Brook Court

My father needed the services of a Care home as he was becoming very unwell. From the start of his stay the staff went above and beyond to accommodate his various requests and took the time to ask us about him and his life and what interested him so they could make a connection whilst he stayed at Brook
Court. Despite his rapidly declining health, they constantly kept us in the loop were always on hand to answer our many questions and during our visits took the time to talk to us, check our own needs and made us tea and snacks, delivered just at the right moment!
Our family have no doubt Dad was absolutely in the best place for the last few weeks of his life. He died peacefully. The nursing staff were so kind, gentle and understanding of his last few hours and could not have been more kind and genuine to ourselves during a difficult and sensitive time. We were so lucky to have chosen Brook Court for Dad. Thank you to the staff for their kindness and support.

My husband has been a resident at Perry Manor for over 5 years. Although his illness is progressing which causes him to display disruptive, distressing behaviour, the staff from all departments within the home continue to care for both of us with great compassion and sensitivity.

My father-in-law lived at Brook Court for the last 7 months of his life having moved from another provider we were very unhappy with. The home is always clean and tidy. Meals are catered for individual needs. The staff at Brook Court are really caring, sensitive to need and very respectful of residents,
treating them with dignity. It is entirely down to the care that my father-in-law received from the staff that his life was extended beyond what was expected. Staff are approachable, warm and friendly, not only to residents but also to families. I have felt very supported by staff during the difficult time of my father-in-law passing away. Especial thanks to his carers for their kindness during a very sad time for us as a family.

My brother was transferred from a previous care home to Perry Manor. I was amazed at the contrast in what care actually meant. Perry Manor were on a completely different level regarding respect, dignity and compassion shown to my brother. He lived at PM for two years, without any change in standard
of care and became part of the home/family. All staff are attentive and professional with the residents at heart.

My mom has been at Brook Court for nearly two years. She is a resident on the dementia unit and is treated extremely well. I can't praise the staff highly enough. They know her inside out and any concerns are dealt with quickly. She maintains some freedom and is given choices. They support us as a family
also, giving updates and telling stories about what they have been up to.
Not one for arts and crafts, jigsaws etc., lifestyle staff involve Mom in other daily tasks to keep her involved and engaged in new things. They also offer day trips and visits to garden centres and try to grant residents "wishes" from the wishing tree, big or small.
Rooms and communal areas are exceptionally clean and tidy, thanks to an amazing housekeeping and maintenance team. The hairdressing service and chiropodist offer the chance for residents to feel proud of their appearance. We use both services and it makes us, as a family, happy that she is her best.

In Chandler Court they have a wish list, my mum made a wish to Ski and on the 7th January 2025, Chandler Court made that wish happen. My mum looked so happy. It was her life long wish and Care UK made it happen. I can't thank everyone involved enough. Both my parents are in Chandler Court and I can't
thank all the staff enough for their care and compassion to both mum and dad. You made lovely memories not just for mum but for all our family to remember.

Chandler Court

from Sarah C (Wife of Resident) published on 3 January 2025

My husband was failed by this home during respite in September. When he returned home after 10 days his hygiene had been so poor he had a dreadful skin rash requiring medical intervention and treatment for 5 days to resolve. Despite the Homes own records stating his compliance and minimal input needed
he was only showered twice during 10 days. He only took part in activities twice and did not see fresh air for the whole time. After an investigation and input from the Safeguarding team the Home agreed that the care had fallen short of what was promised. The dementia wing is fairly new and needs a lot more knowledge and understanding of dementia in order to support those relying on them. There seemed to be an over reliance on agency staff resulting in poor communication - my husband was repeatedly referred to by the wrong name which I was told was due to agency staff. This is on the surface a beautiful home but in my opinion falls short of providing good quality dementia care.

Reply from Samantha Debenham, Reviews Team at Chandler Court

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback for Chandler Court. I am sorry to read you feel your husband was failed during his respite stay in September. At Care UK, we hold ourselves to high standards and I am sorry we did not meet these expectations. I understand your concerns and complaint has been through our formal complaint process. I would like to assure we will always reflect upon any complaint and lessons have been learnt and training has been implemented. We understand the importance of the activities and the lifestyle of our residents, and I am sorry this did not happen. Actions have been put in place to ensure this improves. I would like to thank you once again for taking the time to leave feedback. Best wishes.

