Visited my mum on 19th November. Made very welcome by everyone and had an informative talk of future plans for mum. Mum was in the lounge area dressed, warm and contented. While there, she was asked what she would like for lunch. Very attentive staff.

Home is clean, tidy and staff welcoming. Resident's room is clean and calm. Resident is regularly taken out of their room into the pleasant day room for lunch time.
Nursing staff could have been more proactive in obtaining GP intervention when resident went without an active prescribed treatment for
psoriasis in early December. The psoriasis was causing itching and discomfort.

My mum is very happy at Horton Cross Nursing Home. She has been here for 3 years and has a lovely room with a view of the garden. She loves the activities daily and enjoys particularly the musical ones, quizzes and baking. The carers know both mum and family well and are welcoming, fun and work together
as a team. From the management to the domestic staff, mum loves the choices for meals that are offered, as well as snacks! A warm, cosy environment, which has recently been updated into a bright, freshly decorated place with new fixtures and fittings.

My relative has been living at Horton Cross Nursing Home for over 3 years and would not want to be anywhere else! Well cared for with regular reviews and meetings with relatives. The home offers a welcoming and very caring environment for our relative and family when visiting. The food is prepared well
and provided in a tasty and appropriate way for her dietary needs. The management are experienced in all areas, the home has recently gone through extensive changes with redecoration, fixtures and fittings and training for staff.

Service user was distressed on my arrival, slumped in a chair unable to move as the chair was reclined. Uncomfortable and in pain. I pressed the button for help. After 20 minutes had to go and find staff. No staff at all on the 2nd floor found someone who then took 10 minutes to attend service user
who was in tears. If I hadn't visited she could have been left for much longer. No manager to talk to onsite.

On the whole, the care is very good. The care staff are kind. Night care staff are noisy which can be disruptive to sleep. Would like Dad to have a shower/bath more often. He says people are constantly coming in and out when he's in the shower which he does not like. All staff are friendly and helpful.

The care home is clean and warm. Services are exceptional but the food is often cold or overcooked. The staff are fine.

There has been a marked improvement to the services at Horton Cross since having been taken over by the new manager in February this year. My mum is very well cared for and enjoys all the activities now available. The staff keep me well informed of any changes to her care and well-being.

My aunt has been at Horton Cross since May this year. I have been impressed by how well she has been supported to settle in. From the first days all staff greeted her by name and she has been shown respect, kindness and a ready responsiveness to her needs which she can't always articulate herself.
When I raise issues I often find they are already being addressed. I am regularly contacted by the nursing staff as part of their review of my aunt's care plan and invited to raise concerns.
It is always a pleasure to walk into the home. Everyone is so friendly and kind and I feel part of a community that is working together to support and care for my aunt.

There is a well trained team working to create a caring, welcoming and homely environment. Residents are treated with a great deal of care and dignity. The building appears to be going through a refurbishment scheme and there is a high standard of cleanliness throughout.

I had to make the decision to find a care home for Mum and it was the hardest thing I've ever had to do but due to her deterioration and long hospital stay, I had no choice. We tried a couple of residential but didn't think residential was the right place for her to be. I contacted Morgannwg House,
having heard great things so got in touch with the help of Mum's social worker. The manager and deputy manager came to do a review and have a chat, they were amazing and we were offered a tour the following week. What a beautiful house with all the rooms a fantastic size. Within a few weeks, Mum moved and we haven't looked back. All the staff are so helpful, caring and sensitive and she has nursing care 24 hours a day. No time limits on visits, the food is lovely and it is the best thing we have done. If I could give 1000 stars I would. I take her out and I know she enjoys it, but to see her smiling at all the staff when we return is priceless. Thank you Morgannwg House and all the staff for making a hard decision easier.

My father-in-law has been at Horton Cross for over a year now and has always received very good care. If he's ever had to be admitted to hospital I have always been notified straight away and given every detail about what happened and what the staff had done. The home itself is always very clean and
tidy and has recently had some upgrades. All staff seem very nice and attentive. If there's ever any medical issues or updates on health, someone always rings me to explain everything in full.

The family needed to find a nursing home for my mother as a result of her discharge from hospital in December 2022. An initial visit to view the home was made in early December and we were accompanied by the manager at that visit and have met several times since admission of our mother, which was between
Christmas and New Year. On all visits both the manager and staff have been friendly and attentive with all our questions and requests promptly answered and resolved. Although it has only been just over three weeks since admission all initial impressions are very favourable.
