My Nan had a 4 week stay in hospital and on the day of her discharge we were informed by her previous care home that they could no longer meet her needs - two weeks before Christmas!!!
My mum and I went to see Benslow Nursing Home as we liked what we saw online and from the second we arrived we were
welcomed with literal open arms, warm & compassionate introductions to every member of staff we passed, and the most wonderful homely, family feeling we could have ever imagined. The staff were so dedicated to their jobs and meeting their residents needs.
It was everything we could have wanted for my Nan, and sadly after just 10 days my grandmother passed away but in the most peaceful warm environment - we are so glad she spent her last days here.
We cannot express our gratitude to the manager and all her staff at Benslow for everything they did for Nan and us as a family in such a short space of time.
Thank you will never be enough.

My uncle came to Robin Hood House the start of 2024 and stayed there for just over a year. He had a wonderful stay at the home with the staff really caring for him.
I would highly recommend this home as it not only has amazing staff but is set in beautiful grounds with a lovely garden to walk round
in the summer months.
Many Thanks

Mum has been staying at Robin Hood House since November 2024 and has flourished both physically and mentally. Unlike in her previous care home, she is well fed and always happy whenever we see her. We believe that this is down to Robin Hood House being well led in their work and workplace.
Thank you
very much for all you do for Mum.

My father was only at Robin Hood House for a short time but he was moved there under very short notice and it proved an absolute godsend.
The staff are courteous, professional, sympathetic and kind, above all.
It can't be easy catering to the varying demands of the residents but there is a real warmth
that shines through everywhere you look.
Thank you so so much!

The care our mother received during her stay at Robin Hood House was outstanding. The whole team was brilliant. Their approach was one of compassion, and consideration for her specific needs delivered with humour and genuine concern for her welfare.
We can't thank them enough.

On arriving with my mum received an excellent warm welcome from all the staff. I stayed with Mum for a while to settle her in. When I left I felt so reassured that Mum would feel supported and cared for.
Such a lovely warm atmosphere in this home.
Credit to all staff. Love that the manager walks
around to chat with visitors and residents too.
Lots of lovely activities for residents.
It's so lovely to feel welcome and to have peace of mind on leaving.
An excellent example of how a care home should be.

We moved our mum to Highbury Rise at the beginning of September. Our experience of the care here for Mum has been very reassuring. Mum has been looked after very well, and all her needs are carefully monitored and met, nothing is too much trouble, and I feel she is very safe here.
Staff are very friendly
and caring, and food is very well cooked and presented, with options for individual requirements.
For a small care home, I think the standard is
very high.

Thank you for your review. We always aim to ensure our care is personalised for each resident and that they are treated with the utmost care & respect at all times. I will pass on your positive feedback to the staff team.

This is a care home that delivers a superb level of care. From the moment he stepped into Robin Hood House my dad was treated with kindness, patience, good humour and absolute respect. It wasn't an easy transition for him and yet he grew very fond of everyone there. The food is excellent, the pretty
garden is easily accessible and secure and the staff work hard to identify and respond to the individual needs and rhythm of each resident. We felt so lucky to have found such a peaceful place among the trees. It feels like a home in the true sense of the word and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Reply from Lorraine Simpson, Manager at Robin Hood House

My sister entered Robin Hood House after a sudden loss of ability to care for herself. She found the loss of her independence and need to rely on others difficult to deal with. Staff fully understood how she was feeling and managed her through this difficult period with sensitivity, compassion and a
huge amount of patience, qualities we observed in their relationships with other residents. My sister enjoyed the food and sitting on the garden terrace. Staff kept me informed of issues that arose and I felt confident that my sister was in a safe and caring environment.

My mum's been in care at Robin Hood House since August. She has dementia and Alzheimer's and was very much against going into care as she is a very private person and not much for socialising, but she settled in quickly and now spends her time out of her room. The staff are all lovely and there is a
friendly, caring atmosphere throughout. Mum's room is lovely with a TV, nicely decorated and airy.
Mum's enjoying the food, I have to get her bigger trousers!
All said I am happy she's settled so well.

I only see Mum every three weeks and only for 2 hours or so. It has been this way for three years now. I say the above to qualify what I say below.
Mum likes the staff here and we moved here easily in her residential care due to poor/under-trained staff. I can say I doubt we will ever feel the need
to move Mum from here. It would be easy but wrong to take the tone of an instruction out of context. The staff here do a very difficult job, coping with residents with varying needs, very well.

My Dad moved to Robin Hood House shortly after my Mum passed away. This was an extremely stressful time for my Dad. The manager and the staff were amazing and over the past couple of months, my Dad has settled in. All the staff really care and look after the residents with the utmost compassion. Robin
Hood House is set in beautiful peaceful grounds and there is a lovely secure garden where residents and relatives can sit and enjoy the sunshine. The manager and the staff are always so welcoming to visiting relatives and I feel that my dad is looked after, safe and secure. I would certainly recommend Robin Hood House.
