My father has been in the care system for 3.5 years so we as a family can confirm that in the last six weeks, Dad has made huge progress. Socialising activities are just some of the brilliant daily happening. However, the staff from the office, reception to carers and cleans and volunteers are to me
beyond words. Although busy they all have time to chat and support residents and family alike. No words.

My wife and I visited our relation at Admiral Jellicoe House last week. Having visited there and other relatives in other care settings we can honestly say that we were delighted to see the high-quality provision at Admiral Jellicoe House. The staff are very helpful and friendly and it was evident that
their caring role was much more than just a job. For elderly people the fact that the staff had a good command of spoken English is very important too. Very reassuring for us to know that although our relatives are hours away they are in an excellent facility and are very happy.

Admiral Jellicoe House has been a fantastic home for my mother since she arrived last April. She feels safe, well looked after and feels at ‘home’. The staff have been first class treating her with complete respect and dignity. Nothing has been too much trouble to deal with her needs. I cannot fault
the home. They have taken so much worry away from my mother and we are so grateful.

There came a time when we had to choose to find a home for my mother-in-law, this was not easy at all. From the moment we made contact with Admiral Jellicoe they have been nothing but brilliant.
It is beautiful and clean and all the staff we have met have been full of kindness and care.
The entertainment
lady takes time and never gives up asking anyone to join in.
Also, a member of staff who looks after my mother-in-law has taken time to get to know her and is truly invested in her as a person.
We cannot tell you how amazing Admiral Jellicoe House is!

I am always so impressed when I visit Admiral Jellicoe to see my grandmother. The environment is always so clean and tidy, it is a really welcoming place to live. It was a major transition for my grandmother to move into a care environment, but the team at Admiral Jellicoe have been amazing at making
the transition into her next chapter as smooth as possible. When it was her 90th birthday party the team really did make it special, the catering department made the most incredible cake and it felt such a special time!

I enjoyed three lovely days with my uncle. It was a short visit because I come from abroad. Each time, it was easy for me to book myself in for lunch and to have the use of a wheelchair for my uncle, so we had several outings together. The premises are spotlessly clean, and the staff were always friendly
and caring, as well as reactive to any requests. I am grateful to all the staff for looking after him so well.

It was a tough decision to put Dad into care. We found Admiral Jellicoe House and could not have been happier. Dad was resident number 4 (June 2022). He was so happy to be there with fellow ‘ganges’ boys and ex-Naval personnel.
Initially, there were some teething problems, but they now have an excellent
team who work hard to ensure that their residents and their families are well taken care of. The management are approachable, whatever your concerns and where able, they are addressed. There are various rooms for the residents to come together, tea room, garden room, cinema, bar and library together with the sunny garden (weather permitting) and of course the interactive boat.
The care team and nurses are responsive and caring and show genuine empathy towards both residents and family members, the domestic team work extremely hard to keep it exceptionally clean and tidy.
Sadly, Dad recently passed away, I cannot thank the staff at all levels for the care and compassion they showed to Dad and our family.

During my nursing career as an RGN for many years, I have worked in quite a few care homes.
My husband and I were very reluctant and apprehensive for our son to go into care due to our ages. Unfortunately, this became necessary.
He is a former Royal Marine who is seriously head injured.
Admiral Jellicoe
House was our first and only choice, and we were delighted when he was selected as one of the first residents last year.
This Royal Navy Benevolence Trust Home, in my professional opinion, is exceptional. The staff, from the home manager, the nurses, the carers and the ancillary staff, are excellent.
My husband and I are relieved and happy that our dear son is in your care. Most importantly, he is very content.
We are relaxed in the knowledge that everything is in good order.

My mother moved into Admiral Jellicoe House in August 2022 when there were only eight residents. Although it was a new build it was well layout and the decoration was good. The staff at the time were very happy with any enquiries. Since the home has filled up more the number of staff has increased and
all the staff I have dealt with have been approachable, polite and very useful. Also as Admiral Jellicoe House has employed its own staff it has been better for the residents because they get used to talking and dealing with the same staff. I have been very pleased with the quality of care that my mother has received. Keep up the good work.

My mother was one of the first residents to move into this brand-new home, from day one she was made very welcomed by the management and staff teams. She has been happy in this home, compared with the previous homes. The staff team are very supportive, my mother is now unable to walk, so is hoisted
daily, the staff team try to involve my mother in daily activities, when she is willing. If she does not want to leave her room, they try to bring the activity to her. The facilities are excellent, the food looks lovely, the environment is excellent. One year on, my mother is still happy with the home, the regular monthly relative meetings are very helpful, the monthly email newsletter, activity sheets and menus are great to receive as a relative.

The home is still in the process of settling in and is working extremely hard to obtain high standards. While there have been some teething problems, the management is receptive to feedback and quick to make improvements. The care team and nurses are responsive, caring and show genuine empathy towards
both the residents and family members. The facilities are amazing, and the domestic team work extremely hard to keep it exceptionally clean and tidy. Although there is room for improvement in communication and protocols, I am confident that with time, I will be able to give the home an excellent rating overall. I am very happy with the care my dad receives and look forward to seeing the small improvements required for me to give an excellent overall.

As a serving member of the Royal Navy, I am keen to help and support our veterans in any way that I can. From singing Christmas carols at the home to enjoying a beer at HMS Sultan arranged by staff.
From the conversations that I have with the residents, I can tell that they adore the staff and are
always kept busy with various activities and functions happening throughout the home and outside of the home. I think it’s really important that we don’t forget about our veterans and I urge anyone reading this to pop along for a brew and a chat with the incredible individuals that live and work at Admiral Jellicoe House.

Clean, light and airy, the premises feels larger on the inside than it looks from the outside with wide corridors and spacious rooms. With lounges and dining rooms on each floor, the residents get to socialise more with their immediate neighbours and quickly build new friendships and companions. Plenty
of organised daily activities, cinema, bar and hairdressers. The staff being so friendly and helpful it makes for a friendly and happy atmosphere throughout the home.

As someone with both parents in Jellicoe House Care Home, I can confidently say that they are receiving excellent care and attention from the staff. I am also impressed by their covid policies.
One thing that stands out is their commitment to keeping the family well-informed about the care and well-being
of their loved ones which is greatly appreciated and goes a long way in building trust and confidence in the care home.
There is also a wide range of varied activities on offer for residents, ensuring that there is always something fun and engaging to do. My parents also tell me of something especially delicious cooked up by the chefs every week!
Finally, Jellicoe House Care Home is a brand-new facility that has started off on the right foot. The facilities are modern and well-maintained, and the care home as a whole provides a caring and compassionate environment for its residents.

I brought Mum to Jellicoe in January. Mum was having many difficulties, had been widowed seven months prior, was in early stage dementia, poor physical health and, poor mental health.
From the moment I brought her there she was happy. The staff treated her as though she was their own mother. She was
cared for in every aspect. She loved all the various staff members. She enjoyed the chats, the special cares and attention and, especially loved the food. Which was, in my view worthy of a five star restaurant.
She was very comfortable in her room and appreciated the bed which could be lowered, ensuring easier access.
She enjoyed the activities and was so happy when she was asked to work in the shop, it gave her pleasure and made her feel important.
Whatever concerns our family had were addressed immediately and professionally.
Sadly, Mum died unexpectedly a few weeks ago. I am comforted that her last months were so happy.
My heartfelt thanks to all at Jellicoe.
