My mother has been at Hazel Grove for a year and a half, after a long stay in hospital. Two other patients at the hospital also moved to Hazel Grove at the same time, and I have seen a very positive change in all of them. The whole team are incredibly accommodating and caring. I visited almost 30 care
homes before my mum moved here, this manager was the first manager who spoke about my mum with genuine care and consideration. She is also the only manager I came across who has a nursing background, which I believe makes a difference. My requests are always welcomed and the communication about my mum's care needs is very good. The layout of the care home is excellent, the decor updates have been really positive. I feel that my mum is safe here, this means the world to me. Thank you.

My mum loved it here, quickly becoming very fond of all the staff. As a picky eater, they cooked the things that she would eat, or that we took in. I would happily eat what the residents are given and fresh cakes are made each day!
Mum was assisted in being showered and dressed every day. She used
to say that if someone told her 2 months ago, she would be showered and dressed by a man, she wouldn't believe them. It turned out that one of her favourite carers was a man, but he made her laugh so she wasn't embarrassed. She took part in activities, which she really enjoyed. She sat in the garden and chatted with her new friends. She even put on a little weight. When she got really ill, they could have said she had to go to the hospice, but she desperately wanted to stay there. So, the palliative team supported her at the home. The St Margarets staff looked after her with such care and compassion, we will never be able to thank them enough. We still visit as we cannot say goodbye.

The home is run and managed to provide an exceptionally high standard of care to the residents through the diligence and commitment of the well-trained and enthusiasm of the mature staff. Very many of these staff have been employed at the home for a number of years and they display the most tender care
and concern for those to whom they are entrusted. Staff are never defensive, always cheerful, positive and open to suggestions and learn through their experience the most sensible advice and encouragement to relatives.
From management to nursing care, proving hot, nourishing meals, domestic duties, and maintenance, a most satisfactory level of care is imported.

My mother has been a resident at Hazelgrove since 2021. Her dementia has steadily progressed meaning that she is now non-verbal and needs to be hoisted whenever she's moved. This means that she requires constant care. She's unable to do anything for herself, but the staff and management at Hazelgrove
have been absolutely brilliant. She is so well cared for and always appears to be happy and smiling, unless, of course, she's sleeping, which she does do a lot!
Her room is bright and welcoming with her personal pictures and family photos on display. The room is always clean and tidy.
In the last twelve months, there has been a great deal of work carried out in the home with a much enlarged and improved communal/entertainment area which provides a great area for the residents to play games and join in activities that are organised daily.
All of the staff are caring and do their best to make Mum's life as comfortable as it can be, they have my heartfelt appreciation.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about St Margaret's Care Home! The staff here are truly exceptionally caring, attentive, and dedicated to providing the best possible care. The facilities are incredibly personal and welcoming, making it feel like a true home rather than just a care facility. My
nan has been staying here for a little while now, and I am thrilled with how happy and healthy she looks. The team at St Margaret's goes above and beyond to ensure every resident is comfortable and content. I would 100% recommend St Margaret's Care Home to anyone looking for somewhere safe, caring and loving.

My mother is currently residing at Hazelgrove and my father was a resident as well until he passed in 2020. It was due to the excellent care that he received from everyone on the team there, that the family decided to place Mum here. The genuine care shown by the staff extends to the whole family as
well, which at times is most welcome. They really do interact constantly with residents and they all have a good knowledge of the individual needs of each resident. I believe from my observations that this is due to good training and constant interaction from the manager, who has experience and a great passion for her role.
I would not hesitate to recommend this home.

I can not recommend enough the amazing care my father received at Hazelgrove. Every single member of staff, cleaners, carers, nurses and managers were endlessly caring and compassionate. They truly care about the residents and totally understand their needs and never judge. As my father became more
unwell, they would care for his changing needs without complaint. They also made sure I was coping and this was exceptional and something I will never forget.

My mum was a resident for 3 and a half years with dementia. She has sadly passed away. St Margaret’s is the most caring, loving, and friendly home. I cannot fault a single thing. Every person there, be it staff or residents and their loved ones all had a lovely relationship. It was like going to a family
home. My mum was so happy there. She got her mojo back when she was placed there. She became her happy self again and she made a special friend there and they became inseparable. In later years of life, it was heartwarming to see they found a bestie in each other.
If you are looking for a care home, then look no further. I would 100% recommend anyone placing their loved one in the care of the people at St Margaret’s.

Looking for a care home is such a personal decision, and when we viewed others, they just didn’t feel right, but St Margaret’s felt like home. It felt like a place where I was happy to bring my own children, a place where I felt relaxed and a place where I felt the residents were cared for and happy.
The atmosphere is relaxed, often with music playing, always warm and welcoming; this is not a spa hotel care home, this is a warm hug care home, a place where residents feel loved and little details matter. Like your favourite pair of slippers, it offers comfort and security to its 23 residents as they slow down their pace of life. The manager cares so much about each and every one of her residents, and this is also true of her staff. My grandad particularly loves one member of staff, who is an absolute legend in the way he treats the residents like they are his own grandparents. What more can I say, thanks so much for taking care of one of my favourite people.

Our Mum was a resident in this care home for about 16 months. The manager was so helpful and caring. As was all the staff. When we visited Mum we could see she was comfortable and nursing care was good even in her last hours. There has been refurbishment and a lovely dining room for residents to sit
together. I would recommend this home.

After a very turbulent 18 months, my husband found a place at Hazelgrove. He had last-stage Alzheimer's/vascular dementia. The care he received was amazing. The staff were wonderfully led by a great nursing team. He is treated with the utmost respect even to the time when he was washed after death.
Maybe the accommodation is a bit shabby but it is the care that counts!

My sister and I would like to thank, from the bottom of our hearts, all of the wonderful staff at St Margaret's for their compassion and care that they have shown our mum. Our mum was showered with love, treated with the utmost respect, always treated with such dignity, was spotlessly clean and very
happy. If you are looking for a care home, look no further, it's home from home. The food is home-made and delicious! I would always come away knowing that Mum was in such great care. Thank you to the manager, senior carer and everyone else involved, absolute stars.

My mother has been at Hazelgrove Nursing Home for over six years, and I have continued to be very satisfied with the standard of care she has received. There is strong leadership and good staff retention. If I phone, the nursing staff know who I am and always know how my mother is without having to
look up notes or information. I know if there are any issues, they will always phone me, and I find the staff helpful and very caring of their residents. I am very happy with the care she is receiving.

We have decided to take my wife to the UK from a care home in Spain to Hazelgrove Nursing Home in Brighton after having had not-so-good care and attention from staff there which lacked experience in dealing with dementia patients. We have seen the care and attention given to my wife and other patients
at Hazelgrove and she has been looked after by the carers and nurses and it is well managed by a caring knowledgeable and experienced manager. We are very pleased with the care and attention given to my wife. Thank you.

My mum has been at Hazelgrove since January 2018 as her previous care home could not cater for her changing needs. The staff at Hazelgrove always keep me up-to-date with any medical attention my mum needs. I'd recommend for friends/family of potential residents to consider Hazelgrove as it has a nice
"homely" and welcoming atmosphere.
