My husband went into the care home on the 6th of February and I'm really pleased the home is spotless and staff from management down to domestics are extremely nice it's a very well run care home and was surprised how quick my husband settled. They also have a lot of entertainment and fun with the residents

My dad has been in McGregor Lane in Balquhidder House for nearly 2 years. At first I was worried about how hed settle in but he's fine & settled & the care & genuine love for my dad from staff is second to none. My only complaint would be, lack of decent outdoor chairs & tables so that residents & families
can sit outside in the warmer weather on the patio area outside the dining room. But overall I'm happy with his care & that gives me peace of mind.

My mother has been in Swn-y-Mor for nearly 3 years. She has settled in well and has made a lot of new friends. The staff are really caring and look after her really well. She enjoys the entertainment every week, which is varied. The care home is very clean and her room is comfortable and very pleasant.

My mother has no complaints about her care and her health needs have been dealt with properly. She is delighted that she can have

The care my father is receiving is out standing, the staff are amazing and have time for him, for the first time in years he is able to get out of bed daily with the carers support, when he has been ill it has been picked up quickly and medicine received. I wish he had moved in sooner

My husband has been in Silver Trees 3 months. He is bed ridden and needs 24 hours care. I've visited everyday and love the way all the staff treat my husband. All of the staff from bottom to top are so caring, friendly and cheerful. This makes such a difference when a person is in bed 24/7. They all
make him smile so I know he is well looked after. I would like to thank all the staff and management for making a difficult time a little easier.

My dad has recently been unwell after 2 falls.
Senior carers from Sandpiper suite have given me regular updates and asked for medical review.
Grateful to all carers for their attention and also to the nurses on ground floor who reviewed him and assisted him back to bed.
It's a tough decision to
put a loved one into care but it's reassuring to know dad is being looked after.
Thank you Swn-Y-Mor Sandpiper suite.

Our mother passed away peacefully in Nursing care at Swn y Mor in December after a long stay at Swn y Mor. At all stages of her time there she was superbly looked after and her needs well supported. The environment is outstanding, the residents rooms are lovely. Cleanliness is outstanding and the food
is excellent. The standard of care cannot be faulted, staff are cheerful, pleasant, personable and excellent at they do, leadership is effective and leaders are visible and accessible. When our mother was able to participate, she hugely enjoyed the activities offered to residents which are led by an outstanding entertainment manager who works especially hard to include residents.

Swn-y-Mor Care Centre

from Elaine W (Sister of Resident) published on 3 February 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My sister has now been in Swn-Y-Mor Care Centre since October 2023. She is now 96 and has settled in to the home extremely well. She lived in her own home for 92 years so we imagined that it would be quite difficult for her to settle. However, she has surprised us all. She loves her room, the staff
and some of the activities. She is a little bit picky with her food and has her favourite items, tomato soup and chocolate eclairs. She is extremely happy, rarely grumbles and doesn't have a bad word to say for anybody.
We couldn't wish for a better atmosphere. We have visited several other homes where we have other relatives and I certainly wouldn't want to place her in any of these.
She has made a very close friendship with another resident and they see each other every day.
The events organiser has put on two superb birthday parties for her at 95 and 96 when many of her friends attended and commented on how well it was presented.

Food in general is good, except the chips which aren't.
Staff are very professional and friendly
Home needs needs a bit of a refurbishment, parts are starting to look worn.
Activities are quite varied and special shout out to the two member of staff.
Location is great especially for chair bound

My mother was in Swn-Y-Mor for nearly three years until she passed away in June 2024. The staff at the home were excellent and my mother was well looked after and was very happy at the home. Every time we visited the staff were always friendly and showed a loving care for my mother. I would highly recommend

My grandmother had just short of 3 wonderful years at Swn-Y-Mor Care Centre I am sure that had she not moved there her years would have been cut much shorter. The staff were like extended family, she adored them all. She lived for her weekly Bingo sessions and loved regular visits from Elvis with the
amazing activities team. It is a well run home that is very clean. Management are very approachable with an open door policy should we have needed to speak with them. It gave us great peace of mind to know she was so well looked after.

Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My mother has been in Silver Trees since September 2022. During this time she has had some episodes where she has needed medical treatment. Everything was managed as expected.
Normal day to day care has been excellent and mum has been looked after very well in her time there.
Mum does not need for
anything and is very comfortable there.
The staff have been very good and the Deputy Manager has been excellent in ensuring mum has been looked after so well. Mum gets on well with her.
We have been very pleased with the care given to my mum that we have just moved my mother in law into the same care home and once again the Deputy Manager made the transfer from the hospital seamless. What a relief.
It is difficult to comment on value for money as private care is very expensive.
