Glebelands

from Hugh P (Son of Resident) published on 28 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 3.0 out of 5

Care seemed adequate but nothing more.
Management were invisible.
The food looked pretty dreadful.
Value for money was poor/very poor.
I can't recommend Glebelands.

Kingston House

from Ralph B (Brother of Resident) published on 28 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

I am very pleased with the attention my sister got at Kingston House. The staff were uniformly friendly, considerate and helpful. I was able to visit whenever I wanted and always found my sister well looked after, even in difficult circumstances. On one occasion four members of staff were helping her
change her bedding. They could not know I was approaching the room. I was impressed by the quiet and thoughtful way they were treating my sister - they could not have been more considedrate. When arranging her funeral service I asked for donations to Greensleeves Care, and some of her friends have told me that they have contributed. I passed on a cheque for £50 myself. I had no reservations about Kingston House and really cannot commend the staff there too much.

This care home time after time exceeds expectations. Their wish come true and warmth of care initiatives created by their activity manager have been superb. My mother had a visit from a Shetland pony to the home, a group of residents celebrated the handing over of the lamp to start the pre-VE celebrations.
So much so both have created much interest from local papers, radio and tv. If ever there was an award for care home of the year then this one should win it. The staff treat residents as if they were part of their own family. To be honest, I cant praise them enough, thank you Harleston House!

Mum had a spell in hospital during September 2024. Mum didn't do well there but on return to Harleston House as been helped back to the best she can be. All staff have encouraged mum to do more. The daily activities have stimulated mum to participate more than she did before. To be honest on discharge
from hospital we thought mum wouldn't make Christmas. Harleston House helped her to have a great Christmas.

A My Lovely care home in beautiful grounds. My mum was well cared for and treated with dignity by the wonderful carers and nurses. My mum could be difficult but the staff always treated her kindly with a smile on their face. The rooms are kept clean and have recently had an update. The food is amazing
and if any resident is a bit fussy they will go over and beyond to make the person happy. Entertainment is brilliant.

The Manor

Our mum sadly passed away on 3rd January 2025 aged 94. She has lived and been cared for at The Manor for the past 3.5 years. All of the staff have been kind, polite, caring, respectful and understanding and have always treated our mum with the utmost dignity. There are weekly activities including bingo,
games, quizzes, animals visiting, singers, painting etc. They go on outings to the garden centre and are often out for walks or in the garden (weather permitting). The Manor is set in the most beautiful open grounds and garden. In the summer they have a BarBQ with a singer and raffle. They also have a wonderful Christmas Party. The rooms are spacious, en suite and most are recently refurbished. The food is exceptional, with a daily varied menu. We cannot recommend The Manor highly enough. The care our mum has received has been exceptional and we are so grateful to all of the wonderful carers and nurses who have looked after her and us over this time, thankyou.

Both my parents have been at De Lucy for nearly 4 years. Although they have very different needs, both are treated with kindness, compassion and care. The staff are brilliant and take their time to fully understand the requirements of all the residents. Many go beyond what their job requires of them.

Always when I visited I was impressed with all aspects of how the home was run. Calmness, professionalism, staff on hand to answer any questions. A nursing or care home is only as good as the staff working in it. The staff I came into contact with were lovely. Even more so at the end of life time.

Our overall experience is excellent. Dad has been treated with dignity and is looking better than he has for months. The care and support is wonderful. Staff are respectful and friendly. The management is obviously top class as the home is run so well. Dad's room is lovely. He has a window so he can
see the sky and we were able to put up his pictures and bring his own chair in. Everywhere is clean and well maintained. The food and drink look delicious - it's a long time since Dad has eaten so well. There are plenty of stimulating and fun activities going on daily and participation is not mandatory. Family as so pleased Dad is received the proper care as we discovered that we were unable to provide this.

Overall this is an excellent care home with very kind and friendly staff who are very helpful and good humoured. The home is very professionally managed with very organised activities and good support from the local NHS. Residents are treated with patience and compassion. Although getting entry as a
visitor can sometimes be slow and the food is apparently not always serviced as hot it is could be. I am overall very pleased with the service provided. I do however wish it was less expensive.

My family cannot praise the staff enough for all the care & attention they gave our dad whilst in the home. He was so very well looked after by everyone which gave us great comfort & reassurance.
