I wish to comment on the excellence of care taken by all at the home for my mother, who has been a resident at Huntington for more than five years. I initially had reservations about the quality of care it would be possible for her to receive once it became necessary for her to move from her own home,
but Huntington have consistently exceeded any hopes I could have formulated. The staff have been friendly, welcoming and endlessly supportive of our mother throughout that time, showing endless patience with her. In particular, I am exceedingly grateful for the care and persistence taken in recently resolving a difficult problem involving the local authority. The owner of the care home could not have done more, and I will be forever grateful to the management for their kindness, their generosity, and their obvious concern above all for the welfare of our mother. As others have noted, Huntington House truly is an exceptionally well run care home.

Reply from Charlie Hoare, Managing Director at Huntington House

My mother moved into Huntington House in 2019 after the death of my father when she found she was unable to cope with daily life any more. Having thought her days were nearly over, within just a few weeks there was a noticeable change in her as she became stronger in both body and mind, which I put
down to the exceptional care she received and continues to. She trusts the long-term staff who work there as do I. The homely environment is warm and comfortable, she enjoys her meals (where her dietary intolerances are well catered for) in the lovely dining room, her complex medical needs are looked after by competent, experienced nurses and the staff are genuinely kind and caring. It is a huge comfort to know that she is safe, happy and so well looked after and I really could not ask for anything more. I would add that the way Huntington responded to the pandemic was remarkable and although I missed my mother terribly during this time, I felt that she was in the best place possible place.

Reply from Charlie Hoare, Managing Director at Huntington House

Thanks so much for your heartfelt feedback, and recognition of the team's efforts in the pandemic - your kind words will mean so much to everyone. Best wishes

My husband has been a resident at Langham Court since May 2024. I believe that he could not be in a better place to be cared for. My husband and I are made to feel part of a loving family and we are both given exceptional care and support. All the staff from the manager through to the cleaners are
without exception lovely caring people. They all greet me by name and always have time to talk. My husband's Alzheimer's can make his behaviour challenging at times but I am reassured to know that he is helped in a very sympathetic and caring manner. There is a lovely atmosphere at the Home and it is never a chore to visit. I have never seen a miserable face or heard a complaint from any of the staff, on the contrary, there is always a smile, a friendly face and even a hug if I need it . No-one wants to be in these circumstances, but we are, and we are so fortunate to have such a good care home and lovely team of people in our village.

My mother went into Huntington House for one month for respite care while I was abroad. The feedback from relatives who visited her, and from our own Facetime calls, was always extremely positive. The staff were unfailingly helpful and warm and seemed to have developed a very good relationship with
my mother. This clearly helped her to settle in very quickly and ensured that her stay was a very happy one. We would be delighted to use Huntington House again at some point.

Huntington House was a breath of fresh air from the moment the door was opened. All of the staff, whatever the role were caring, friendly, professional and nothing was too much trouble. My sister was very well cared for, always clean, tidy with lots of company when she wanted it. Her pain very well
controlled, the staff were wonderful, showing real affection for her and us, notifying us of any concerns or changes. We as a family were delighted that her last few months were at Huntington House.

Both my parents have lived at Langham Court since December 2023. Over the last 12 months, we have been blown away by the skill, expertise and caring nature of the team. Their expert nursing care helped Dad through his complex physical care needs whilst the specialist dementia care has supported Mum.
Through the skill of the team, our parents stayed together through their 60-year marriage only separating when Dad passed away this December. The team at Langham (including all staff: manager, receptionists, cleaning, kitchen, and care/nursing teams wrapped themselves around us all as a family. Mum said goodbye to Dad and was skillfully supported during Dad's last days of life. Dad had the most peaceful passing thanks to the nursing team's skill and incredible care support. We feel very lucky that we found Langham and that Mum is happily living there, settled and looked after with expertise and love.

Thank you so much for sharing such an intimate account of your family's experience and of the care we've provided, it will be reassuring to hear for people in a similar situation I'm sure. And wonderful for the team to know that their expertise and love have meant so much to you all. Wishing you and your Mum continued happiness at Langham Court. Best wishes, Charlie

My brother arrived here for his end of life care after several weeks in a hospice. The hospice was excellent but this was a much more suitable and homely place for the time he had left. The nursing care he needed was more than many nursing homes can provide, but the Huntington House team took it all
in their stride. His care was skillful and tender - more like 'a home with nursing' than a conventional nursing home.

