My parents were finding it increasingly difficult to cope with being on their own at home. It was upsetting to see them scared and confused so we made the decision to find a care home which would suit their needs.


From our first meeting at Brook House, both the Manager and Deputy Manager have been

so helpful. They totally understood our needs as well my parents and they went out of their way to find rooms which would suit my parents thus allowing them to carry on as if they were still in their own home.


The entire home is light and airy, spotlessly clean and a joy to be in. Every member of staff we have met has been happy in their work and very friendly and helpful.


The Manager and Deputy Manager have been incredibly supportive during recent weeks and have helped my Dad and myself through what has been a difficult time ....really over and above the call of duty. The Entertainments coordinator has been an absolute star getting my Dad to join in activities and keeping him busy.

I only have good things to say about the Haven. Nothing is too much trouble for them. It has a happy atmosphere. My Aunt is very happy as she tells me. It was recently my Aunts birthday and they made her a cake how lovely was that.
The manager and all of the staff are very helpful and very empathetic
to any situation.
I am extremely grateful to all of them for what they do and the way in which they do everything. I would highly recommend the Haven if you were thinking about sending a loved one there.

My mum has been a resident for just over a year at Brook House.
When she first arrived she was confused and worried and scared. She was instantly met with a warm - reassuring face that help her to settle in.
Within a few days she was sleeping better, eating better and washing.
You could see she was
relaxed with the staff and she felt comfortable.
All staff are welcoming and caring and you get a real family feel from everyone there.
My mum is safe and well looked after and because of this my mind is put at ease.

The overall care of my mother is outstanding. The staff go above and beyond duty of care. My mother was very poorly in December. We never expected her to make christmas. But shes doing well. Going out and joining in with others.
The manager keeps me well informed with changes, as I live 4 hours
away from the home.

My mother was with Brook house for just over a year. In that time she was treated pwith care and respect by all the staff , always having time for a chat and making sure she had everything she needed. We were always welcomed and nothing too much trouble. Thay gave ne back the mum I always new and loved

Very supportive and understanding team.
Couldn't do enough for my dad or our family.
They enabled space, while still offering support if/when needed during the last days/weeks of his life.
Specific thanks and praise to the manager and another specific staff member. They always knew the right things
to say and knew how to deal with dad, even when he was being stubborn and difficult.

I have been amazed at the efficiency and kindness of every staff member I have come in contact with. I think care work is extremely challenging and I'm amazed with their patience when dealing with difficult residents. I think I am lucky my mum got into The Haven.

These guys have done really well with my mother, she is brighter and more active than she's been for a few years.
Well looked after and well fed. The room isn't bad but could be a little bigger I guess but she moved from a bigger room to be downstairs due to her mobility so it was needed.

My Dad has Alzheimer's and since being at The Haven he's settled in well, I often find him sitting by the open door of his room speaking to everyone who walks by. He appears well-kept and cheerful. Most of all he is safe and not lonely, and I know he's eating healthy. The staff always are cheerful and
kind. I'm happy my Dad resides at The Haven.

I cannot praise the manager and staff enough at Brook House. My father-in-law has been a resident for nearly two years now and throughout that time, he has had many challenges in his general health and well-being. These challenges have been met by the team with care, empathy and intelligence. As relatives,
we have also felt supported and kept informed on a regular basis with any areas of concern and the staff are being creative with their ideas to resolve any issues. They are constantly reviewing procedures to change and improve on their already inclusive, caring and empowering work. They work well with other organisations to ensure the residents are enjoying the best care. I feel that my father is safe and secure at Brook House and that he is treated gently and with kindness at all times. The facility is always clean and tidy with friendly and helpful staff. It is pleasing to see that the residents have many trips out tailored to their needs and enjoyment. Highly recommended by us!

The care my husband has received in 3 and a half years has been very good but his health is declining quite rapidly now and words cannot express the love and care he is receiving. As a family we are so grateful to the Staff for this. Also when I visit nothing is too much trouble.

The Haven always has a positive attitude both towards my father and myself. Everyone shows care and respect towards my father and ensures he is keeping in good health. I am happy with Brook House's care for my father. Kind thoughtful, caring staff.
He has one-to-one staff. l do feel as though the care given could be better: more thoughtful, hygiene (hair washed smelling nice). I have asked for all my father's clothes that don't fit weeks ago, still waiting.

My mother moved to Brook House following on from my father passing in a home they were residing together, at which time (July 2024) we rapidly took the decision to move our mother with immediate effect. At the former home, she was very depressed (even prior to my father's passing) often saying she was
living in a prison. She appeared very pale and totally unmotivated which we initially thought to be a decline in her condition however moving her to Brook House has proved we were wrong as since doing so, my mother has excelled virtually immediately. She is beautiful again in her appearance and blooming from within with a sparkle in her eyes, something we thought she had lost. The manager is a brilliant, hands-on manager, the senior and activity coordinator is amazing as is the deputy, also five members of staff, in particular, are outstanding and others too whom I do not yet know names. Outings and activities are outstanding too. At this time, after five months, I can honestly not yet fault Brook House.

Mum has been in the care home for 18 months. They have done wonders with her. She is safe, clean, eats well and her medication has brought the mother I knew back to me. Thanks to Milton she has retained her sense of humour and her dignity. The management and carers are amazing. It is one big happy

Absolutely marvellous carers at the home, great management, nothing is too much bother for them. I feel they go above and beyond for residents in my experience and always provide updates as needed but in a compassionate and caring manner, residents are people to them, not a number which has become all
too common these days.
The manager is great to work alongside and always quickly replies and takes time even when she is not working to help with any matter needed.
It is lovely to visit, and people importantly seem happy when you are there.

Mum has had excellent care from all the staff in Milton Lodge. They make sure there are many activities such as games, singing, baking or arts and crafts which help to keep the residents stimulated. There is an excellent varied menu every day prepared by the kitchen. She is treated with dignity by everyone.
If Mum or I have any concerns at all we feel free to voice them and they are taken seriously and help is always at hand. The home is well-equipped, attractively decorated and has a warm and welcoming feel. There is a cheerful demeanour from the domestic staff to the managers. Mum is healthy and encouraged in all aspects of her care. Her appearance is very important to her and the team is on hand to help her with her manicures and hair styling. My family feel very lucky to have found this wonderful home.
