Ridgeway House

from Jesusa T (Sister of Resident) published on 5 February 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My sister required a hospice immediately and we were accommodated right away. The house manager has been extremely generous with warmth and welcome and ensured that personalised care is provided. We are in awe of the facilities and the service is top-notch. We cannot thank the whole team enough for
the overwhelming compassion and care we received.

Ridgeway House

from Helen C (Daughter of Resident) published on 3 September 2024
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

I have been so impressed with Ridgeway House since my dad moved there recently. The home always has a calm, relaxed and contended feel to it. The staff are always approachable and show such kindness and empathy with residents on an individual basis. The food cannot be faulted, the meals are to a high
standard and there is always plenty of cups of tea and snacks available. Residents are kept busy and there is lots of activities/games to keep them entertained, stimulated and engaged. The activities coordinator does a great job organising the activities and is always keen to include everyone to participate or if they prefer just sit by and watch. What is most important for us as a family is knowing that Dad is safe and well cared for and the compassion, genuine fondness and kindness is shown in abundance by all staff. I cannot thank everyone enough for everything they do in what is a very difficult and challenging job, staff should be very proud of the service they provide.

Ravenna Lodge

from Rachel C (Resident) published on 20 October 2023
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

I am a resident at Ravenna Lodge, I have been here for 5 years and all the staff have done since day one is support me to be independent, well since the new manager has come. She has pushed me to do my own medication, my own shopping, use public transport and now visit my sister a week at a time every
month. The staff have just always been there for me and helped me manage my behaviours and mental health. I feel Ravenna was the best place for me and is just amazing.

Spencer Place

from Beverley T (Mother of Resident) published on 1 February 2022
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My son settled in quickly and was welcomed by all staff. He was immediately assigned a keyworker, who has been extremely supportive to him. All the staff are excellent here, especially his keyworker. Any issues he has had have been dealt with quickly, helping him with benefits, cooking and shopping.
They are also available when he needs company on walks or even just a chat. I feel I can approach any staff member with any questions I have. Very happy with his placement here.

Review of

Orchard End

from M W (Father of Resident) published on 6 October 2021
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Our son has been a resident at this home for 11-months. He has settled in well, and we believe he is very well looked after. Sadly due to Covid restrictions, we have not been able to go inside the home or see our sons room. We have now had three lots of four nights home visits over the last two months,
he is happy to come home, and he is happy to go back to his home. In itself, this is self-explanatory regarding his care. He is always clean and tidy when we see him on garden visits and always smells nice. Unable to comment on room due to Covid restriction. No idea regarding value for money as it's paid for.

Reply from Eva Boyd, Marketing Manager at Orchard End

Thank you for the lovely review; it's great that your son is doing so well and is happy at Orchard End. Hopefully, you will be able to see his room soon.

Parkwood Lodge

from G R (Mother of Resident) published on 26 August 2021
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My daughter moved into Parkwood Lodge at the end of June 2021. She seems to have settled well. She has all her needs met and is keeping stable. She says she loves being there, enjoys routines and people. The care is very good and she has no problems. The environment is relaxing and clean. I feel like
I can relax a bit more as a mother. Thank you.

Review of

Ravenna Lodge

from Karen T (Mother of Resident) published on 10 April 2020
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 2.0 out of 5

Ravenna Lodge is run by Choice Care. The building was new when my son moved in (February 2018). I had high expectations and was told that staff and son would have support from behaviour psychologist specialists and that my son's needs would come first. This was not the case, the needs of service and
their polices came above my son's needs. Many staff unqualified, although some very caring, huge turnover in staff. Staff very overworked and expected to work long shifts.
I was very surprised when CQC awarded them good.

Review of

Ravenna Lodge

from Ayesha C (Resident) published on 8 March 2020
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 1.0 out of 5

I am a resident here at Ravenna Lodge and have been since it opened in 2018. The home is very nice, big and spacious, close to a supermarket, a couple of takeaways, a park, and it is not far from the town so it's definitely good for people that want to get out into the community.

The care, however,

leaves a lot to be desired, with needs not being met, staff not being regular (they are constantly changing) and in my opinion a lack of professional conduct.

Oakley Lodge

from Michelle B (Resident) published on 16 May 2019
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My daughter loves Oakley Lodge, she loves the staff. Every time she comes home to me she always can't wait to go back to Oakley. My daughter thinks of Oakley as her second home. The staff always do a wonderful job. What more could a mum ask for?
