We don't think of St. Leonard's as a care home, it is Mum's home and she is a member of the loving family that live there. Mum joined the family 3 years ago and hasn't looked back, she has thrived in the wonderful atmosphere with the excellent range of activities and outstanding care.
We feel blessed
to have found St. Leonard's and are confident and reassured that Mum is 100% happy.

Tremona Care Home

from P B (Granddaughter of Resident) published on 31 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My grandfather moved in to Tremona two years ago, as a family a very difficult decision for us to make he was living in his own home and he wanted to remain there living an independent life. It was clear that grandad required more support than we could give him, we tried home care however he would shower
himself before the carers arrived, he was elderly and finding everyday tasks increasingly more difficult. Although there were signs grandad was officially diagnosed with dementia at the age of 97 and the move into the care home environment was our only option to keep him safe. I am so proud to say it is the best move we ever made, grandad has been so happy at Tremona, the management and care staff are outstanding in every way, we will celebrate his 100th birthday in August I am so happy that we will celebrate with not only our immediate family but with our Tremona family. Thank you all for everything x x

Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My Dad was a resident at St Matthews for 4 months overall and the staff were absolutely wonderful with him during his stay. He wasn't the easiest person to deal with and I imagine that he tested the patience of everyone on a regular basis but he was always treated with dignity and respect. I will be
forever grateful that St Matthews made his last days comfortable and safe, the home is warm, clean and bright and full of interaction if so desired otherwise residents can just be left quietly to do their own thing. I do so wish that we could name individual staff as there were 3 particularly wonderful ladies there who will be forever in our hearts - thank you xxxxx

A beautiful home, always a warm welcome. The carers are very caring and friendly, nothing is too much trouble for residents and visitors. And the grounds and gardens are beautiful. I know I didn't have any worries about my brother, he's in a first class home and well looked after.

White Plains Care Home

from M B (Husband of Resident) published on 26 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

1. The general environment/atmosphere is very pleasant in the care home.
2. My wife always looks well cared for (dress and cleanliness).
3. Wholesome food and varied menu.
4. The attitude and commitment of staff is excellent and I sense a collective spirit of support for each other as well as for
residents. They are always welcoming.
5. As well as the basic caring functions, resident wellbeing requires a holistic approach to stimulate each resident and staff work hard to plan and provide a variety of activities. However, I believe resources are limited and this is an area for better consideration.
6. The ergonomics in the Sunshine Kitchen area is less than perfect and staff cannot see residents if they are washing up! Redesign area? Dishwasher?

Reply from Nina Szmigielska, Home Manager at White Plains Care Home

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughtful feedback. We truly appreciate your kind words about the environment, the care provided to your wife, and the dedication of our team. It is wonderful to hear that you feel a strong sense of support and commitment from our staff, as we strive to create a welcoming and nurturing home for all our residents. We also acknowledge your comments regarding activities and resources, and we will certainly review how we can enhance our offerings to further enrich resident wellbeing. Additionally, your observations about the Sunshine Kitchen's ergonomics are valuable, and we will assess potential improvements to ensure both efficiency and visibility for staff. Your input is invaluable in helping us maintain and improve the quality of care we provide. Best regards.

St Lauras Care Home

from Jenny H (Daughter of Resident) published on 26 March 2025

My Mum went to st Laura's in December, she is very well cared for and there is definitely a family feel to the home. All the staff have been so supportive, especially management. The transition has been an emotional roller coaster for me, but Mum hasn't been aware of any of this. I feel happy and
relaxed that she is in a lovely homely place and a her needs are very well supported.
A big thank you to management, staff and all the carers there that makes Mums day special everyday.
Thank you all so much.

Reply from Eme Cameron, Home Manager at St Lauras Care Home

It is our pleasure to have your Mum in our care. Being a big part of Mums initial assessment - we know how nervous Mum and all of you were for her to come into care. It's heart-warming to see someone settling and St Lauras becoming home. No need to thank us, thank you for trusting in us and working closely with us to ensure Mum is happy and content. We look forward to making more memories with Mum and your family.

St Lukes & The Oaks Care Home

from Alison T (Daughter of Resident) published on 25 March 2025

My mum recently had a chest infection, she was promptly seen by the nurse who attends from the local GP practice and prescribed appropriate antibiotics. Prior to her admission whilst living alone, mum would become very anxious if she became chesty , I was reassured that she would be comforted and was
in good hands from the very kind staff at the home. The senior carer contacted me , keeping me informed of mum's treatment & progress. Mum has been very happy at St Luke's since her admission in Jan 2024. She feels safe , enjoys most meals , likes to be sociable and joins in with all activities. I would like a weekly list of activities as mum has poor memory and would help during our weekly Zoom video calls as I live a distance away. Maybe they could be posted on the Facebook page?

I find all the staff friendly helpful and meet the needs of my brother.
They always contact me with issues that effect my brothers wellbeing. For example if he has a fall irrespective of whether he has hurt himself they will contact me.

The staff at St Luke's are all very helpful and efficient. All issues and problems are addressed and we are kept informed at all times. Each and every one of the staff are super friendly with a kind word to say about our mother. I couldn't be happier with the help and support she is receiving at this
difficult time in her life. Thank you St Luke's

Tara's Retreat Care Home

from Jules M (Granddaughter of Resident) published on 21 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My nan has been at Tara's for over three years and she recently turned 100 years old. Mentally she is very sharp and completely with it however, her body is starting to fail her which has resulted in a number of falls.
After quite a traumatic stay at a couple of hospitals she has returned back to
Tara's (her home). I have been blown away in the care and general concern for her wellbeing. Even the carer's that were not assigned to her floor have been to see her to check how she is doing. Holding her hand, stroking her face, making her laugh, giving her comfort and reassurance and just making her feel loved has meant the absolute world to me.
These carers are incredible people and I cannot thank them enough for what they do and keep on doing. Knowing I can talk to any member of staff whenever I need to gives me total peace of mind and reassurance that Tara's is a truly special place with truly special people. x

Tremona Care Home

from Kim W (Daughter of Resident) published on 21 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

After 10 years of living in this home my mother finally passed away in January. Having experienced a decade of Tremona I can say that the staff have been amazing and very kind. Any small problems were addressed immediately. All basic needs were met but there were many extras included. There is an excellent
social programme and all visitors become as family. Many carers came to my mother's funeral service sacrifice their days off. It's the staff and management that make a place and this has an abundance of incredible dedicated people.

Thank you for your very kind words, Kim. Mum really was part of the family as were all of you, and we really will miss each and every one of you.

My mother was a resident at the Care Home for almost 10 months. It was a shock for my mother going from independent living to needing more support and care. However the kindness and care given by staff helped her to settle in. In fact overall her health improved. All the staff were very caring and always
professional. They demonstrated knowledge and expertise in all aspects of care they gave my mother. It was a happy few months for her. There was a lovely atmosphere in the Home - staff made a point of greeting visitors and I was always made to feel welcome. The staff took an interest in my mother and made every effort to include her in activities laid on by the Home.