He had a lovely large room with an outlook over glorious woodland in a quiet area of the building. Huntington is a converted older house, but the conversion has been done with modern care standards in mind - proper bathrooms, room for the gradually increasing equipment needs, wide doors and corridors etc. The staff do not wear uniforms or name badges, which encourages getting to know their names and a family feel. I certainly felt they knew me (and, more importantly, my brother) quickly. The team responded rapidly to his changing needs, which was very reassuring.

Reply from Charlie Hoare, Managing Director at Huntington House

Thanks so much for such a thoughtful review, and your kind words about your brother's care. It will really help others in a similar situation to know the level of care they can expect from us, and the team will be so pleased that their care was so appreciated. Best wishes

My wife was diagnosed with a rare dementia at the age of 55.
Many care homes do not cater for this demographic let alone the rare dementia diagnosis.
Respite was arranged and I was delighted with the process and thrilled to hear that the staff wanted to learn about her as a person. Truly person-centred
and not just another resident in a care home setting.
In time, as the disease has progressed, full-time residential nursing care has been required and there is no other place that I would want my wife to be. It's not just me noticing this but our children and my wife's siblings too.
The family that owns Langham Court have a unique person-centred approach and staff from the most junior, right up to MD subscribe to the "Butterfly" care model and it shows, having been awarded "Best Dementia Care Home" by The National Dementia Care Awards in September 2024.
If you want a compassionate, understanding care home for your loved one at a time of great stress you will find it in Langham Court.

It is heartbreaking seeing the effects of dementia take hold of a loved one and not easy having to entrust them to someone else; to provide the professional care that is needed. We are very fortunate indeed that our Father is able to be at Langham Court, where the staff have always shown him the respect
and love that he so deserves and which we would want him to always have.
We are truly humbled by the care staff's dedication and professionalism; for which we will forever be thankful. Langham Court is a wonderful place but it is the carers that make the difference; the staff are all special people doing a difficult but an incredibly important job.
Keep up the amazing work that you do and thank you on behalf of our family; it is so very much appreciated.

My mother-in-law has been at Huntington for about 2 years. She is well cared for and seems happy. She has a lovely room looking out onto the garden and field beyond. I feel happy that she is safe and that the provision of 24-hour cover is in place. The staff are very caring and kind and there is a real
family atmosphere which makes you feel confident that your family member is treated with dignity.

Huntington House is exceptional; a family-owned and managed concern, and their ethos of 'Let our family look after yours' really does ring true. From the moment you walk in the door, you can see and feel the genuine caring and friendliness of all the staff. They are all very friendly, and wonderfully
attentive and nothing is too much trouble.
Set on beautiful grounds, Huntington House is a very welcoming place. There are always plenty of activities available each day to those who want to take part. Once staff had worked out Mum's interest they have now encouraged her to participate in many activities which were not previously available to her and as a result, she has made new friends and is able to get outside.
Although she has only been there a few months, I would not hesitate to recommend it.

My friend has been a resident at Huntingdon House for about 12/18 months. She is cared for well by all the staff. Her room is bright and cheerful with views across the grounds. She loves the menu choices and is grateful to the housekeeping and catering staff for the efforts they make to present the
food so well and cater for her likes.
Her birthday was celebrated with other residents in the lounge decorated with balloons and a delicious cake was enjoyed.
When my friend has required medical attention this is provided by the excellent GP Surgery with prompt transfers to the local hospital accompanied by staff from Huntington House. Throughout a protracted stay in hospital, the Huntingdon House team remained in contact with us and with my friend. We could not ask for better care for our dear friend who is treated as an individual but also feels very much a part of the Huntingdon family.

I would highly recommend Huntington House.
As I'm sure with all families it's with a heavy heart the decision to have to put a family member into a home! We had reached a point where home care was no longer possible, the help and support the family got has been continued throughout. Mum has had the
most loving support and care, medically they are very quick to respond and there is always a friendly staff member on hand for a chat with Mum.
She has improved and already settled and has a much happier outlook, I think this is down to the exceptional care and constant smiles she receives 24/7.
Keep up the good work, thank you.
