Bracebridge Court

We have nothing but thanks and praise for Bracebridge court. My auntie was only with them 10months but had exceptional and outstanding care. Even though she had dementia she requested to go in this care home living in Atherstone all her life she knew how good it was.
All of the staff are so pleasant
and caring I recall one Saturday afternoon one of the carers announced Sunday lunch would be beef and all the trimmings which got a great response .Also the manager and another member of staff in particular were so helpful and went above and beyond to help my dad who also is elderly to make the situation as straightforward and helping my auntie stay where she was happy and contented. Many thanks .

My dad moved into Laureate Court in October 2024. From day one he has been treated with care & respect. The team at Laureate Court always go the extra mile to make the residents care first class. It was out dads 90th birthday recently & the staff helped us throw a surprise party for him which made everyone's
day. We live nearly 2 hours drive away & I get a lot of comfort in the fact that dad is being cared for in such a lovely environment. Thanks to all

Reply from Leanne Simms, Customer Relations Manager at Laureate Court Care Home

Thank you so much for your lovely review, we are so glad that your dad and family are happy with the home and that he enjoyed his birthday celebrations. I will pass your kind comments on to all of the staff.

My mum was transferred from hosptial to Rowena House Care Home recently after being diagnosed with cancer. She also has dementia and alzheimers. I was feeling anxious about the change for mum but after her 1st day and night there I just knew this was the perfect forever home for her however long that
may be. My mums said she isn't ever leaving there because she loves it. She loves the food, the staff and is the happiest I've seen her in a long time.

Windmill House

from John W (Partner of Resident) published on 17 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Windmill Care home is the best ' home ' I have yet encountered. I have experience of other care homes where family members resided in the past and I also spent some years as a maintenance contractor to a large care home in Norfolk. Whilst there are other good homes I cannot say they match Windmill for
it's overall outstanding qualities.
The manager and all the team must be commended for their total devotion to the care and wellbeing of the residents. Each time I visit I feel the warmth and friendliness of all the staff and have absolute confidence in their professional abilities. It has a very happy family feel within and I feel privileged to have made friends there. I believe my partner's contentment stems from all aspects of the outstanding care she receives at Windmill.
Thank you the manager and all the wonderful team

Reply from Maria Paranal, Manager at Windmill House

Bramwell Care Home

from Paul M (Nephew of Resident) published on 12 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My aunt passed away on 11th October 2024 but until the very end she was taken care of by the staff at Bramwell at the highest possible level. Such care and compassion for my aunt was so welcome at a very difficult time. It was if the staff attending my aunt were dealing with a member of their own family.
I cannot praise all the staff and management for the way that they way they treated my aunt in all the time she was in their care. When I visited my aunt she was always clean and her room clean and tidy. Throughout her stay and at her passing she was shown dignity and the greatest of respect.
Thank you to everyone at Bramwell Care Home you deserve 5 stars in every respect.

Such a lovely bright building with gorgeous rooms and facilities. So many opportunities for activities and even outings. Fantastic that there are regular visits from a hairdresser, chiropodist and optician. Best of all though, the carers are so lovely, kind and cheerful. Nothing is too much trouble
and everything is done cheerfully even after a hard tiring day. The manager and deputy manager welcome conversations and are always happy to listen and do whatever they can to help.

What a lovely supportive environment, both for residents and relatives. Activity staff enthusiastic and residents got involved. Care staff were caring, gentle, firm as needed, and showed true emotion for the people under their care. The management have also been fabulous, empathetic and understanding
of relatives needs especially during difficult times. If I need to stop in a care home when I age, I would go here.

Woodbury Court has proven to be the best choice we could possibly have made for my dad. He has been there two years now and has really never looked back! At ninety-five years of age he is flourishing under their care and it's wonderful to witness.

Review of

Park View

from Nikki P (Daughter of Resident) published on 10 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 1.0 out of 5

I have just moved my father out of Park View after a disappointing respite stay. Issues included:
- He was discharged from the hospital without any medication, and despite the care home having a list of his pre-hospital medications, they failed to arrange any in the nearly four weeks he was there.
-
As someone with POA, I requested a copy of his care plan. I was told it may be delayed as it needed to be "redacted by head office." Nearly two weeks later, I still haven't received it, nor am I clear about why/what needed redacting - despite this being crucial for making informed decisions about his care.
- My father asked often to go outside, only to be told they were "too busy". While I understand care homes can be stretched, it was frustrating to see staff sitting on their phones during visits, rather than engaging with residents.
- His house keys were left in another resident's room, and almost all of his clothes were lost.
I hope this feedback encourages some improvements.

My father unfortunately broke his left femur back in November.Dad is 90 years old and has always been fit and healthy but after his fall he has become very frail although mentally he still can hold a conversation.Dad was moved to Blackthorns after the hospital discharged him.Although only temporary
it became clear he needed 24 hour care as he lives on his own , so Blackthorns have been a life line.Dad has settled in very well. The management and staff are beyond exceptional and are very supportive to dad and his family and friends. They are always smiling and we are particularly fond of one member of staff, in particular, who is an asset to the team of excellent carers who makes us giggle when she is around.I would recommend Blackthorns to anyone who is looking for a suitable care home.
