Mountbatten Grange

from RITA M (Sister of Resident) published on 15 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My sister became a cherished resident in Mountbatten Grange in October 2024. We, (her family) were uncertain how she would settle in her new home, having had one to one care in her own home for several years. But, from day one her arrival was a great success, both for her and her anxious family.
She was charmed by the activities and stimulation.
Her medical needs were monitored weekly (and more frequently when needed.) Her usual routine of little treats was maintained and her hair and nails, always so important to the glamorous lady that she was, were also monitored meticulously.
Because of her progressing dementia, she could not handle incoming calls from members of family and so we had to rely on the staff in Mountbatten to keep us fully informed. No matter how often we phoned, regardless of timing, queries were always addressed with friendliness, good humour and caring comments. This was a great comfort to us as a family.

Newbury Grove

I can not fault Newbury Grove Care Home. I moved my Father here from the south coast 2 years ago. From day 1 the carers looked after him incredibly well. Always keeping me informed of the littlest things. The home never smelt 'off', always clean and fresh. The cafe downstairs was always busy, with
bingo games, birthday celebrations, or residents just hanging out! All the staff are incredibly friendly, I got to know them all, carers, entertainers, cooks, handyman - all are so friendly. For a establishment which has to deal with so much death and illness, the general atmosphere is happy, I never felt sad, even in the last days of my Fathers life, everyone was so happy - and so it should be! I would recommend Newbury Grove to anyone.

The staff are amazing, They really look after the patients in their care
The building is kept very clean, Plus the food is tasty and plentiful and if the patient does not like the what is on the menu.
Then the kitchen make up something which the patient has requested.

Safe and well cared for. The Home offers excellent service not only to the residents but also keeping the family and carer updated which is so important. There were issues regarding the quality of food but that has now been resolved. The manager is approachable and always wants to hear from residents
and family in the event something needs looking at. The staff seem a lot happier now he is in charge rather than with previous managers. Have no issues and well done for running a good ship.

Mountbatten Grange

from G W (Son of Resident) published on 23 February 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

We needed a care home quite quickly in Windsor for about 3 months. Mountbatten Grange isn't cheap by any means however it's a few notches up in terms of surroundings, decor and furnishings. It's a posh care home without a doubt! All of this is of course a consideration but not anywhere as important
as the personal interaction that my mum would be receiving from the staff. The question is do the carers and staff really care? Well, when my mum finally left Mountbatten Grange there were tears not just from my mum but the staff as well and that tells you all you need to know. The staff are brilliant and they and the home come with a 5-star recommendation from me, no question!

Reply from Tracey Van Zyl, Home Manager at Mountbatten Grange

Thank you very much for your positive feedback.
We are delighted to hear you and Mum had a good experience with our staff and the care provided. Personal interaction and delivering the highest standard of care are at the heart of what we do and we truly appreciate your recognition. Your feedback means a lot to us and we continue to strive for excellence in every aspect of care.

We moved mum into Mountbatten Grange several weeks ago. It got to a point where she needed 24-hour care. From my first phone call, the whole team have been so supportive. It's a huge decision but the team have always been there to support the family not just Mum. It's a home from home and we know mum
is being well cared for. The residents have so much to keep them occupied and engaged. For any family, it's a huge move but
We can honestly say the Mountbatten Grange family are amazing supportive and understanding of individuals' needs.

The full range of emotions are at play in taking, justifying and then living with the decision to move a loved one into a Care Home. Whilst it's a difficult one, knowing that it will never quite be a "Home-from-Home", Mountbatten Grange comes as close as it could possibly get.
It is not just the consistent
level of professionalism demonstrated by all members of staff from receptionist, entertainer, nurse, chef to manager; it is the collective generosity of spirit, kindness and empathy of an entire team that sets it apart.
It feels that you are not just engaging a care home, you are entrusting an extended family.
It is this that makes the decision the right one for me, my family and my parent.

As a family we were very unsure as to how Dad would settle into a care home. His stroke and Alzheimers left him unable to communicate very well and he was very depressed. Since moving into Parsons Grange he has found his smile, laugh and voice again. He is now calm and peaceful and often says "ooo it's
very nice here isn't it".
All of the staff are lovely, friendly and approachable and the whole place has a lovely atmosphere about it. We visit Dad whenever we are able and we all really enjoy a cup of tea and cake/pastry in the cafe area. The activities ladies work really hard to make sure everyone has an opportunity to join in with different activities or trips out. The choice and quality of food looks great too.
So pleased we chose Parsons Grange for our lovely Dad.

My dad has recently joined the care home, we were welcomed at the door by the manager and 3 members of staff, everything was explained to us, we had a show around, its so lovely and clean. The manager and all her staff are amazing, we had so many questions, they were all answered, very professional
and families are welcome to visit at any time. The staff encourage my dad out to the other areas, he can be quite stubborn, all the staff are patient, kind and caring. He has settled so well and as a family we are happy that my dad is safe and well cared for, peace of mind for us. Thank you all so much.

My nan joined Clara Court late last year. My family and I were very concerned for her welfare living alone, with a recent diagnosis of Lewy Body Dementia, she now needed to have access to 24/7 help if needed, which my family and I was unable to provide independently.
Clara Court was highly recommended
and my family and I cannot be happier with the care and treatment provided for my nan.
Upon entering the home, we are always greeted by reception, management, all care, laundry and kitchen staff.
My nan recently had a fall and we were informed immediately and kept up to date with progress every hour, the care and treatment not only to my nan, but to all the other residents is exceptional. All the staff go above and beyond to facilitate the resident along with their loved once when visiting, even offering my 6 year old son drinks and snacks which he will kindly accept without hesitation Thank you!

from William B (Husband of Resident) published on 27 January 2025

The staff at Winchcombe Place were most supportive of both my wife and myself. They were friendly, patient and professional. Once as we walked along a hallway one of the carers approached us. As she past my wife raised her arm and embraced the young carer - that warmth was comforting to witness. My
wife avoided participating in group activities but on occasions the gentile encouragement from staff overcame her resistance. For the first two months of her stay I visited my wife from 11 am to 2 pm. We chatted in her room, had a coffee and pastry and then went to one of the smaller lounges and listened to R&R music on the CD player. My wife found the noise of dishes etc. in the dining room disturbing and to facilitate us the staff brought the meal to another small lounge that had a dining table. After those first two months it was suggested that my health would benefit if I reduced the frequency of my visits. I accepted this good advice and reduced my visits to four days per week. Sadly my wife passed away in her sleep. I am most grateful of all the support I received.

Credit where it's due. It must be the hardest decision in anyone's life to see their loved one's or lifelong friends put into care albeit for their well being and safety in old age.
We are absolutely delighted with our friends progress in just over two weeks of being in Queens Court, from where she
was in herself to where she is already is incredible.
Having met some of the kind selfless staff the common denominator is they clearly have one aim and that is to make the patient as happy and comfortable as physically possible catering for each individual's needs.
It is so lovely after a visit knowing our friend is in safe hands receiving the best possible care more so it is lovely to see her eyes smiling once again.
You can't put a price on a loved one's life.
Well done team Queens Court and Thank you.