My wife's move into care was processed with dignity and consideration. It has been a very difficult transition for my wife, her condition not helping her emotional state. All staff involved have been extremely kind, understanding and proactive in sourcing workable and effective solutions to provide
comfort and reassurance. Although it has taken some time for her to settle the patience of the caregivers has been outstanding.
Communication and feedback have been first-rate. The team involved with my wife's care have always made time to talk to me, answer questions and happy to discuss future steps and involve me in care planning. They have also offered me support acknowledging the issues associated with coming to terms with placing a partner in care.
No one wants to be in this position. But I am secure in the knowledge that my wife is safe, cared for, and treated with dignity.

We had to move my mother from her previous care home as her needs changed. At such a difficult time, I came across Chandler Court when looking for somewhere to move mum to. From my initial telephone enquiry and visit, to today, I have been immensely impressed by the professional, compassionate way I
(and more importantly my mum) have been treated. The staff are amazing. Mum loves all of the activities, especially any with dancing, and popping to the coffee shop when family and friends visit her. The move to Chandler Court has been positive for mum and for me. Thank you.

The whole process of pre-admission was very well arranged and my wife's admission assessment was very sensitively handled.
Once my wife was accepted for a place, the exchanges of information were very clear and sensitively dealt with.
We had the chance to see my wives proposed room and asked what
we would like to see in the way of pictures etc. We brought clothes etc prior to admission to make the day of admission easier for us all. Everything that was promised was done perfectly. The day of admission could not have gone any better and thanks to the efforts of your team, my wive seems to be settling very well. We are extremely pleased with everything so far at Chandler Court. Thank you all so much.

When my uncle needed to move into a care home, I wanted that care home to be Chandler Court and - what can I say - they have not disappointed. The staff have been consistently kind, supportive and helpful and have ensured that my uncle settles into his new home; communication from the team has been
great, including our first Resident of the Day call. The food at the home is of a consistently high standard and alternatives are always available at request. Thanks to all the team for making a difficult time for the family that much easier to navigate.

Dad is extremely well cared for at Perry Manor. It has been his home for several years and the team has become his other family.
Communication is fantastic, we never need to worry that any part of his condition and care happens without us being advised of it.
The kindness and consideration shown by
his carers and also support staff and management is second to none and truly appreciated.

I am constantly very impressed with the care given to patients at Perry Manor Care Home in Worcester. Nothing seems too much trouble and carers are always pleasant and respectful to residents. The home is very well managed and staff well trained.
My husband has been unwell for two weeks with a chest
infection and temperature. A doctor has seen him, prescribing antibiotics and carers have been excellent in looking after him, helping him to eat and drink, and patiently caring for him. I am kept informed at every stage.

My father-in-law has been a resident at Perry Manor since June 2024 having arrived there with more complex dementia needs. Since arriving he has settled in extremely well and although there have been some behavioural issues the staff have responded to his needs in a positive manner. As a result, he
now seems more calm and content in his new surroundings. The staff always greet you with a smile and are friendly and respectful to the residents. The manager at the home is very approachable and her door is always open for a chat. The home itself is always welcoming, it is bright and immaculately clean. The cafe area offers an excellent choice of complimentary drinks and snacks. In conclusion, there is nothing negative I can say about Perry Manor, and would recommend it to anyone having to make the difficult decision of placing a family member into a care home.

Well, where to start? My dad has been a resident of Perry Manor since June of this year, he moved from another care home that could no longer provide the care he needed due to his worsening dementia. Since being at the home my dad's behaviour which can be challenging has vastly improved. The dementia
unit is staffed by the same people meaning the residents get to know them and build a relationship and the staff get to know the residents, their ways, their needs, and triggers. The staff are absolutely wonderful and nothing is too much trouble. The home itself is kept spotlessly clean and so welcoming, that every member of staff greets you with a smile. The manager's door is always open, to listen help, and support residents and families on their dementia journey. I can see that my dad is so well looked after, he's always clean, dressed nicely, and treated with respect and I know he feels loved and safe. This means so much to me, that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this home to anyone.
