Thank you to everyone at Barnes Lodge for your efficiency, kindness and health and care expertise.
My aunt arrived in late Dec 2024, she settled in very quickly, she is happy and very well cared for.
She and we have had very positive and friendly interactions with everyone on the staff team.
My
aunt is treated with dignity, she is sleeping well at night, she enjoys the meals and she has made friends with other residents and the staff.
There is a positive welcoming feel. The team organise interesting activites-they provide suitable events for a range of residents' needs.
My aunt likes and looks forward to her weekly visit to the in house hairdresser.
The building is well designed, generously sized, full of natural light, freshly decorated and kept very clean. My aunt likes her room with en suite, and there are also several pleasant common rooms available that she can sit in or attend activities in.
She likes the library, where there are books to borrow and board games to play.

My mum has been in Weybourne for over 5 years now. The care and support given to Mum and us as a family is exceptional. I visit regularly and the staff are always happy, engaging with residents. Mum is always clean and appropriately dressed. I cannot praise the staff for their level of care and compassion,
often under difficult circumstances.

Whilst I have little experience of other homes of this type, I am confident in my choice for my dear wife. I hear nothing but good views from others to back up my personal opinion. Life here cannot be perfect but it is good and safe and supportive. Staff are very good or learning to be good.
I am encouraged
by the not-for-profit charitable status of Avante Care & Support and trust it will continue to do well!

Weybourne

from Nicole T (Daughter of Resident) published on 1 February 2025

My dad has dementia and is a resident of this care home. I was hesitant at first with him attending as he was unsettled with his previous care home and I just wasn't sure how he would be. I can honestly say, this care home is amazing. They cater to each resident's individual needs. My dad was a bit
unsettled at first, but he has started to really settle well and have a sense of belonging within the home. The staff are very welcoming and my dad feels very comfortable with them. I have taken my dad out for the day and upon return he has settled back in with ease. We are also able to book lunch within the care home, so we are able to have lunch together. I'm able to visit with my children, so they were excited and comfortable to be able to be around their grandad. The Manager there is very good. She's very transparent and communicates well, which puts my mind at ease. My dad is very happy, comfortable and enjoys his time there, which is the greatest feeling for me.

Review of

Riverdale Court

from L R (Daughter of Resident) published on 28 January 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My Father moved into Riverdale Court (Cherry) in September 2024, initially for respite but has since become a permanent resident. In December 2024 my Mother joined him and they both require dementia care. From the outset, the care they have received has been outstanding. The home is super friendly warm
and welcoming and spotlessly clean. Staff work exceptionally hard going above and beyond to care for the residents in a kind, compassionate, and considerate way, striving to treat them with dignity. Ideally, we would witness a few more organised activities for those able but slowly this is improving. As a family, we have no concerns and really cannot fault it.

Barnes Lodge

from Kevin P (Brother of Resident) published on 27 January 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My brother has been a resident at Barnes Lodge for eleven months now, I can compare his care because he was at another care home previously. I cannot express my thanks enough to the staff and management! Nothing is too much trouble, from when we arrive to visit until we leave, I have noticed a vast
improvement in his care and cleanliness from his previous care home. Staff are always kind and engaging with my brother, who I must say, doesn't always appreciate this because of his learning difficulties.

Reply from Rebecca Charman, Care Home Manager at Barnes Lodge
