Throughout the six months of moms care, she was treated with dignity and respect, from management, nurses, care staff, cleaners, and even the receptionists. The care mom had at Hilltop Lodge was second to none. All staff went above and beyond in their duties to look after mom. Courteous and polite with
family members too. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Would highly recommend Hilltop Lodge.

Thank you for the care, love and support that you gave my Mom in the time she spent with you, my heart could burst. You gave Mom so much love, care, and dignity and loved her like family from management, reception, nurses and carers. Mom spent a little time in a few homes before she came here. Nothing
and I mean nothing comes close to Hill Top Lodge, be proud you are the best!

I wish to thank all the staff at Hill Top for providing my mother with such excellent care, dignity and respect. I couldn't have chosen a better place for her. She is happy and has made some close friends. I would recommend this care home without hesitation.

I will be forever grateful for everything you did for my grandad during the time he was at Hilltop Lodge. Four members of staff in particular and all the carers thank you from the bottom of my heart. I won't ever forget you for what you did for my grandad from football to National Pear Day to looking
after him.
Thank you, lots of love from me and family.

My mother has been in the care of Hilltop for some time now and I have nothing but respect for all the staff. You look after my mother. She is treated very well. She is always clean and the meals she gets a very nice and plenty of. The staff are very helpful and polite. I can recommend with honesty
Hilltop Nursing Home to anybody looking for elderly care.

Thank you so much for the care and patience you have. Mum came to Hilltop, with us knowing her stay was not going to be very long. But, the end-of-life care was absolutely first class. Her last day, so much care and respect was shown to her, that it made the day so much easier to cope with. Thank you.

My aunt has received very professional care with dignity and friendship which extended to myself and her brother. All staff from management to reception to nursing staff have conducted themselves very well. I would be happy to receive similar care myself should the need arise.

When dad first moved to the home, the staff were great. The manager came to see him and said "If there's anything you need or have concerns, tell staff to ask for me. You don't need to worry!" Famous last words! Dad was taken to hospital, Hill Top Lodge now says can't take him back because of his outbursts!
Dad has always been an independent man, being stuck in a wheelchair with dementia, upsets him. He doesn't want to be in a care home but has no choice as he's not safe enough at home. The Manager has refused Dad's return. I think this is appalling! Do they not know that dementia patients can show signs of anger etc? I don't think it's fair to add more stress to dad and our family, not knowing where he will go next, stuck in hospital. No wonder the NHS is on its knees, my dad is now occupying a bed when beds are needed. Hill Top should work with the NHS, not against them. The nursing staff are friendly, just need more dementia care training!

Reply from Abdul Ali, Manager at Hilltop Lodge

I am truly very sorry for this tremendous misunderstanding and the stress it must have caused you and your family. We were informed by the hospital that your father is not fit for discharge and that is the only reason he has not returned to us. We loved caring for him and would welcome him back once the hospital has confirmed he is able to return. We would be more than happy to talk with you regarding the options and how we can facilitate his return. Please do feel free to contact us to discuss further.

Our mother was treated wonderfully at Hilltop Lodge. All staff on Willow Floor treated her with love and affection and went above and beyond at all times. Our family were treated as part of their family.

My Mom has been in a few homes, but I must say this is by far the best. It's like family here, we all talk to each other so friendly. Anything you're not sure of they help, best they can do. The staff are so helpful. Activities are very good, always something going on. I would not like my Mom to be
anywhere, only here. Myself and my mom's granddaughter are well pleased, thank you all.

First-class care for Mom and also me. Nothing is too much trouble. Mom always says "They look after me so well." I couldn't wish for more. I know Mom is so well cared for and that gives me peace of mind. All the staff are approachable and you can tell it's more than a job - they care. I wouldn't hesitate
to recommend Hilltop to your loved ones. A huge thank you.

Myself and my family have never had any issues with the care home since my gran arrived. The staff are all very friendly, helpful, and attentive to the residents. Whenever we have needed assistance they have always been willing to help.
The home is always clean and we always see cleaning being done,
even while visitors are there. The range of activities for the residents is great, there is plenty of variety. My gran always looks happy when she participates and has settled in very well.

I am delighted with the service provided by the manager and his team. They are caring, attentive, and patient under difficult circumstances. The team tries to provide a "home from home" feeling and also provide entertainment when they can, indeed they are using a ring and ride to take residents to a
farm on the 3.6.24 which I am sure my Father and stepmom will enjoy. Long may the excellent care continue for many years.

My mum had to go into care as she has vascular dementia. It was a heartbreaking decision for the family. The staff there are very caring and friendly. She has settled in even though she says she doesn't like it there and doesn't want to be there. She is very confused about the dementia. It is a horrible
disease. She joins in with the activities and looks very happy in the photos that are posted in the home. It helps the family to know that our mum is being looked after well. I can't praise the staff highly enough for the great work that they are doing.

My mom was a resident until she went into hospital, then this care home refused to accept my mom back which meant finding a new home for her. My mom is dying and needs nursing care which this home clearly knew from day one so because she had a couple of ambulances and was taken to hospital because she
couldn't breathe, which she does have terminal lung cancer and COPD. This home refused to have her back which caused my mom so much upset as she had just really settled there and to have to find a new home. I wouldn't certainly put any of my family members in this place, always short staffed meals are freezing cold and when they get challenged on things by family members they don't like it, and that's another reason I think they didn't want my mom back as they were challenged over the stuff what was going missing out my mom's room.

Reply from Abdul Rahman Ali, Home Manager at Hilltop Lodge

We understand your disappointment that we couldn't re-admit your mother. We take some reassurance in the fact that you wanted her to come back after her stay in hospital, but unfortunately, she required a higher level of nursing care at that point and we did not have any rooms available in our dedicated nursing unit. We genuinely would have loved to welcome your mother back into the home, but we took this difficult decision as we strongly felt this was in her best interest from a clinical perspective.

A very nice place to be living. I like all the staff, they are all very friendly. The rooms are very clean. If I get sick, I would like to live here myself.
Best wishes to the home and staff. They must be very lucky to be working here.
I like the home very much.
