My mother attends Mills Meadow three days a week. During March she has received excellent care. The activities have been fun, stimulating and have had a positive impact on her overall mental and physical health. The carers are kind, professional and provide individual attention to everyone attending.
The three course lunches have been delicious and nutritious and my mother enjoys them very much. A big thank you to the staff at Mills Meadow.

Kentford Manor

from Lynne W (Daughter of Resident) published on 3 April 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Our father stayed at Kentford Manor from September 2023 until his passing in March 2025. Initially there for respite care, he had to stay longer after a fall. For 18 months, our father bravely faced heart failure and edema. The Kentford Manor team provided exceptional care, including catering, laundry,
cleaning, and medical support, alongside genuine companionship, ensuring he never felt lonely. As regular visitors, we appreciated the compassionate reception team and management, who facilitated open communication and efficient operations. The decision to move to a care home is significant, and Kentford Manor might be right for those finding self-care increasingly difficult. The wonderful team at Kentford Manor provided invaluable support to Peter and our family, especially in the last weeks of his life. We are forever grateful to these amazing people for their unwavering care and companionship during such a challenging time.

Kentford Manor

from Lisa W (Daughter of Resident) published on 3 April 2025

Our dad, came to Kentford Manor initially for respite care and like it so much he stayed as an independent resident which provided him with a good routine great nursing staff and excellent care. His washing and cooking was all done for him and he was very content and that gave us a piece of mind that
he was being well cared for with regular checks (thanks to a particular staff member) sadly a fall last month turned everything on its side. Dad spent time in hospital before coming back to Kentford Manor to receive end of life care.
Once again the staff, all of them blew us away with their compassion and kindness from the two staff members as you arrive to three other staff members in particular the list goes on for the fabulous care staff, then are deep felt thanks to the Nursing team for the amazing treatment you gave to our father. A particular member of staff holds a special place in our hearts!
Lifestyle coordination your team are angles
We will be forever grateful not only for the respect you gave to our dad but you showed to us

Reply from Julia Forsyth, Home Manager at Kentford Manor

Thank you so much for your kind words. We always believe that we extend our caring abilities to our residents and families. It gives us a sense of accomplishment that you have felt the staff are kind and empathetic.

The staff, the atmosphere and the decor at Glastonbury Court are all lovely! I felt very relaxed about my husband being there while I had a much needed rest! Great cafe with very nice home made cakes and lots of seating areas in the pleasant garden. This was my first use of a care home for some respite
care and I was so worried about the whole thing ! But the staff really made me feel very confident and comfortable about leaving my husband in their capable hands.

As a family, we are so grateful to have chose Mills Meadow for our mum. As her needs have increased over the last 18 months, staff have shown her every care and kindness possible. We can relax knowing that she is content and so well looked after. From reception to care staff and housekeeping, everyone
is so friendly, treating residents and family members alike with respect, interest and understanding.
Recently a member of staff visited Mum in hospital travelling 20 miles on her day off because she knew it was hard for any of us to get there. That says it all really. Thank you, everyone at Mills Meadow.

Hartismere Place has been really great with my aunt in respite. Staff arranged for regular medical reviews after her fall and treatment, helped her get her confidence back with showering and bathroom tasks. The facility enriches the lives of the residents with very good food and great rooms and activities.
My aunt particularly liked the on site chiropodist and hair dresser who really did make a a great job with her hair.
The staff at the facility are really well trained and observant of residents needs and preferences. The housekeeping is professional and well delivered and the standards in the facility are very high.
It's great to have a resident staff dog on site and guest dogs are made welcome which is important for residents who miss their companions. The office team are really knowledgeable about all aspects of care and go the extra mile to assist you in all aspects of the care situation which has been invaluable in our experience.

The home is warm, inviting, stimulating for all the residents.the food they have is amazing, always a selection on the menu.
The staff could not

We are kept informed via the app on what is happening, together with an email each week of the activities on offer.

Kentford Manor

from A P (Partner of Resident) published on 12 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

During both the short & long 4 weeks, that my partner received End of Life Care at Kentford Manor, for me, one service provided stood out. Kentford is not like a hospice. It is a large purpose built home, in which the precious end of a person's life could easily be lost, amongst the other provision.
Upside of this, is the business can afford to employ a Customer Care manager, part of whose responsibility is supporting two way communication with family, loved ones, the service user and others. Had this person not been there to mediate, the loss of my partner would be even more difficult to face than it is. Professionally neutral, she remains extraordinarily empathic, intuitive, considerate, caring and kind. I hope she never loses her touch, as the service she provides is indispensable.I cannot thank the home enough for their gentle and inclusive welcome, ensuring that the quality of my last hours with the deceased, were as good, for both of us as possible, under the circumstances.

I'm absolutely blown away by the care my husband has had since he became a resident, not only for him but for how I'm thought of too with everything.
This was one of the hardest decisions to make and the most emotional time to face. The support and guidance has been outstanding by everyone, from the
care my husband is given, to the daily food choices available including their wonderful little cafe, which even family and friends can use when visiting too. There is always a great choice of daily activities to take part in as well. One of the most impressive things alongside the outstanding care, is the cleanliness throughout the whole place, I honestly can't fault a thing. The staff have done wonders to help build my husband's confidence again at what has been one of the hardest and most anxious times. I really can't thank them enough and feel so blessed to have found Asterbury Place.
