West Cliff Hall is a truly beautiful home. The building maybe be big but it's a home away from home straight away. From the minute you walk in the door you are welcomed and treated so well (a staff member in particular is fab!) The staff are friendly, the food is tasty and the activities on offer are
so much fun! The home is always so beautifully maintained and clean as well, which is obviously so important!

The soon to be completed building work has meant a full car park and some extra noise but everyone has been helpful and worked hard in making the best of it. Staff are always very attentive when we visit and there is a nice feeling in the building. Visiting hours are fully flexible and we always feel
welcome when we visit.

Hartford Court

from Heidi L (Daughter of Resident) published on 28 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My experience with Hartford Court continues to be very good. My mum tells me every time I visit (very regularly) that she can't fault the place and that the staff are all wonderful. My own personal experience with the staff is also excellent, they all seem to know Mum very well - they understand her
needs, they also have a laugh with her and keep her happy! If I ever had any concerns or special requests regarding Mum, I always feel listened to and they go above and beyond to assist with anything that I discuss with them. In my opinion (and where my Mum is concerned) - the activities are a huge part of making Hartford Court such a good fit for us. The variation of games, singers, coffee mornings etc. make the time for them in there so enjoyable - and between meals there is always something for them to do or people around to chat to!

Reply from Lindsay Mahoney, Hospitality & Wellbeing Manager at Hartford Court

Building lovely, staff cheerful and good facilities. Unfortunately my Stepfather was seriously let down though. Alarm bells rang 2 days in and met manager to discuss. Lots of encouraging words but sadly had to remove Dad 2 days later. Unable to maintain medication timings, unable to manage his safeguarding
or the person who was harassing him. They were advanced in their condition and should have been supervised. On raising our complaint it seemed management disregarded the seriousness of the problem or just didn't read our email.
Hope they've improved and hired more staff but I would urge anyone to caution before placing a loved one there.

We had a lovely afternoon with Mum and Dad today. It is great for them to be able to see a lot of each other as they are on the same floor. We used the drinks machine in reception which was useful during our stay. All staff were helpful, as usual, and seemed to have a good rapport with them both.

Harlow Hall

from Adrian C (Nephew of Resident) published on 10 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

When my uncle needed full-time care, I felt guilty as I toured various homes, finding many unwelcoming. Initially, I dismissed Harlow Hall, thinking it was beyond our budget. However, I was pleasantly surprised by its affordability. Visiting the home, I found it exceeded my expectations, resembling
a five-star hotel with 24-hour care.
The admissions process was seamless and respectful, easing my concerns. Now, five weeks into his stay, my uncle is happily settling in, enjoying activities and companionship. Each visit feels like stepping into a warm, welcoming home.
I wholeheartedly recommend Harlow Hall for anyone seeking residential or dementia care for a loved one. It truly embodies care and compassion.

Our friend & neighbour unwell and needed urgently to be admitted to a local care home. We found Tegfield House very helpful and very sympathetic, caring and on the community services advice our very elderly friend was admitted. I have visited many care homes visiting elderly Christian friends and family. I have never found one like Hartford Court where all the staff are so warm and friendly. Two people I could mention at Hartford Court is the entertainment staff and the reception staff. Both these staff members exude care
and compassion to residents and visitors alike. However, I could not exclude other members of staff for also showing empathy. The home is always warm and welcoming. It is clean and friendly. Thank you for your care provided.

Hard to find fault with the quality of the care provided. All staff are happy to help and always give the impression of enjoying working at the home.
The review would have been a negative one if completed last month, however an ongoing issue was finally resolved by the ingenuity of the staff. Shame
the company didn't step in quicker to sort given the cost of staying there.

I was able to visit my mother in December - I live overseas - so not something I'm able to do often. Mum and I have been able to keep in touch via video chats, an enormous plus for us. Mum's hearing and sight are not great, but with help from the activities staff we have managed to communicate throughout
the year. During my visit I was able to have lunch with Mum! Can't beat the fish and chips on Friday! Mum is not one to hold back on complaints, especially where food is concerned - I have heard none! All members of staff I saw interacted with all the patients - Mum has a sweet relationship with some in particular that I was fortunate to witness! It is very reassuring to know Mum is looked after so well in a warm and friendly environment. I'm aware Mum has her own routine, that she does not like to change, but she is gently encouraged to participate in all the activities! Thank you all for looking after Mum.
