Bentley Court

There is a constant warm atmosphere when I visit my Dad, staff are positive, friendly , helpful, caring and sensitive to needs .
It is such a life changing event handing over care to others, this process was made so easy .
Communication is very good either in person or via the phone.
Dad's care
needs are met with dignity and diligence.
This review is regarding the whole time dad has been here.
Activities and entertainment are second to none, always something going on , residents interact happily ..
beautiful to see
There is an ethos that this is their home , residents happily move around, those who are able to.
Continuity of care is paramount to meet the unique needs of individuals this is demonstrated.
This morning I came into dad and he said '
put the kettle on bab ' he really feels at home .
All staff are a credit to this home making it a lovely place
Big shout out to the entertainment team
As a family we couldn't wish for a better service
Thank you

Larchwood House

from Gerry B (Son of Resident) published on 14 March 2025

Dont judge a book by its cover is the saying.
Mum has been a resident in Larchwood for nearly 3 years. We were recommended by a neighbour and we have since highly recommended to anyone who is in the unfortunate position of finding a home for a loved one.
There are several new homes in the area that
are all nice and shiny, but what are the carers like ?
The staff at Larchwood are 2nd to none , it really is a home for the residents, all the staff are so friendly and helpful yet very professional .
We can relax knowing that mum is getting the best care that she can.
Thank you to everyone at Larchwood

Elm Park

I just wanted to share how fabulous Elm Park Care Home is. The staff at Elm Park cared for my grandmother for around 7 months before she passed away. During this time they looked after her like she was their own relative, nothing was too much trouble, they treated her with dignity and respect. Nurses
here knew more than the doctors did with relation to medication that was safe for her to have administered, with her previous medical history. During her final days, the nurse contacted my mum and advised that we need to spend as much time with my grandmother, as she was deteriorating. For 3 full days and nights, 4 of us stayed with my grandmother, no restrictions were placed on our visitation.

Nothing was too much for staff, they were kind, considerate and compassionate. The home itself has many amenities, the food is great, the place is clean and it is very secure. I cannot give the care home and the staff enough praise, they deserve the premier league football player wage.

On the admission of my mother, what was so noticeable and reassuring was how attentive and welcoming the management and staff were. The nurses and caring staff are both knowledgeable and empathetic and have been very supportive in the care of my mother and have at times exceeded my expectations.

The home is always very clean and the staff are always working hard, they never seem to stop working. I don't think they could do any more for my mother in law. All her needs are taken care for by the home. We couldn't as for better.

Green Lane Care Centre

from Brett P (Son of Resident) published on 11 March 2025

I am so shocked that this care home has not been reviewed by the Care & Quality control commission.
They are so under-staffed and cannot cope with the patients that they have. The staff that they do have are mainly young and from overseas. With what I have seen, I have to assume not much training &
very little english speaking vocabulary. My mother last week pressed for help to visit the toilet & it took them nearly 90 minutes to answer her call. She has been in tears and doesn't even know why she was moved here.
Her only respite is that the physio people are visiting her 2-3 times per week and it's the only incentive she has to get stronger after her operation and get back home. On my visit today a gentleman had a 1pm appointment to do a risk assessment in the home & the management had all gone and stood him up, which sums up how this place is being run. Probably getting a ton of money from the council and not being wisely spent!

Reply from Joanna Fisk, Manager at Green Lane Care Centre

Dear Brett,Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns. We are truly sorry to hear about your experience. Providing high-quality care and support to our residents is our top priority, and we take feedback like yours very seriously. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience. We understand how important it is for residents to receive timely assistance and that is the reason why our nursing call is audited and monitored. Our training covers all mandatory requirements for health and social care needs. Whilst your mum is still at GLCC, if you would like to discuss this matter and see how we can address your concerns directly, please contact the management team at your earliest convenience so we can work on resolution Regards Joanna Fisk ( operations manager)

family are so pleased with the support and kindness that has been given to mum and her family.

Birch Tree Manor

My mum has been at Birch Tree Manor since September 2022 having been diagnosed with dementia. She has been treated with dignity and respect by all the staff employed there; be them permanent or agency staff. They all have an excellent relationship with my mum and she always has a good word to say about
their attentive nature towards her. The care she is given is exemplary from the cleaner to the senior nurses right up to the manager. I believe the home could do with a light makeover; my mum's room needs a lick of paint and the food can sometimes be a little repetitive; it's the people there that make the difference. They are courteous towards visiting family members and go out of their way to include us in activities. It really is like one big family. I am more than happy to recommend Birch Tree Manor.

The Hawthorns Care Home

from Tracey B (Daughter of Resident) published on 3 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Sadly, my mum passed away two weeks ago (at Hawthorns) having lived there for the last 4 years. Mum had dementia and I found choosing a care home for her, incredibly stressful, as I had no experience of the care system and you hear so much, in the media, that is negative.
I need not have worried. Hawthorns
soon became our second home and the staff, our extended family. Mum was happy there and she was cared for with kindness and compassion. As a family, we have so many wonderful, precious, memories of Mum's time at Hawthorns.
The manager's door was always open and if we ever had any concerns (rarely!) we could always speak to him, or his team.
During the last few days of Mum's life, the manager, his deputy and the staff could not have been kinder. Mum was treated with dignity and such incredible care and, as a family, we felt loved and supported, as the team gently guided us through those last few days.
We will be forever thankful to them all.

Reply from Mawuli Mensa, Home Manager at The Hawthorns Care Home

Thank you for your kind words, which I've shared with the team. Your mum was a pleasure to care for, and we're so pleased you were happy with the support she received. Wishing you and your family all the best. Mawuli
