My father came to Hallmark Arlington Manor following a lengthy stay in hospital and I have been so impressed with the standard of care he has received in the nursing community. He has been treated with so much kindness and respect and the carers really do go above and beyond, not only for the residents,
but also for their families. The nursing staff are extremely knowledgeable and their 24/7 availability is very reassuring. My father particularly enjoys all the food and the home has been readily able to accommodate his changing dietary needs by pureeing his food and providing him with a soft diet, while maintaining very high standards of presentation, which he really appreciates. Throughout his time at Arlington, my sister and I have felt reassured that my father is in the best possible place for him and would thoroughly recommend Arlington for nursing care. As well as being very comfortable for the residents, it provides a really friendly and welcoming environment for relatives to visit.

Thanks so much for the kind words. We have been so pleased to be able to support him and all the family during this tough time. Our kitchen team try really hard to ensure the food and nutrition is at a very high standard for every single resident, even if they have differing needs so I'm very glad that has helped. Kind Regards.

I have been most impressed with the high level of care at Hallmark Arlington Manor. The staff are professional and caring, they are quick to respond to any requests I make on my parents behalf. My parents health needs are well monitored and hospital visits have been arranged when needed. This has take
a great weight off our minds.

Mum has been at Hallmark Arlington Manor since May '24. As her confusion has increased, the staff constantly strive to make her life full of happiness and monitor her health with professionalism. The activity schedule is very well organised with fun things to do all the time. Mum has lots to talk about
every time I visit; the mums, babies, and alpacas are her favourites!

Thank you so much for your words. I always have such a lovely chat with her, and her smile never fails to lift us all. She is such a valued member of our family.

My mother came to Arlington for respite care following an operation. She enjoyed her time there, having said that she would never go to a care home, and says she would be happy to go back if necessary. The personal care was attentive and the medical care very good. She really enjoyed the quizzes, crosswords
and music performances. Being a competent artist she did find the art and craft sessions much too basic and not catering to anyone with any ability - this is something which could be improved on.
She really liked the food which was of a high standard, particularly the home made soups which varied every day. The large cinema screen was great for watching Wimbledon and the Olympics! The cafe is a great spot for residents to sit and read papers or just enjoy some company and also for visiting relatives to enjoy the nice coffee and cakes!
The garden is lovely and so well kept and much used in the summer. I would recommend Arlington Manor to anyone looking for great care.

Reply from Martin Dickson, Customer Relationship Manager at Hallmark Arlington Manor

Thank you so much for the detailed feedback and lovely to hear she enjoyed her time here so much. We will definitely look at improving the variety of the arts and crafts sessions as well. She was a lovely resident during her time with us, and would be very welcome if she ever wanted to return. Kind Regards, Customer Relationship Manager

My mother stayed at Arlington Manor for 4 weeks of respite care after a long hospital stay. When she arrived she was very apprehensive, but was instantly welcomed by all the staff she came into contact with. During her time there Mum and all of us were made to feel very welcome and we saw a vast improvement
in her health and general well-being, which we feel is due to the excellent care she received. When we talk about her stay she readily says how lovely everyone was and how she realises that without the care she received there she probably would not have recovered as well as she has, which considering she is 94 yrs is quite remarkable!
We would certainly hope that in the future should either of our parents need full time care that they could stay at Arlington.

Thank you so much for the very kind review. All of you, but especially your mum were wonderful additions to our Arlington Manor family while she was with us. It was lovely to see her recovery during her stay, and we would welcome her back with open arms, even just to say hi if she likes. Kind Regards, Customer Relationship Manager

Our mother came in for a month's respite. It was her first experience of a care home and she was understandably apprehensive. But she didn't need to be! She had a wonderful experience; every time we saw her she was happy and laughing and having a great time and she had nothing but praise for the amazing
staff. Her care was exceptional. Thank you very much from the three of us.

I am a 93 year old widower, previously looking after myself in an independent living complex for several years. I was rushed into hospital in August with a fever and confined to bed for almost 5 weeks before the appropriate medication was identified, resulting in extensive muscle loss and difficulty
in walking unaided. I have an underlying inoperable cancer for which the recommended regime is palliative care. Hence the decision to move into Arlington Manor. I am still research active in my scientific field, with regular contacts worldwide.
It is perhaps too soon to write a full review of my experience of Arlington Manor. I am certainly impressed by the diligence and friendliness of the staff who all greet me by name. I am most critical of the restaurant menus; the food is perhaps too bland for my taste. The restaurant staff do their best, but I sometimes find it difficult to understand their accents, and they do not always understand what I am asking for.

Reply from Martin Dickson, Customer Relationship Manager at Hallmark Arlington Manor

Thank you kindly for your review. It has been great to see you keep active and continue your research while at Arlington Manor. Hope that your continued exercising helps to bring back some mobility. We will look at improving the restaurant experience as we always have lots of alternative options for each resident. Kind Regards, Customer Relationship Manager

When Mum needed to go into a care home due to her dementia, it was a really difficult decision knowing she didn't want to go into a home. Although the first few days/ weeks were a little tricky, she ultimately settled and my sister and I both feel, had some of the happiest days in her final few years.
She was cared for well and was always clean and tidy. We had regular discussions about her care to optimise this for her. She'd lost a lot of weight before going in and was able to normalise her weight after a few months. She loved the entertainment, which brought back her singing voice and was able to dance with the carers. The garden is a beautiful haven which she loved visiting all year through, and having a cuppa and biscuit either in the cafe or the garden. There is all one could ask for on-site to ensure a complete service including hairdresser, nails etc.
We now have our aunt staying there, (not with dementia), she has settled well and feels safe and secure. We can't ask for more.

