My brother and I are very happy with the care our mum receives. She has been at Acacia for two years. The staff are very caring, respectful and attentive. We are kept up to date with any changes in Mum's condition and our wishes are respected. Management is very kind and approachable and I believe the
home to be well run. The food has improved over the two years and Mum is offered a balanced diet that is tailored to her needs. We're very happy with Acacia House.

Acacia House - Tenterden

from Steve K (Friend of Resident) published on 14 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My friend has been a resident at Acacia House for 17 months following a spell in hospital due to deteriorating health. From the time he arrived he has received excellent care from the dedicated and professional on site team. Although he remains in poor health he has improved greatly since his arrival
which I feel is thanks to the care he receives. When I visit, there is always a homely feel to the property, helped by a warm welcome from the staff (along with a cup of coffee). Nothing is too much trouble when it comes to my friends care or in making me feel welcome when I visit. I am happy to recommend Acacia House to anyone in need of a Nursing Home that has a family feel and provides excellent care for its residents.

Reply from Cristian Tarus, Home Manager at Acacia House - Tenterden

Acacia House are brilliant. Dad is end of life and has quite complex physical and mental health needs. They are making his final months dignified and less stressful for all of us. Their communication is brilliant, the care is brilliant, the medial support is brilliant. I really couldn't ask for more
for Dad at this time.

Brambling Lodge Care Home

from Karen B (Daughter of Resident) published on 7 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My dad had been living at Brambling Lodge for over 4 years. He had mixed dementia aswell as being completely immobile. He sadly passed away recently.
Over the years you get to briefly meet staff but over the few days of my dad's decline the staff were amazing, the care and compassion they showed to
my frail dad was amazing to see. My sister and I stayed over night and the night staff that evening were amazing and we really got to know a few of the carers better over the few days we had left, it is just sad it takes a relative to be end of life to really have the time to chat with staff and get to know what your loved ones likes and dislike are, but also comforting to know they think very highly of them and look after them as one of their own. They have all been amazing and Abode should be proud of all the team they have working for them because all the staff you meet greet you in a kind and friendly way. Thank you Brambling Lodge. xx

My dear mum was a resident at Brambling House Care Home for six months, Mum had to go into residential care after a fall and being discharged from hospital could not go home
My mum, sadly, passed away on the 18th of November 2024, the care that my mum received, from the management to the care team,
was so kind, caring and treated Mum with the dignity and respect that a 96-year-old, very frail lady deserved.
As a family, we were also treated very well, always the door was opened with a friendly face and we were always offered refreshments, was there for us when Mum was very poorly.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Brambling House for anybody looking for a care facility for a loved one.

I am so pleased to say my husband has settled very well in Brambling House Care Home. He is kept clean and tidy by the kind, caring staff. They are always welcoming to me and friends who call in regularly to visit.
I love the way the staff make such a fuss of the residents on their birthdays and Christmas,
wow!
The residents enjoy making decorations with the help of a kind volunteer who spends Tuesday afternoons showing the residents how to make them. It's so lovely to see the concentration on their faces.
I am pleased with the care my husband is receiving on this terrible journey of dementia he is, unfortunately, on.
The caring staff are angels!

My wife was recently taken to a nearby hospital for an appointment. Our daughter met the carer and my wife in hospital as the home suggested a familiar face would be helpful. I was unable to attend. My daughter remarked on how organised, friendly and caring she was to my wife, having organised food
and drink for her as well. My wife has severe dementia.

My brother had previously had respite care in the past year so, on arrival, he was greeted warmly by the staff. He appreciated the good food and looked forward to his meals. Staff were very busy but they had time to make contact with him in his room. In his flat, he had become very reluctant to leave
his bed and have help with personal hygiene. It was a great relief that staff got him back on his feet and allowed them to help with a shower and bath.
I really appreciate the support and relief that my brother's respite care has provided for me.

