I have been so comfortable and safe here for my ten-day respite. You have given me back my confidence as I go home after my fall and stay in hospital.
The food was excellent - especially the soups in the evening. Also, all the carers & staff, THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH.

Every aspect of my care was attended to. The meals were the highest standard varied and delicious. The activities were fun and interesting and my medical needs were carried out efficiently and expertly. The care workers themselves were so happy and this spilled over onto those being cared for, nothing
was too much bother and everything was done with a smile. It is impossible to emphasise how excellent this care home is.

Linden House continues to maintain its excellence in every respect.
Always greeted at the reception in a friendly and helpful manner.
All the staff are pleasant to engage with and deal with the residents
in a sensitive and respectful manner.

Review of

Woodpeckers

from L H (Daughter of Resident) published on 8 April 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My mothr has been in Woodpeckers almost two years, and every night on the phone, she tells me how lucky she feels to be in such a wonderful home. She is full of praise for all the staff, and comments on how everyone is always smiling. I would add that I greatly appreciate the fact that all the staff
are so amazingly patient and quite outstanding in their care. Mother describes the food as being 'just the sort of food you would cook yourself'. This contributes to her feeling that Woodpeckers really is her home. When any of the family visit her - particularly her great grandchildren - everyone is warmly welcomed, and encouraged to join her for lunch or tea. Mother loves the fact that there is always something going on, and I appreciate the entertainment staff sending me the weekly activities sheet, with comment and photos of what Mother has been up to. Mother particularly enjoys the visits by the local school children, and the weekly mini-bus outing. She also really appreciated the beautiful garden, which she tells she walks around several times a day. In her words 'she can't find fault with anything' and neither can I!

Reply from Stuart King, Home Manager at Woodpeckers

Thank you so much for your kind comments about Woodpeckers. It's fantastic to hear how much your mother enjoys living here and that she truly feels at home. Knowing she looks forward to the daily activities, enjoys her meals, and takes pleasure in the garden and outings is lovely to hear. It also means a great deal to know that you and your family feel welcomed and reassured. The team work incredibly hard to create a warm, supportive environment, and your feedback is a lovely reflection of that. I'll be sure to share your comments with everyone here. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience.

Our mum has been a resident at Court Lodge for 5 years now and the ethos of the team has always been to create a calm, friendly, and also fun atmosphere.
Sheis currently struggling with accepting her own mental and physical deterioration. This means that she has displayed some difficult behaviour
but the compassion and understanding of all the staff, particularly under the manager's leadership, is wonderful.
Both my sister and I live a long way from the home so having total confidence that all aspects of our Mum's care is exemplary is very reassuring.
Thank you

My mother moved to Brockenhurst Woodpeckers from the North of England from the day she moved into Woodpeckers the staff and residents welcomed her with open arms. Mum is very settled, she loves all the activities and the food. Her bedroom overlooks a field where she loves watching the deer, horses and
birds. Mum and I can't thank the manager and his team enough for the kindness in welcoming her to Woodpeckers. I would highly recommend Woodpeckers to anyone thinking about moving a family member to a care home.

Linden House

From the very first meeting with staff of Linden House, I was extremely impressed with their professionalism, compassion and guidance. It can be a frightening and bewildering situation for all concerned and the support provided by Linden House is very comforting. The home offers bright and airy rooms
which you are encouraged to make them feel like home. The staff are nicely presented and are always smiling and know each resident by their Christian name. Drinks and cakes and biscuits are always available and the residents are offered "show plates" on meal times to display the options available. Plenty of activities are carried out during the days as well as trips out locally. You can rest easy knowing your loved one is being well looked after and are safe. I would highly recommend this facility.

I cannot praise Kingfisher's Nursing Home enough, they are the kindest most loving group of people you could wish to meet. My husband was a resident for a short while before he passed away but the care was wonderful. Since he died they have been my lifeline, I have been welcomed back to do some gardening
and often sit on the patio with many happy residents enjoying the sun and cake. Everyone there are so happy is is a pleasure to walk through the door. Outstanding they are. I cannot recommend the home enough.

My mum has been in Woodpeckers for about 15 months and they have just taken my dad too, which took some organising/re-organising on their part - very grateful to the manager for that. All the staff are super caring in a clearly genuine way- they are genuinely kind. Food, facilities and activities are
also top-notch, and the garden is beautiful, including animal carvings, etc, that go above & beyond. A really lovely place.

Linden House

Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My Dad was at Linden House from April 2024 until January 2025. The care he received was amazing. All staff were very kind and caring towards Dad and very welcoming when we visited. The nursing staff were very good at keeping us up to date with Dads condition and were so lovely. One member of staff in
particular was incredibly kind with Dad and helped my brothers and I at a particularly difficult time. It was very hard putting him in a home but we were very happy knowing he was being well looked after. I would recommend Linden House to everyone who has a parent or partner with Dementia. It is 'outstanding' for a reason.

Court Lodge

from Josephine G (Daughter of Resident) published on 14 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My father was a resident for just over 3 years. His care was exceptional and he was very happy at the home. At his birthday party in November, the staff had decorated one of the lounges and many came in and sang happy birthday to him. He was taken ill on 21st December and I was informed. The ambulance
was called, but according to our wishes and a pre-arranged plan, he was not taken to hospital, but stayed within the familiar surroundings. My daughter and I sat with him Christmas Eve and Day and the staff were brilliant. It must be so hard for them encouraging other residents to enjoy the Christmas spirit, while being attentive, caring and so respectful to the dying and their relatives and it was obvious they too were affected by losing one of their family. He died peacefully early on Boxing Day and the nurses and carers were wonderful in how they looked after him and sympathised with us. He could not have wished for a more gentle end in the place he called home.

Reply from Rebecca Hannam, Home Manager at Court Lodge

Thank you for sharing such kind words about your father's time with us. It's lovely to hear how much he felt at home and how our team was able to support him, especially in his final days. Sadly, his time at St Catherine's was shorter than we had hoped, but during his stay we felt that he was in safe
