My mum, who is 96 and has dementia, was admitted here from hospital after contracting pneumonia whilst at her previous care home. She remained in hospital for three weeks and her previous care home said that she could not return as they could no longer care for her needs.
My sister and I were really
worried about her going into a new care home but our worries were allayed almost immediately.
The staff are really friendly and nothing seems too much trouble. You can see that they really care for their residents. They have been getting her out of bed (which didn't happen at the hospital), and sitting in her chair colouring in her books.
I went in this morning and they had taken her for a shower which really pleased her.
Mum is at the home for a 6 week assessment apparently but we are hoping she will be able to stay here as the staff are absolutely lovely, professional and committed to caring for our mum.
It's hard to comment on other areas as mum has only been here for 2 weeks.

A wonderfully friendly, clean and caring home. Range of activities and lots of thought and kindness given to residents and their family.
They even have a wonderful therapy dog that visits and brightens up the day!

Always a pleasant visit, the staff are friendly, teas and coffees and yummy cakes and treats on hand as always. Makes it a lovely social visit and not a visit of duty. Bringing back those special moments. I absolutely love the Bistro, you feel so at home and my uncle feels like he's been out for the
day! "Always a lovely tidy home."

Acceptance to Park View Care Centre was very professionally carried out and all was completed within 3 days. Mum had only been a resident for 3 days when it was her 96th birthday, the staff sent a card, a banner on her door and a spectacular birthday cake. All the family were welcomed and made comfortable
to celebrate our special occasion. Mum's room is now her forever home and we have been able to customise it safely with the help of the staff. Thank you everyone.

Whenever I turn up before midday my mum is still in bed, wet through and very distressed.
Her clothes regularly go missing. There is a waft of urine as you walk down the corridor.
You can always hear residents crying out for help. It's usually one of the visitors that goes to see them rather than
the staff. The place has far too few staff members supporting the residents which results in the poor care.

My wife moved to Park View Care Home in May 2024, she has settled in very well. All the nursing staff and carers have been very helpful and supportive to us both. Food is very good, lots of different tasty home cooked meals, plenty of snacks and drinks during the day. There is a hairdresser on site,
which is fantastic, as my wife is bed bound, so the hairdresser does room visits too. There is plenty of entertainment, for any resident to participate in. Rooms and public areas are very clean. In general, I can rest assured my wife is in good hands.

My mum moved into Park View Care Centre at the beginning of the month and has settled incredibly well. The home had an instant warm and friendly atmosphere, the staff very welcoming and kind. She has been so well cared for, in a really organised and caring environment. I couldn't speak more highly of
this lovely home.

I am pleased to give a favourable review of the care my wife receives. She is deteriorating with dementia, but is quite settled and at home in her environment. This tells me that her carers are looking after her well, otherwise she would be distressed which is not the case. I can leave her after my
visits with peace of mind knowing that she is receiving the care she needs. At times it is demanding for the carers to deal with residents who have mental difficulties, I have witnessed how well the staff manage situations that can arise among the residents. So, I am pleased to give a five star rating on behalf of myself and my family who are all in agreement with my review.

My mother has been resident at Park View Care Centre since November 2022. The manager is very approachable and indeed encourages residents and relatives to let him know if if there are any problems. He is full of ideas and initiatives to make life in the home as pleasant as possible. All staff are caring,
pleasant and friendly. We visit regularly, usually unannounced and always find mum to be clean, her room spotless and the staff knowledgeable and helpful. There is a very active team organising entertainment who are excellent at encouraging residents to join in.

I never cease to be amazed by the kindness and patience of the carers at Park View Care Centre. Six months of caring by myself for my wife exhausted me. These ladies do it day after day. Nothing seems to faze them, incontinence, ingratitude, they take it in their stride. We owe them a big debt of gratitude
for shouldering the burden.

Things have really improved since the new manager arrived.
The food still needs attention, but I believe it's in hand.

Mum has received the best care here. She has found it hard to adapt and has not been easy for the staff. They have been so supportive of us as a family and my mum. I hope Mum settles down and can be happy here as the staff and care she has received couldn't be better.

Mum moved into Withens on the 16th of December. And our first impressions have been very positive. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, both to Mum and us the family. The home itself is also bright and airy with plenty of room. But most importantly the level of care seems excellent.

I have been visiting The Withens Nursing Home for a few months to see my friend. I have always been made to feel welcome. The home is genuinely a home from home to the residents who are so well cared for. From the carers to the activities they really do try to cater for everyone. My friend is encouraged
to join other residents in the lounge where they have many activities but on days when she feels like staying in her room the staff visit regularly to check on her and always with a smile.

All the staff work hard. Very helpful receptionist at the front desk. Recently appointed new management, they have been liaising with the residents which has helped a lot in terms of food content and options, and more activities. Meals are an important part of the day for my aunt and others. Chef has
visited to talk directly. Some changes in the communal rooms layout, again, management are trying not just sit back.