My dear wife has been a resident for over seven years and there is not a day goes by that she doesn't have the loving care of all the staff. Like me, she is treated like one of their family. I visit every day and help where I can and it's more like a second home for me. The staff are not only caring
but you can feel the love and dedication they give to the residents and visitors alike, in a warm and friendly atmosphere. The meals are varied and served to individual requirements. The rooms are what you make them, my wife's room is comfy and homely, decorated with lots of personal things, which you are encouraged to do. The rooms and social areas are kept immaculately clean and tidy. The residents are entertained with live music, also arts and craft. I never hesitate in recommending Brambling House Care Home and a relative of mine has used it twice recently for respite. I call all the staff... "angels in uniform".

My Dad has been in Acacia for about a year, he really likes it as it has a homely feel. He was in a different care home previously which he didn't take to. But he does like this one. That gives me comfort and reassurance. From my perspective the staff are always welcoming, there is always a healthy
proportion of staff and there are activities daily where participation is optional. There was a recent excursion to a war memorial venue near Folkestone which Dad attended and enjoyed. The staff are good at keeping in touch when decisions need to be made and can't be more helpful and accommodating.

Reply from Constantin Tarus, Home Manager at Acacia House - Tenterden

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts about your Dad's time at Acacia House. We're truly grateful that he feels at home here, and it's wonderful to know that he enjoys the environment and activities, including the recent trip to the war memorial. Hearing that Acacia has given you comfort and reassurance means everything to us. Our team strives to be supportive and welcoming, and we are glad to know that you feel well-informed and confident in the care your Dad receives. We will pass on your kind words to the staff, as they will be touched to hear how much their efforts are appreciated. Thank you again for your trust and for allowing us to be part of your Dad's journey.

This home is just so amazing. My mum is being cared for by this home and from staff to management they are all incredible. My aunt was transferred to Acacia House from hospital for an assessment as her needs have now increased. The welcome she, and I, received was so warm and friendly that she settled in immediately.
Her room is charming and equipped with everything to make her comfortable and she is enjoying the food
and her appetite has increased.
Without exception, every member of staff we have encountered has been kind, caring, extremely professional and helpful and I commend them highly.
She will be moving back to the area she has always lived in and I just wish we could pick up Acacia House and put it down there.
Thank you all for looking after her.

On behalf of the team at Acacia, I would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude for the time and effort you kindly took to review us. It is an absolute pleasure having your aunt here and we are delighted that she settled in so well and has found her appetite again - we've found that good food always makes the world of difference to life's trials! Making our home as friendly and welcoming as possible is paramount to us, not just for our residents, but for our visitors too so receiving such wonderful feedback really means a lot to us. We wish you and your aunt every happiness upon her return to her hometown.

Acacia House - Tenterden

from J L (Sister of Resident) published on 13 September 2024
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5

My sister, who is 88 years of age and has a very serious medical condition, has been happily settled at Acacia House since mid-February 2024. She has been shown great kindness and understanding from both the carers and the nurses and I would never have imagined that she would have been so happy and
comfortable in a nursing home. She now does not want to be anywhere else. The happy atmosphere at Acacia House is apparent as soon as one enters the building and I must say that credit should be given to the manager who, one gets the impression, is liked and greatly respected by the staff in equal measure. This is not an easy balance to maintain when running such an operation.

Reply from Cristian Tarus, Home Manager at Acacia House - Tenterden

Thank you for sharing your sister's experience at Acacia House. It's wonderful to hear she's so happy and well cared for. The kindness of the staff and the positive atmosphere clearly make a big difference, and it's great to see our team recognised for their dedication.

When visiting my Grandad for the first time, I was welcomed by the lovely home administrator who straight away took us to see him. She was very personable and spoke confidently about how my Grandad was and what he had been up to.
During my visit, I noticed that the atmosphere was calm and welcoming
and that everyone was well looked after. Staff were going above and beyond to make us and my Grandad comfortable. A member of staff who was tending to the garden even offered to bring a table and chairs outside for us, so that my Grandad could sit comfortably.
Overall, we are very happy with the care my Grandad is receiving, he seems happy and settled.
