I am so shocked that this care home has not been reviewed by the Care & Quality control commission.
They are so under-staffed and cannot cope with the patients that they have. The staff that they do have are mainly young and from overseas. With what I have seen, I have to assume not much training &
very little english speaking vocabulary. My mother last week pressed for help to visit the toilet & it took them nearly 90 minutes to answer her call. She has been in tears and doesn't even know why she was moved here.
Her only respite is that the physio people are visiting her 2-3 times per week and it's the only incentive she has to get stronger after her operation and get back home. On my visit today a gentleman had a 1pm appointment to do a risk assessment in the home & the management had all gone and stood him up, which sums up how this place is being run. Probably getting a ton of money from the council and not being wisely spent!

As a family, we can't tell you how pleased we are with this care home. My Mother-in-law has dementia and the staff are so patient with her, even throwing a party for her 90th birthday. Whenever we visit we are made really welcome. Her room is clean and there is always someone on hand for any problems,
although we have never had any problems here and cannot thank everyone highly enough, please keep up the good work.

From day one to leaving all staff were caring, tentative, very professional and extremely experienced in all areas. My mum was sad to leave, this says it all. Cannot thank all staff enough.

Mum has been at Owlett Hall since May 2024. Overall, our experience has been excellent. Staff are welcoming from reception, management, care staff, kitchen staff etc, all make you feel at home. Any issues are taken seriously and looked into promptly. Any issues are taken seriously and looked into promptly.
Many staff go above and beyond for residents.
The only negative thing I can say is that the laundry is a bit of an issue with regards to clothes going missing (even named ones) so I now take Mum's washing home and do it myself.

All in all a very nice, clean care home.
Management attentive but as in any occupations some carers more aware of a patients needs than others.
It's a shame the names of staff that completely stand out for excellent are not allowed to be used as quite a few go above and beyond for Mum.

Overall I am very happy with the standard of care provided to Mum. She is well looked after and I must especially commend one of Mum's carers in particular. She always engages with me and my sister when we visit and provides updates on Mum's well being. In fact, she goes above and beyond by updating
us via personal messages, when needed. We see Mum almost every day, which enables a fair judgement to be made. The home is kept spotlessly clean and the standard of food always seems to be first class.
Numerous activities are provided, although Mum is not always keen to readily engage but at least there is the option to do so. The home had to recently have a relatively short lock down to control a flu outbreak. The communication in keeping us informed both by email and telephone was excellent.
We have had a couple of concerns in respect of Mum's room, which have been dealt with. This related, in the main, to temperature control but it now seems to have been rectified.

Looked after my grandad in his last weeks. Nothing short of amazing. Couldn't be more grateful for all the support they showed, to us all. Nothing was too much, and communication and care was superb. I've seen a few nursing and care homes in my time. This is the best yet.

My grandad moved into Owlett Hall for end-of-life care, he was cared for with dignity and respect and every member of staff I came across was lovely and couldn't do enough for us, the carers the nurses the admin staff were all amazing. I am so grateful that the last few weeks of my grandad's life were
spent being looked after. It can be a scary/overwhelming choice choosing a care home but I am so glad we found Owlett Hall.

My Step Dad came to Owlett Hall after a terminal cancer diagnosis in November 24. I cannot thank the staff enough for all they did for him. Every member of staff that I or my family encountered during the time were kind, caring, and respectful and nothing was ever too much trouble, there was always
someone on hand to listen and reassure. You deserve an outstanding rating Owlet Hall!
I cannot thank you enough.

Would definitely recommend this care home, the doctors, nurses, physios and carers really looked after my mum, they were kind and caring, the rooms were clean and the food looked really nice.
She has been in another care home which I refused to let her go back to. This one was wonderful compared to
that one, what a difference.

My mother spent her final months at Sycamore Park Care Home and was very well looked after. My father checked himself in there aged about 96 because he knew too would be well looked after. The staff make it seem like home for the residents. It's always clean, comfortable and caring and there is none
of the stress you could sense in other institutions. I highly recommend this place.

My mum was in Green Lane Care Centre in September 2024.
The staff are lovely, very kind and caring. The room is kept clean. Reception staff are very welcoming and nice.
The rooms need decorating, a bit shabby. The food is very bland most of the time. The call bell goes off constantly, very loud, difficult
to sleep. Other residents allowed to wander into rooms at night.

Review of

Sycamore Park Care Home

from Havovy C (Next of Kin) published on 9 October 2024
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

I found Sycamore Park Care Home for my 95-year-old friend, who could no longer live independently. During our first visit, the nurse on duty patiently answered all his questions. I was glad he chose to stay, as the team was caring and attentive, even providing his favourite drink. Though he mostly stayed
in his room, he eventually made friends and enjoyed sitting in the lovely garden on sunny days and thoroughly enjoyed their outings (boat trip, wheelchair ride to a local supermarket or any other trip).
The staff always greeted me warmly and offered refreshments during my visits. After a stroke in August, my friend spent a month in the hospital but chose to return to Sycamore for his final days. The end-of-life care was exceptional, treating him with dignity and providing emotional support to those of us by his side.
I highly recommend Sycamore Park. If I could afford it, I wouldn't hesitate to spend my final years there.

Reply from Coral Abrahams, Home Manager at Sycamore Park Care Home
