Overall, we are pleased with Mums care. Sometimes Mum has her day clothes over her pyjamas, perhaps she can be encouraged to take her pyjamas off. Also, a dead plant stayed in mums room for some time, I was surprised it hadn't been taken away. When Mum runs out of toothpaste and shower gel we do replace
when asked. But I am surprised basics are not included and spare supplies aren't kept on site for the use of. It's a good job we are local so can replenish these for her. Also, it is a shame that Mums personal items go missing. Clothes and jewellery, she is still missing her Radley watch.

This is an exceptional care home. The admin staff are professional & friendly. The reception staff are welcoming and will always help with any problem. The 'med' team are very professional and meds are always delivered at the correct time. The carers are all friendly & helpful. The activity team provide
activities to stretch the brain. When I leave shortly I will have left my second family behind.

We travelled down from Scotland to see my wife's aunt on her 103rd birthday. A lot of the residents came down to the lounge to be with her. The mayor and his wife turned up to wish her a happy birthday along with a local tv station. Snacks were laid on and it was a great day for my wife's aunt. The
staff were all so friendly and helpful. This is definitely the best place she has been in.

I am writing to express my deepest gratitude to you all for the exceptional care, kindness and professionalism you showed towards my mother during the final year of her life.
Vascular dementia is cruel. It can be incredibly challenging, and looking after my mother required patience, compassion and
skill. You treated her with unwavering dignity and respect, ensuring that she felt safe, comfortable, and valued. Knowing that she was in such capable hands bought immense comfort to me during what was an emotional and difficult time.
The warmth and dedication of your team were evident in every interaction . From the smallest acts of kindness to the expert medical and emotional care you provided, I always felt reassured that she was in the best possible place. I am profoundly grateful for the love and support she received.
Your work makes an immeasurable difference, not just to the residents but to the families who entrust their loved ones to you.
You are good people, doing good work.

My Mum stayed at Dashwood Manor for two weeks in February. From the start, she was made to feel very welcome by all the staff and fellow residents and enjoyed the friendly atmosphere. The care she received was first-rate, she felt safe and secure, and she particularly enjoyed spending time in the coffee
lounge and library. Altogether her experience was excellent, and we would have no hesitation in revisiting on another occasion.

Carpathia Grange

from J T (Daughter of Resident) published on 25 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

We cannot speak highly enough of Carpathia Grange and the amazing team who work here. Our mum has been a resident for over four years and has high complex needs, none of which seem to phase the staff at all. The empathy and support we and our mum has been shown and given over these years is exemplary.
Our main reason for writing this review today is to thank the staff for never, ever 'giving up on mum'. They continue to look for ways to involve her, to keep her safe and to give her some quality of life in extremely challenging circumstances. Their kindness and enthusiasm shines through and we are so grateful for this. An example is the regular Namaste sessions, which are organised and run by the staff. We had the opportunity to join mum for a session and could see the calmness this brought mum. In summary it's the doing those extra things, going the extra mile that we continually see at Carpathia Grange and makes it a special place.

Dashwood Manor

from Michéle O (Daughter of Resident) published on 24 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My great experience goes back not just for March this year but in fact since my Mummy has been in the care of Dashwood. The carers always go above and beyond with their care, their entertainment, keeping me and my sisters updated on all up and coming events and meetings. The care is like I never imagined,
so caring, delicate, preserving dignity where possible, being a friend to hold Mummy's hand when needed and also there for us relatives too. The care home is immaculate in presentation. Right from reception through to the parts of the home that I frequent weekly, all staff have a smile for us and a chat if they can. Recently my Mummy had her wish come true, Dashwood and my sisters and I went to Crufts, a brilliant day out and Mummy's carers were amazing, Mummy had a perfect day. I am so happy with the care Mummy is receiving and long may it continue. Thank you Dashwood for everything you do.

Reply from Leahanne Wilkinson, Home Manager at Dashwood Manor

Thank you very much for taking the time to leave us such wonderful feedback about your experience of Dashwood Manor. I know the whole team were emotional at mum's excitement for her wish to visit Crufts. The day was made so special with you and your sisters experiencing the day with her. The wishing tree shows that older age and dementia are no boundaries for fulfilling wishes. We want peoples time with us to be as fulfilling as possible.
At Dashwood Manor Care Home - Care UK we set a high standard for ourselves, so we are very pleased to hear that your experience with us has been a positive one, from the reception team, housekeeping, kitchen and care colleagues. Our aim is to ensure that Dashwood Manor feels like home not just for the residents, but relatives and friends too.

Thank you I will pass on your compliments to the whole team. From the whole team at Dashwood Manor.

My mother's stay was pleasant, the staff were helpful, pleasant and supportive. The facilities, for example the hairdressers and coffee shop, were a big asset. The whole care home is well-presented, clean and has a happy atmosphere. She felt safe and secure. The food could be improved with a little
imagination but was adequate. The dining room was very well presented. She enjoyed her stay and had conversations with other residents and staff, although more stimulating activities would have been welcome.

We hold regular residents meeting's where the residents are asked for feedback, ideas or wish's and changes are made. The activities are based on residents wants and wishes, and varied weekly. It was a pleasure to spend time with and get to know her.
