New Milton House

from R S (Power of Attorney of Resident) published on 4 April 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

The care offered is of the highest quality. The staff are so welcoming and friendly and my ex wife is being very well looked after. She is in a very lovely and loving environment. I was always sure this would be right place for her as both my parents were in there, some years back and the care is just
as good as it was then. My only observation/concern is that there could be some improvement in the fabric of some of the building, new UPVC windows to replace the old metal frames I believe are the only improvement necessary.

Reply from Charlotte Malpas, Home Manager at New Milton House

Thank you so much for your lovely review. We are so pleased your ex wife is having a positive experience. Thank you for bringing forward your suggestion, we are currently in the process of gaining quotes to replace the windows within the home.

Turnpike Court

I have nothing but praise for the staff at Turnpike Court. My mother lived there for the last two-and-a-half years of her life and was treated with nothing but dignity and respect. Her individual needs regarding her dietary requirements and her desire to spend periods of time in her own room were met
to her satisfaction. She formed good relationships with the staff and although her dementia meant that sometimes her behaviour could be difficult, this never affected the compassionate and understanding care that she received. Thank you.

New Milton House

from Jackie H (Daughter of Resident) published on 31 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Mum has been at New Milton House for five months. Am delighted with high level of care she receives. She has settled well which is largely down to the lovely staff, who always have a smile on their faces.
Her health wasn't the best when she entered but her care has been excellent and she is back to
top form.
I feel the interaction she gets with being amongst people has greatly benefited her as she is a very sociable person.
The standards of cleanliness around the home cannot be faulted.
Feel lucky to have found such a place for my mum as it takes a lot of worry from me.

The communication re my father's condition, ongoing changes in his health and knowledge of his health/progress

The staff & manager have worked with us really well to settle my mum into this care home. They are always friendly & helpful - nothing too much trouble.
Her room was painted before arrival & they have purchased new curtains too!
The only slight issue is that Mum is struggling to get on with the food.
However the chef has helped to offer an alternative.

Thank you for your kind words, its comforting to know Mum has settled well with us at Westy, All the teams aims at Westy is to try and ensure everyone is treated with kindness, Dignity and respect and that they feel comfortable with their surroundings and able to voice their choices and opinions. Following a fall that hospitalised my Dad, he was eventually moved to Gleavewood for respite care. He has been in Gleavewood for almost 6 weeks and the standard of care has been excellent which is helping Dad so much to get back to normal. I chose Gleavewood for my sister because it is small, friendly and calm. 3 staff members in particular were down to earth and helpful. Move from CareHome on South Coast was a worry. We needed staff who understood and would cater to my Sister's particular needs. So far I am pleased. One member of staff
is very involved and deals with any problems. One thing, perhaps big TV could be tuned to suitable i.e Nature/Sport programmes.

From the first time I visited the care home I was made welcome by the manger who is a very genuine and warm and friendly person. She sets the atmosphere of the place and makes it a "Home" not a "Care Home" in its feel. She is an absolute asset to the place. The whole team provided and excellent level
of care which manged to stay one step ahead even when proving end of life care. All of the staff worked together to provide support all of us not just the residents are forever grateful to the whole team.

Review of

Turnpike Court

from J B (Daughter of Resident) published on 10 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5

Dad was a resident in Turnpike Court from September 2023 until 3 days before he sadly died in January 2025. Staff were always warm, friendly and welcoming and the unit had a very 'family' feel. Residents were treated with dignity and respect and care was personalised. Activities were well planned and
organised, and there was a variety of group and one-to-one activities and trips out. Dad was extremely happy at Turnpike Court.

Review of

The Elms

from Y C (Daughter-in-law of Resident) published on 6 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My mother-in-law had been a resident at The Elms for almost 2 years. We,as a family, cannot thank the staff enough for the care ,kindness and compassion shown to her during that time,we were so reassured to know that she was safe and comfortable. We found every member of staff and indeed the manager
to be friendly ,approachable and professional, going above and beyond for all the residents ,treating them with dignity and respect.
The home is a little dated ,however ,the domestic staff work tirelessly to ensure high standards of cleanliness throughout. Food is homecooked, plentiful and of a high standard ,with plenty of drinks provided throughout the day.We cannot recommend highly enough, thank you.

Croftwood

from Colin B (Husband of Resident) published on 6 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

I have always shied away from placing my wife in a care home for a respite period and faced the issue with great trepidation. On my initial visit to Croftwood these thoughts were completely removed and I was delighted and relieved that my fears had been totally banished everything about the care home
its facilities its excellent staff and the feeling of satisfaction and the removal of my fear.

Reply from Cheryl Frankland, Manager at Croftwood
