My mum was a resident up until February at Queens Court and my sister and family were always impressed with the care she received while there. Mum was always treated with dignity and was cared for by staff as though she were one of their own family. We are very grateful to everyone at Queens Court
and will miss them.

My mother has been in Romford Care Home for the last 12 months.
I am more than happy with the care and attention she is given there.
I have no complaints.
The staff are helpful, kind and friendly with the residents and family.
I have thought about moving mum to be nearer where I live but as she
is so well cared for I have decided to leave her as she is happy and content there.

Queens Court Care Home

from Helen E (Daughter of Resident) published on 25 February 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 2.0 out of 5

My mum was booked in to stay for a month's respite following hip replacement but we moved her home after a week. The staff are lovely people but woefully overstretched meaning call buzzers are ignored for more than half an hour - my mum resorted to telephoning the home then, when they answered, telling
them she was upstairs buzzing and could someone come! The rooms are basic and not cleaned well, my mum was in 8 days with only one bedding change on day 5 after we stepped in and requested it. I watched the cleaner check her bed table for crumbs and just wipe up the crumbs, leaving the rest of the table unwiped! The food is very poor and the main reason for moving. Even the staff don't know what they are serving (another observation and hearing conversation). The dining area/tea making area was closed for 3 days for refit without adequate temporary facilities, and with the dining tables still laid out among the dusty works. The overall atmosphere was one of chaos and disorganisation.

My brother has been a resident at Woodlands Care Home in Cambridge for over 5 years and died there at the end of January. I have visited him regularly and have observed in all that time how excellently he has been cared for without exception. I am so grateful to the staff for their kindness, professionalism,
warmth and skill in their dealings with my brother, and others, sometimes in the most challenging of situations. As a relative, I have been made to feel warmly welcomed with great helpfulness.

Visited my cousin on a new floor he was moved to. Staff were very helpful as always especially in helping us find it. My cousin was well dressed and clean and appeared content and happy. Although he is almost nonverbal and likes to wander various members of staff took time to acknowledge him by name
and asked if he was ok. They had time to answer our questions and made sure we were OK too.
Very good care home, excellent staff.

My father was in this care home from February 2024 until February 2025 when he sadly passed away. We have always been impressed with the original care staff however in the year of my dad was there, there have been three different managers. We found each swap over they never introduce themselves and
have become more and more unfriendly. It is such a shame that management lets down this home. The activity team work really hard and are always keeping the residents busy and have outside activities coming in and as I say the original caring staff have been amazing. However, since Christmas and the new manager everything seems to have changed, they have swapped the staff about. And we haven't been consulted about it with our father being ill and having dementia it was such a shame to have some staff he didn't recognise.
If you do go to this Home, please look into the pricing as we were being charged ÂŁ200 a week more than another resident and ÂŁ100 more than another!

Reply from Vera Moreira, General Manager at Manton Heights Care Centre & ABI Centre

Thank you for your comments about the care your father received we will certainly pass on your kind words to the team and we appreciate your comments about the activities team. I am sorry we haven't introduced the managers to the families in a more effective way we will certainly take that on board and address it in the future. In relations to fees many of our residents are on different rates as they all need different levels of care and support and we conduct assessments to identify appropriate levels of fees, I hope that explains the situation but if you did want to discuss anything further then please call me at the home. Best Wishes, Vera Moreira

Acceptance to Park View Care Centre was very professionally carried out and all was completed within 3 days. Mum had only been a resident for 3 days when it was her 96th birthday, the staff sent a card, a banner on her door and a spectacular birthday cake. All the family were welcomed and made comfortable
to celebrate our special occasion. Mum's room is now her forever home and we have been able to customise it safely with the help of the staff. Thank you everyone.

Whenever I turn up before midday my mum is still in bed, wet through and very distressed.
Her clothes regularly go missing. There is a waft of urine as you walk down the corridor.
You can always hear residents crying out for help. It's usually one of the visitors that goes to see them rather than
the staff. The place has far too few staff members supporting the residents which results in the poor care.

My wife moved to Park View Care Home in May 2024, she has settled in very well. All the nursing staff and carers have been very helpful and supportive to us both. Food is very good, lots of different tasty home cooked meals, plenty of snacks and drinks during the day. There is a hairdresser on site,
which is fantastic, as my wife is bed bound, so the hairdresser does room visits too. There is plenty of entertainment, for any resident to participate in. Rooms and public areas are very clean. In general, I can rest assured my wife is in good hands.
