Sadly the deterioration in my mum cannot be corrected from her nearly 3 year stay. Some members of staff were kind, caring individuals that definitely make some of the darker times a little lighter. My mum has now moved and doing brilliantly.

My mother was a resident of Whitstable Nursing Home from Novenber 2024 -February 2025. Her time there, although short, was very happy and she received excellent care from the Nursing staff. Everyone there was attentive and caring and my mother expressed to me on a number of occasions that she felt
happy and content at the home. The meals, freshly prepared from the on site kitchen were excellent and the residents nutritional needs are well catered for. As I did not live locally, the staff kept me well informed and I was always able to speak to my mother by telephone when not able to visit We will be forever grateful to the nursing staff for making my mother's end of life not just comfortable but peaceful and dignified. I would have no hesitation in recommending The Whitstable Nursing Home.

Chestfield House

from Mike L (Son of Resident) published on 21 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My father was admitted to Chestfield House many months ago for end-of-life care after the hospital stopped all his medication and discharged him. From the time he arrived he has received great care and gradually gained weight and improved health, though still frail. The Manager and staff are so attentive
and empathetic. My wife and I feel they are all friends now after many visits. The staff are all welcoming and cheer my father up with cheeky banter which he can dish out himself too. Dad is kept warm and comfortable and he raves about the food, even saying the roast potatoes are the best he's ever had! The meals are so much better than hospital food which is great to know. We cannot thank the manager, the Nurses and all the other staff enough for how they are looking after Dad and his needs. Regarding my individual gradings, the only fours are because his room is a little small and for some reason always at least 25 degrees or more, but no big problem.
Cannot fault anything else.

My mother is a resident at Chestfield House and has been for four years. The care she has had and continues to have has been great over that time.
The staff are all very caring and attentive to her needs. I am kept up to date with any change in my mothers health which is great comfort to me.

I stayed in WNH for approximately 8 weeks for respite care following a bad broken shoulder bone and needing 24 hour support.
Overall the care was good with particular individuals exceptional. Generally I was made to feel welcome and all the staff team made time to cheer the day up.
The nursing care
was good, the kitchen, laundry and cleaning staff were hard working and versatile.

The facility itself is beautifully designed, with spacious, well-lit rooms and areas where residents can relax or socialize. It feels more like a cozy home than a traditional care setting. The grounds are well-maintained, offering a peaceful environment with outdoor spaces where residents can enjoy
fresh air and sunshine

We always feel welcome and supported whenever we enter the doors to Eastfields. We find the staff and management are always on hand for any help we need. Mum enjoys all the variety of foods and drinks on offer to her, she enjoys the activities that are arranged especially balloon games or books. Mum
has been looked after very well and has often called it her home. The home is cleaned daily. Families are always invited to any events taking place which are a very good social occasion to attend.

Haydon-Mayer Care Home

from C S (Daughter of Resident) published on 13 March 2025

On the whole, given the crisis in the care industry, Haydon-Mayer perform as well as can be expected. The carers and staff treat our father with sensitivity and respect and he is happy here. It's a great shame that at present there is not an activities coordinator on site. There always seemed to be
a buzz about the place but sadly no more.

Placing my mother in a nursing home was a difficult but necessary decision. She has been in the home for nearly three years and we have been delighted with her care. As her health conditions have progressed, the team have adapted to changing needs. Beyond great clinical care, the staff have been kind
and professional, treating Mum like a family member. We are delighted that we chose Whitstable Nursing Home.

Mum has been in an assessment bed since November 25th. Her room has always been clean + fresh -she appears well cared for. Staff are always friendly and polite to both mum and myself. The home keeps me informed of any changes in mums health and what she has done (or not done) as the dementia stops her
telling me herself so its important to me to be kept in the loop.

Our experience has been one of relief, reassurance and happiness that our loved one is being so well cared for both in a physical and emotionally caring manner. Her room is ideal offering her lovely views from her windows, which is very important to her.
The warmth and genuinely caring nature of all
the staff is exemplary, she is enjoying the freshly cooked meals and on occasion when she has requested something, it has been provided with a smile and no fuss. She's engaging in the activities and consequently, other residents which is lovely to see. She is very happy here which is a blessing to us all who love her. Thank you.

My friend was admitted to Chestfield House in December 2024. From day one he was treated with great care and compassion, all the staff I came into contact with were friendly and helpful, nothing was too difficult. The nursing staff were always available and approachable.

My 93yr old Mother was a resident from May 2024 until February 2025 and over that period the manager and all her team at Chestfield House have been simply marvelous with their kind, attentive and sympathetic care they provide.
There are no visiting times, just turn up when ever you want (if late at
night let them know), with this in mind, mum was always dressed, washed and in clean bedding right up to the end. Through Mum's health ups and downs, the staffs and doctors communication has from day one been excellent, we never felt out of the loop.
Thank you for everything.
