My mother arrived at the care hime back in February 2024. This was an interim placement whilst a permanent place was found nearer to my mother's home. We live quite a distance from Gravesham Place so were unable to visit as often as we would have liked. Making contact with Mum by phone was always easy.
There were always plenty of activities for Mum to join in with at the home, which was so important for her stimulation. When we did visit staff were always on hand if we had any questions.
Thank you so much for all you did for Mum.

No one wants to be just stuck in a chair all day without any interactions. A member of staff told mum she's not her carer and doesn't have to look after her, at almost 92 she does need some level of care. One manager thought she knew it all, and she didn't. For a short-term stop, it's okay but long-term
and lack of stimulation and interaction with residents is enough to drive anyone insane. Each time I visited the staff were around a table laughing and screeching while my mum sat there on her own. Some staff were lovely and showed mum care and respect. Would I ever let another loved one go there, not at all, sadly to say as mum couldn't wait to leave. If I had the choice mum wouldn't have gone there, though she still has her faculties she has sadly lost mobility. Sad to see your loved ones deteriorating but since being moved I've got my Mum back.

Really lovely place, my mum recently stayed here whilst a care package was put in place at her home. The staff are all extremely kind and caring, the facilities are great, cannot praise the care highly enough. Thank you lovely staff on Wittersham for your kindness to my mum.

Very happy with the standard of care and was called this morning to say that whilst bathing my wife they had spotted a potential DVT.
They spoke to Doctor on our behalf and then asked if I could take her into A and E to be checked over and it turned out that they were right and she needed further treatment.
I
shan’t name names but I honestly feel that this is a caring environment with committed staff.

Our mother is regularly in respite - she has always been treated with such care and kindness. Her specific cares and wishes are always taken into account. She is always clean and looks happy when we visit.
We are always made most welcome by the staff. We felt the Covid pandemic was well handled and
Mother was protected and cared for in difficult circumstances.
Having to book appointments to ensure the home is not overwhelmed with visitors is sensible, as is the fact that the staff recognise we all come from quite a long distance to visit and accommodate us with a nice visiting area and a cup of tea. Overall, we are very happy with the service, the home and the staff.

The quality of care my mother received was amazing. Coral Unit at Gravesham Place was kept immaculately clean. The staff were incredible and the care my mother received was first class. Communication throughout her stay was good. Thank you to the whole team on Coral Unit.

My mother was taken into their care in February of 2021.
Whilst there, she witnessed staff arguing, in front of her, with regards to if they should or should not call an emergency ambulance for her.
Also, they wouldn't help her take a drink of water (she was too weak to lift the cup), and told her
to try!
Sadly, my mother passed away.

At the time of this complaint Westbrook House was split into two and had a social care registration and a health registration with CQC. This reviewer's mother was in the care of a local health trust, a service occupying part of the building supporting the local acute hospital with discharges and not the social care part of the service. I did at the time contact this reviewer and explain the situation and that this regrettable incident was not my staff. We give her contact details of managers who were supporting staff on the unit her mother was residing at the time. I hope she managed to get answers and explanations to the concerns she raised.

I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude and thanks on behalf of both myself and my wife (for the wonderful care we both received from everyone at West View), during my stay at the Step-Down unit in the Benenden East Ward. The staff are both totally professional and compassionate. Our needs were
not only met, but exceeded with nothing less than kindness dignity and respect. Nothing was too much trouble and all of the staff were kind and caring towards myself and my wife at all times.

We found the staff and environment very clean and welcoming. Mum has been very well cared for, always looks clean and well kept. The staff are always cheery and can’t do enough to help. Mum's room is cleaned daily and always smells fresh.

My brother has just returned home having had, in his words, a wonderful time.
He had such a lovely break and he certainly didn't want to leave. He had bubble baths, trips out, even a meal out. Obviously, he thought all the staff were first rate.
As his sister, I can't thank you enough for giving him
this great holiday.
He'll be asking me as soon as I see him when he can come again.