Reply from Martin Dickson, Customer Relationship Manager at Hallmark Arlington Manor

That is lovely to hear. She was such a bright spark around the home, and I loved seeing her smile whenever I saw her, especially with her lovely singing voice. Kind Regards Martin.

My partner and I were residents of an independent living retirement complex when told that my partner was now terminal, had been categorised as 'fast track' and needed to go into a Care Home.
My partner's daughter and I asked that my partner be placed in Arlington Manor Care Home which is less than
100 yards from our flat which meant that we could visit her frequently.
We were very relieved when it was agreed that my partner could be placed at Arlington.

Reply from Martin Dickson, Customer Relationship Manager at Hallmark Arlington Manor

That is very kind. We were so sorry when she was only with us for a short time, but extremely pleased that you and your partner's daughter have continued to visit us regularly since then. You are both always welcome to drop in and will always be part of the family. Kind Regards Martin

My husband was a resident on the dementia floor for 18 months. During this time he was well cared for with great kindness. There were activities that he was helped to join in with. As his physical ability deteriorated his care was changed so he remained safe and comfortable. The food was good, cooked
in-house and plentiful. When he died the support and love shown to me was beyond mere duty.

My father is having a lovely time at Arlington Manor care home Girton he looks at it as a five-star hotel, the carers are very professional and any queries on food can be adjusted to his needs.
He treats other residents like his family he can be a charmer but the ladies like this.

My dad has lived in Arlington for two years and is very happy with his care and with his environment.
Staff are very supportive and caring to residents and to family members.
The home is clean, tidy and inviting, and the gardens are a calming and peaceful space to spend time with loved ones.
There
is a wide variety of activities on a daily basis, my dad loves Hangman and the singers!
The dining menu offers a good food selection, and baked goods are available in the cafe during the day.
I would thoroughly recommend Arlington Manor.

An excellent care home. My father has been a resident for two years now and I can honestly say if it wasn't for the excellent care he receives, I don't think he'd still be with us today. Staff are friendly and approachable and clearly care for their residents, I have witnessed a lot of affection from
staff towards residents. Relatives and residents are all able to approach members of staff including management who are always happy to discuss ideas and matters that might arise.
I have visited a number of other care homes, in and outside of the area, visiting other relatives over the years and I have to say Arlington Manor is by far the best.

I stayed at Arlington Manor for five weeks convalescing after an operation, and much enjoyed being there.
The whole experience was positive, and this helped me to get better and recover from my operation. I also felt very safe.
A lovely room overlooking the beautiful garden. Welcoming, friendly staff
who were proactive in offering help and care. Immaculately kept and clean environment Delicious, nutritious food - chefs willing to make a dish on request. So many different details that added to my pleasure being at Arlington; weekly hairdressing and hand care, a well-stocked library, jigsaws, a piano, a sparklingly pleasant cafe with a variety of drinks on offer as well as homemade treats, the chance to read a variety of daily newspapers. There are more facilities that I didn't use much but it all added up to a lively, 'happening' atmosphere with always someone to speak to, including the very knowledgeable gardener from whom I learnt a great deal. Many thanks to all the staff.

Appearances can be deceptive. Arlington Manor has the appearance of a 4-star hotel, and if your relative would benefit from weekly manicures, cocktail afternoons and similar activities, then Arlington Manor can provide that. However, in my personal experience, this is not the place to choose if your
relative is frail/vulnerable. The home is woefully understaffed and poorly managed. My father's condition deteriorated dramatically during his 2 1/2 month stay, losing a significant amount of weight and experiencing multiple falls. His bedding and clothing were frequently dirty and I dreaded each visit, for fear of what condition I would find him in. He died 2 weeks after being admitted to the hospital with severe dehydration and pneumonia. If I had my time again, I would not have chosen Arlington Manor.

Reply from Martin Dickson, Customer Relationship Manager at Hallmark Arlington Manor

My mother, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's dementia two years ago, moved into Arlington Manor last month and is settling in well. The design of the physical space is great - light and airy with room to move including a lovely garden. Even more importantly all the staff are excellent helping to make

Moving a loved one into care is an extremely emotional time for all involved. My father became aware that he required more care than we were able to give him and was very involved in the whole process, making the decision for himself before it became an urgent need. We had time to research possible
homes, but from the outset, both he and I were impressed by Arlington. All the staff were friendly and appeared happy to be working in the home. He moved there in June and has settled into a delightful room and enjoys the beautiful garden. In an ideal world, I know that he would like to be in his own home, but the help, care and support he receives, along with the company of staff, other residents and visitors, means that he is safe and is less likely to fall ending in a hospital stay. There are plenty of activities and things of interest for those who wish to take part. Any concerns we have are always listened to by the management. I appreciate all the support at a difficult time.

Reply from Martin Dickson, Customer Relationship Manager at Hallmark Arlington Manor

Thank you so much for the lovely review. As for a lot of people, a care home is not the first choice, but he has settled in extremely well, has made some good friends with his gentle and kind manner and always stops for a nice chat whenever I meet him around the home.

I was a community nursing sister for many years and this care home is the very best of dozens I have visited, worked in and had relatives living in. By miles.
It is immaculately clean, has multiple facilities for use by guests and a lovely, bright cafe for relatives and visitors to help themselves
to refreshments while visiting residents. Arlington Manor is also child-friendly and dog-friendly which as a foster carer and pet lover has been very important to me. If I needed to, I’d love to stay there myself.
