My Uncle was in Farnworth care home recently with Stage 4 cancer and I could not have been happier with the care that he received in his short time there. All the care staff treated him with kindness and respect and the nursing staff were wonderful at the end. I would like to thank Claire for her help

This care home is so lovely and both myself and my brother are so relieved we managed to get our Mum a place on the nursing unit. From the moment we arrived to have a look around to now having Mum settled in and being looked after by the lovely nurses and staff, it's been such a faultless experience.
Nothing is too much trouble, just ask and someone is always happy to help. Mum's even had her hair done today in the onsite salon. It's so important to pick the right place for your loved ones when they need it and we couldn't be happier.

We found the care home very warm, clean and friendly. The staff from the office staff, nurses, carers and even the cleaners were excellent. On the whole very impressed.

Farnworth Care Home Bolton is excellent. The staff are wonderful, caring, attentive, professional and extremely accommodating. Our Mum has been in Hospital for 3 weeks with extreme breathing difficulties. Staff on her return were amazing, they all came to welcome her back, they organised a late Christmas
gift. They were happy to see our Mum with real emotion. The Manager managers his staff with warmth and together they have created a warm, caring home from home for our loved ones. We can't Thank you all enough. Excellent..excellent..caring staff, spotless, fantastic activities, lovely varied food delivered in wonderful surroundings. They always have time for family. I would highly recommend to other families making this difficult decision. Our family are eternally grateful for the high level of 24 hour care .

Family members are not safe under Kenyon Lodge's care. Nursing staff failed to call an ambulance when clear stroke signs were being exhibited and she was found unresponsive in her room after being left alone for 1.5 hours.
Food is not home cooked contrary to some other reviews, as one of the 'chefs'
told us we do not cook the food, it is brought in as we cannot cook for 60 residents. Staff openly call the manager names. Very unprofessional.
Care staff do not respond quick enough to residents who are on palliative care ringing their buzzer. I have witnessed with other residents as well as my own family member.

I was impressed as soon as I walked in to view Farnworth Care Home, I was struck by the cleanliness but also from the friendly welcome on reception. I had to find a place urgently for my brother and my sister in law. I was helped enormously by management, and all staff, they helped me through a very
stressful time. The care they have given my brother and his wife is wonderful, but also very approachable with visiting family. The family and I are so pleased we made the right choice with Farnworth care home.

My mum lived in Farnworth Care Home for a year. It was a huge change after living independently until she was 100. I and the rest of her family have only the highest praise for the way she was looked after. She was made welcome from the start and treated with such care and respect. Staff are friendly,
professional, and very approachable. There is a wide range of outings and activities, but if like mum, you prefer to stay in your room and read or watch TV then that is fine.The private rooms and public spaces are kept immaculately clean. The staff made mum feel very special in her final year and I know she felt loved.

The minute I entered the home to view it on behalf of my auntie I knew it was the right place for my her; it immediately felt warm and inviting and I wasn't wrong to go with my feelings. Although my auntie was sadly only there for 3 weeks I can honestly say I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone
who is looking for a care home for themselves or their loved one. Everyone whom we came in to contact with showed both my auntie and our family compassion and respect. The staff, whatever their role were warm and caring. I don't know if they are aware of it but they embraced both my aunt and the family into their family. I will always be extremely grateful; it made a very sad time more bearable.

I have no complaints at all about my wife's care. The staff are caring, considerate, helpful, friendly and cheerful. The only point I would raise is with only one disabled parking space you get inconsiderate people without a Blue Badge using that space, causing inconvenience and trouble for people who
do need it. Not of course the fault of the management but the inconsiderate attitude of certain people.

My parents moved into Kenyon Lodge during the pandemic and lived there for over three years until my father's death in November 2023. It is difficult to sum up in words the peace of mind I had whilst they were there, but I will try to convey in this review, my personal experience. The staff are caring,
conscientious, and polite and do their upmost for the residents. Because I was permitted to be there beyond visiting times due to unique circumstances, I knew the staff continued with their dedicated work. In short, when you have a family member in KL, you become part of the KL family and together with the management and staff, you create the optimum atmosphere for your loved ones. When my mum passed away at the beginning of 2023, it was as though the staff had lost a member of their own family as they become so close to the residents. My dad continued to live at Kenyon Lodge after my mother's death and when he passed away, knowing that he was so well cared for, was a great comfort.

I found Farnworth Care Home a very friendly atmosphere. My mum only stayed for 3 weeks, but I felt like she was in a very safe environment, and everyone who dealt with her was absolutely brilliant in every way. They were very helpful, always chatty and very smiley which I loved. Nothing was too much
trouble and they went above and beyond to help my mum. Thank you very much for all your help and looking after our mum.

My sister-in-law was admitted to Farnworth Care Home on 15th August and sadly passed away on 29th August. Throughout the brief period of her admission to her passing, I can only say that the care and dignity afforded to her by the staff on the Belmont unit was outstanding. Not only did this extend to
my sister-in-law, but to all the family and friends involved in her care. On the morning of her passing, we were overwhelmed by the care and attention to detail provided by the nursing staff to ensure that the dying process was dignified and respectful and made an extremely sad and difficult time more bearable and comforting. We cannot praise them enough.

I would highly recommend Farnworth Care Home, their professionalism and dedication is excellent. All the staff are very friendly, treat all residents and their families as individuals, listen and act upon any concerns/requests you may have. The staff on Firwood are professional, dedicated, compassionate,
empathic and when you are feeling low, they are ready with a cup of tea and a hug! The atmosphere in the unit is a reflection of the hard work that the staff do. My brother was only there for a short time before he passed away, and I can't thank the staff enough for the respectful and dignified way they treated him. Our family will always be grateful to them for the care they provided.

This home is first class. My dad was in respite care beforehand and in only a month I have seen a massive improvement in his condition. He was detached and morose when he came in...now he is like a new person joining in the numerous activities at the bone. The managers and staff are first class, and
my dad is like a new person after only a month.

My stepfather has been a resident of Farnworth Care Home since October 2022. I would highly recommend this care home in particular for their nursing care floor where my stepfather receives fabulous care. All the nurses and staff are caring, show real empathy and are very friendly, they keep you up to
date with his needs and we feel that he is receiving exceptional care. We feel very supported.

Moving my dad for the 3rd time has been very difficult. I was nervous at first as I live close by and heard it had a poor reputation. Dad has been here for 6 months and he has no pressure sores which is unusual as he is bed-bound and had many before. He has a few baths more here and he has not sat in
a chair in 3 years. I was amazed to see this and very thankful, he also gained weight which is positive.

My dad has been at the home coming up to 17 months. It was a little difficult at the beginning for him to settle but the staff and care that he has received have been exceptional. He really likes the staff at the home and the care that he receives has been great. If I have ever had to request anything,
it has been dealt with efficiently and I have been acknowledged. We are happy he is in a loving and caring home. Great staff and management and a lovely environment.
