Manor House

from Liz R (Daughter of Resident) published on 19 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Moving a loved one to a care home is probably the hardest decision to have to make, & even more so, finding the best place for them.
From our initial dealings with Manor House to now, four weeks after mum moved in, we have been very happy with how the move has gone. Mum is as settled as she can be,
given her dementia. The staff in the care home are absolutely wonderful. Every member of staff have shown such wonderful care for my mum, & have taken time to know her as an individual, which is so important. Management staff are visible, have good relationships with the residents, and the door to their office is always open. The activities organised for the residents are fun, plentiful and keep everyone engaged and involved. The activity coordinator is fun, enthusiastic and committed, and I can see the benefit that my mum gets from taking part. The food is great too. The staff have been so supportive of us as a family at the hardest time. We are very thankful we found Manor House for mum.

Reply from Sarah Harris, Home Manager at Manor House

Thank you so much for your kind words about our home and everyone in it! It means a great deal when our residents and their families share their views and experience, so thank you for taking the time. Warm regards, Home manager.

Visits to my sister are not getting easier because of her Alzheimer's disease. However, I was surprised to find, when I arrived at 12.30pm that her bed didn't look fully made and there was a smell of urine in the room. I went in to the bathroom and found a pile of dirty clothes ready for washing.

This is Nan's third visit and she seems to be quite happy. The staff all say hello when they pass by. The home is clean but getting a bit tired in the open arears. The residents are given plenty of activities to do and there are plenty games to play. I haven't had experience of other homes but there
is always a happy atmosphere when I'm here.

Beachcroft House Care Home

from A R (Daughter-in-law of Resident) published on 10 March 2025

While visiting my mother in law I witness the kindness, compassion and politeness shown to my mother in law. She was relaxed around and the team Leader was absolutely amazing. She had fantastic communication and interpersonal skills and she listened attentive to everything my mother in law said she
also allowed her to talk without interrupting which I felt was very important. My mother in laws room was clean, tidy, and she wore clean clothes and the home was clean.
The manager was extremely friendly and polite and was opened to suggestions when discussing about my mother inlaw. I could see that my mother in law trusted staff members and they were honest with her. When my mother in law had to have her
naturalisation done they were happy with her having it in the care home which was very convenient due to her health. Although I did not attend the videos they sent were amazing they went above and beyond to make her feel comfortable. Thank you to the staff they are amazing.

Dad spent his last 6 weeks at Autumn Vale and we couldn't have been happier with the care he received there. He had a lovely room the staff were all very good to him and he enjoyed the great food! As for the family, we had peace of mind that he was being very well looked after 24 hours a day. I would
thoroughly recommend Autumn Vale to anyone needing care.

Baugh House

Superb care, fantastic staff, excellent management & facility. The staff are extremely well trained and professional. They are very caring and the home has a very welcoming and family feel to it. Since my father moved in seven months ago the staff have always been kind, friendly and approachable. They
treat all residents with dignity and respect. The facility is absolutely lovely and clean, there are no unpleasant smells at all,. They recently opened up a sensory room for the residents which has a relaxing and magical feel to it. My father's room on the ground floor opens up onto the beautiful spacious patio and garden. The corridors have beautiful pictures from the past throughout the home. The meals are varied & nutritious. The onsite Chef makes a point of finding out residents preferences. The building has good light, it is warm & spacious. I have peace of mind that my father is well looked after and taken care, thank you to the Manager and staff at Baugh House.
