Woodbury Court has proven to be the best choice we could possibly have made for my dad. He has been there two years now and has really never looked back! At ninety-five years of age he is flourishing under their care and it's wonderful to witness.
As a family we would not have the slightest hesitation
in recommending Woodbury Court.

Park View

from Nikki P (Daughter of Resident) published on 10 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 1.0 out of 5

I have just moved my father out of Park View after a disappointing respite stay. Issues included:
- He was discharged from the hospital without any medication, and despite the care home having a list of his pre-hospital medications, they failed to arrange any in the nearly four weeks he was there.
-
As someone with POA, I requested a copy of his care plan. I was told it may be delayed as it needed to be "redacted by head office." Nearly two weeks later, I still haven't received it, nor am I clear about why/what needed redacting - despite this being crucial for making informed decisions about his care.
- My father asked often to go outside, only to be told they were "too busy". While I understand care homes can be stretched, it was frustrating to see staff sitting on their phones during visits, rather than engaging with residents.
- His house keys were left in another resident's room, and almost all of his clothes were lost.
I hope this feedback encourages some improvements.

My father unfortunately broke his left femur back in November.Dad is 90 years old and has always been fit and healthy but after his fall he has become very frail although mentally he still can hold a conversation.Dad was moved to Blackthorns after the hospital discharged him.Although only temporary
it became clear he needed 24 hour care as he lives on his own , so Blackthorns have been a life line.Dad has settled in very well. The management and staff are beyond exceptional and are very supportive to dad and his family and friends. They are always smiling and we are particularly fond of one member of staff, in particular, who is an asset to the team of excellent carers who makes us giggle when she is around.I would recommend Blackthorns to anyone who is looking for a suitable care home.

All the staff have been superb, really caring and trying to encourage him to stand a and walk and eat. He has been very well cared for, they could not have done more for him. His room is lovely and so decorated in thoughtful way. The view from his window is spectacular and the grounds are beautiful.

We were worried about putting mum in a home, because she never wanted to very independent.
But the staff have been wonderful it took a while for mum to settle but it is the illness that changes her.
We are very pleased with the home.

Mum transferred to Woodbury after a hospital stay highlighted that she could no longer live safely independently. Despite our concerns, Mum has settled in really well and loves her room which is so important to her as she enjoys spending time in her own company.
There's always an abundance of staff
around whenever we visit, and everyone is very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere in the home feels very positive and staff are genuinely invested in the care of residents. The management team are also excellent: visible, approachable, and responsive. There is a genuine enthusiasm about finding ways to ensure residents feel at home from home, and a willingness to resolve any issue no matter how trivial or important. At what has been a challenging and concerning time for us as a family, Woodbury Court staff have been consistent, dependable and supportive. It has made all the difference.

My mother has been here for four years now and I am so pleased with her care. Relatives are made so welcome and meetings and information events are planned for them. Special events are organised such as Winter Wonderland and it is clear the staff know the residents and their needs well. Any concerns
are acted upon quickly. The management staff are also so giving of their time for example if we need advice.

Well where do I start. My mum and stepfather have moved to this home because their funds ran out and we had to find a new home. Well if we knew about this home originally they would have come here first. I can't rate the manager and her team highly enough. The staff encourage Mum and Step to do more
things, they have only been there for four weeks and already they have been ice skating, snooker, and pub lunches. Keep up the good work guys.

My mother has been a full time resident since November 2023. I cannot fault the care and attention she receives, all staff are very caring and well trained. It is a safe, happy and welcoming place to visit. The management and admin staff are brilliant. I am happy in the knowledge that my mum is safe.
Thank you.

Loganberry Lodge - what a wonderful place. My uncle lived here for five years. He was happy and so well cared for by wonderful, compassionate staff. They communicated well with us and my uncle's best interests were always their major consideration. This really was a home from home. My uncle thoroughly
enjoyed activities organised by the coordinators. He adored his food. A really lovely environment.

My husband has been here just over a year. Although his mobility etc. has not improved. With the staff's help he mixes in with other residents. He gets on with all the staff knowing them by name, He always enjoys the food and makes comments, according to the staff. As family members, we are kept up
to date with everything that goes on in the home, via weekly emails. When needed urgently we are contacted immediately by phone.

My dad was so happy at the care home. All staff looked after him very well, from chatting to him, showering him too, helping him with his food. Now dad goes every Friday and loves it... as again all staff chat to him, and he has a shower. He eats very well and the entertainment again is brilliant...
one carer in particular really makes effort with entertainment when he's on...but I can't say enough about all staff, so friendly and helpful. Thanks again.
