It's a great comfort knowing my father is being so well looked after at Park View. The staff are friendly, kind and respectful to him and others living at the care home. His room is beautifully decorated, furnished well and I was encouraged by the home manager to bring in personal items to make his
room feel more homely which I think has done him good. The activities staff do an amazing job in getting my father and others involved in the events put on and the meals served looks and smell appetising.

St Stephen's

from Tony C (Brother of Resident) published on 19 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

We have always been very happy with the care my brother gets. He is always treated him as a valued person and not just a resident.
His medical care has always been first class. The nurses, at St Stephens, now do their utmost to keep him out of hospital. Rules must be adhered, but we are so grateful
for the work the nurses do to ensure he does not have to suffer a hospital stay.
One of the main reasons for such a good and happy environment at St Stephens is having a manager who is out of her office making sure that everyone is happy and well looked after and taking the trouble to get to know very well each resident and their family. The manager is the heart of St Stephens; we have utmost confidence in her and the manager has become a friend.
St Stephens is a happy place - we have attended numerous parties where family members are always made to feel welcome, and the manager is there to welcome us when we visit.
My brother is in the best of hands, in a happy, caring, and loving environment.

Charing House's standard of care is very high. The staff are friendly, approachable and frequently go above and beyond to make my mothers and others living there feel at home. The move into Charing House has socially done wonders for my mother as she enjoys many of the activities put on as well as there
being other friendly residents to talk to.

Blair Park Care Home

We have nothing but praise for Blair Park and the care Mum has received since moving to the home in May 2024. We were expecting the transition to be very fraught with a lot of resistance on her behalf but she was eagerly welcomed and settled very quickly.
She enjoys the numerous activities that take
place and loves all the staff who are always compassionate towards the residents and are always happy to speak with residents relatives about activities that they have taken part in
Senior members of staff are always happy to speak with you about any concerns and appropriate actions are quickly instigated
I would certainly recommend Blair Park

You never know how a loved one will be once they move into a care home environment, but I must say the staff team at The Oast have made the whole process very smooth. The staff helped arrange Mum's room with her furniture, clothes etc. and the care she has received to date has been brilliant. Her room
had been freshly decorated and the cook does a great job in making sure there is something Mum will enjoy eating.

Hillbeck Residential Care Home

from Susan W (Daughter of Resident) published on 7 February 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My mum was in Hillbeck Residential Care Home for 15 months. During that time she was loved and cared for by all members of the staff who became family to her and myself. Sadly mum passed away recently and I cannot find words to say how the manager and staff went the extra mile in caring for mum in her
final hours. I will be ever grateful she was in their hands. I would commend management, reception, night staff, senior carers, carers and housekeeping who all interacted with mum, myself and each other to offer comfort and care.
I would definitely recommend Hillbeck for your loved one.

Chippendayle Lodge Care Home

from Susan G (Wife of Resident) published on 28 January 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5

After a difficult start to my husbands admission as a resident at Chippendayle Lodge over 20 months ago, I can honestly say the new manager has helped immensely to sort out care issues.
Her door is open to explain my concerns and her cheerful and professional attitude to me has helped, not only in
my husbands care but to lift my mood on the long journey of dementia which at times has not been easy.
I realise that dementia is a difficult and often misunderstood with no real pathway but now I feel at least most of my concerns are addressed and dealt with, therefore giving me a much better way of dealing with long goodbye to a dear man.
Thank you to the manager and your team.

Hillbeck Residential Care Home

from S L (Daughter of Resident) published on 24 January 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My mum has mixed dementia and has been at Hillbeck Residential Care Home for 21 months. I know that she is always been treated with care, compassion and dignity by all of the staff. From management, reception, senior carers, carers, housekeeping, kitchen staff, entertainers and maintenance they are
all brilliant in the way they interact with all residents. There are lots of 'sing songs', BBQs and events throughout the year and weekly visits from different people and organisations including nursery age children and their parents that the residents love to interact with. Even the barber entertains the residents after each visit.
All staff know all the residents and their regular family visitors by name. Staff always know where residents are. As with many dementia residents wandering is a natural thing for them to do. I know my mum could never wander outside because of the security that is in place. I can confidently recommend Hillbeck. It really is like my 2nd home.

It's always a pleasure to visit the home. The staff are always engaging and involve the residents in all parts of our visit. I have been visiting for the past three years - the care and the staff have been consistent and I feel confident that our family member is getting the very best care. The manager
is approachable, friendly and there is mutual respect between the staff and residents. It's encouraging to see a care home running so well and I commend the team's work.

The Vale Care Home

from S L (Daughter of Resident) published on 24 January 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

We are blessed to have found The Vale. It is a calm home from home, the staff are so happy and caring and work really well as a team and have been so welcoming to both my father and myself. The home is comfortable, clean, airy and light with a selection of rooms to sit in with a relaxed atmosphere.
It is a pleasure to visit, my father, the staff and other residents. Dad has advanced dementia in the past he had been reluctant to be in a care home and not always happy to receive care at home, yet at The Vale he settled in almost immediately, after a week raising his hands and saying "this place is fantastic", "the food is good" (It certainly is) Last time I visited Dad was standing at the tea trolley enjoying the selection of biscuits, lovely to see him relaxed and really at home, his room is comfortable and pleasant. During visits the staff give me a brief update on how things have been and any needs which we find is a great way to communicate. Well done all, and grateful thanks.

From the initial visit my mother-in-law stated " I feel safe here" We felt that if there had been an available room at the time Mum would have moved in then. After only a few weeks the opportunity to move came up and with the expertise and support of the management and admin team a move was so easy
to complete. Mum has said that she is enjoying herself but may have to buy more clothes as the food is so good she will be putting on weight. I would recommend this home to anyone.

St Stephen's

from Sue S (Sister of Resident) published on 7 January 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My sister has been at St. Stephens for over 12 years now. When she first moved in she was able to walk and talk. Eat lovely meals and enjoy afternoons out with other residents. The care at that time was second to none. She always looked clean and was happy and contented. Sadly my sister' has declined
since Covid. She now is non-weight-bearing. Needs her food blended and can no longer communicate as before. The devoted care to my sister hasn't changed. She always looks clean and her hair is always pretty. I am away for 2 months at a time once a year and I have no concerns about leaving her. Her food is blended now but it's still home-cooked food.
I have no worries about leaving my sister as I know she is always loved and cared for. I do not hesitate to recommend St Stephens to interested parties. The 12 years have just flown by and I am forever grateful that I was lucky enough to find St. Stephens. Most definitely a home-from-home.
