rooms are well-decorated and warm. Special weeks/days are celebrated and they have numerous activities on offer throughout the week
to keep residents stimulated and busy. The kindness of staff and activities make this place very special and I am very blessed that my mum is there. The staff are very receptive to any issues and are always adapting to help meet the needs of residents. Social media posts keep me updated about everything that residents are doing when I am at work which means I know my mum is having a good time and is very comforting. Thank you, everyone for all that you do.

Placing a loved one into a care home is a difficult time for all concerned and can be quite challenging. However on my visit to the home I had no doubt it was the place I felt most comfortable with. Yes it is a bit dated in places and yes there are always little hick-ups to begin with but the overwhelming
sense I felt was the close loving feeling I felt from all the carers and management who kindly showed me around. It has taken a while for my partner to settle in but I can honestly say I never leave the home without the knowledge that he is being loved and cared for and if I have any issues at all they are dealt with kindly and with compassion.
I could not imagine my partner being anywhere else; that in itself is a reflection I have for this loving home.

My Aunt has been in Davidson House for several years now. From the week she arrived I could see she was very happy. She loved taking part in all the activities. I have never known a care home to have so much going on for the residents. It certainly keeps their minds active. The food is excellent from
what I have seen and what my Aunt has told me. Residents are not pressured to get up if they feel like a long lie in, or don't feel like taking part in activities. It is nice to see little things, like nails being manicured and painted. My Aunt always loves the sweet trolley doing its rounds, with plenty of chocolate and crisps to keep her happy! When we have visited in the past, we were often given refreshments and welcomed to join in with singing songs, or the various activities of the day. We had many a fun time visiting, and the Grandchildren enjoyed it too. Staff are friendly and on residents' birthdays, they are made a fuss of with gifts and cake etc. A real home from home!

My sister was a resident in Eagle Lodge for 5 years until her recent death aged 87.
She spent her later years suffering from dementia, however, the care and attention she received at Eagle Lodge was absolutely superb and helped her to cope with her illness.
The many activities the residents enjoyed
on a daily basis are a testament to how well this home is run with a particular focus on music, hairdressing, and simple activities to keep the residents mentally active.
The first thing I noticed the first time I visited was the absence of any unpleasant smells, my sister's room was always warm and comfortable and well ventilated and spotlessly clean.
Keep up the good work and well done all of you.

My mother lived at Eagle Lodge for nearly two and a half years until she sadly passed away on Easter day. She had dementia and other health issues. I live nearby and visited her almost daily during her time there and was able to see the day-to-day treatment of residents and the overall performance of
the care home in a detailed way.
I cannot overstate how grateful we are to the team at Eagle Lodge for their wonderful care. The uplifting, Salvation Army spiritual emphasis, wonderful care and food combined with a busy and cheerful programme of activities; outings and importantly singing made Mum's stay at Eagle Lodge a pleasure.

My Mum has been a resident in Eagle Lodge for 8 years and the care that she receives is second to none. All staff are approachable and go out of their way to ensure the well being of all residents. When Mum went in we did not expect her to live for long due to conditions that she had but due to the
excellent care she has received she is now approaching her 92nd birthday. As a family, we are also kept informed and we feel 'quite at home' when we visit. Cannot rate high enough.

My dad was anxious when moving to Eagle Lodge. They helped him settle in and now he loves his new home. He does get frustrated now and then but that's age-related. They go out of their way to please him and he has developed a great relationship with the staff. He recently went to the theatre and cinema
and couldn't wait to share his experience with me. My dad is happy so that makes me very happy.

As a volunteer, I go along when I can to help with a card making activity. The residents love this and the cards are then sold in the care home to raise funds to provide treats for the residents. We can have a wee sing song while making cards and one lady, who never came down from her room just loves
card making and is an excellent vendor of the cards at the bi-annual fairs held at the care home. It is heartwarming to see how caring and dedicated all staff are and all are welcomed whether visiting briefly or not! If I ever need to go into care, this would be my number 1 choice!

Eagle Lodge is a wonderful place, staffed by caring, empathetic people. When you enter the building it feels like home. Mum has been there for over 2 years and has been very well cared for. I have been made very welcome as a family member. If you are looking for somewhere for an elderly family member,
do consider Eagle Lodge but don't take my word for it, arrange a visit and see for yourself!
