Feel Mum is in a good place with caring staff, it's very clean, food is great, mum says it's lovely. As she has been chair-bound re her disabilities in her flat she now has company. She is never alone at night as she was. Mum tells me everyone is helpful and kind. Overall it's good and know everyone
is doing their best. Just one thing to mention lack of music in background, it seems to be missing. Mum has settled well and I thank all staff in helping her feel this way.

We thank you for your review and we are glad Mum is settling well. Thank you for your suggestion regarding background music. Just to let you know have a new activities person due to start this month.

Since I have been coming to the home to see my friend, the staff have been very helpful. Always polite. My friend has told me that she is always looked after well by the staff and the food is better than it was when she went in two years ago. Nothing is ever a problem, any time of the night or day.

The Normanhurst Nursing Home is very clean and very welcoming, Mum has settled in really well. Management are always there should we need them. Caring staff throughout the day and especially night. A few more activities would be lovely for all. Mum is happy with the food. Nothing is too much trouble.
I did notice that on occasion it has been very quiet in the lounge, some clients like to just sleep/rest. A bit more music (radio 2) would be lovely but not to disturb them sleeping.

Our wonderful Sister, Mother, Grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away last Sunday 18/08/2024. She had lived at The Normanhurst since 2020.
The care and devotion to her from every member of staff went above and beyond that of any other care home would have given and that continued this week towards
my sister and myself when we visited to sort out her room. These wonderful caring people were as moved with sadness as we are.
I was a Nurse for 44 years, I have experienced examples of poor care but loads of amazing care both in the NHS and in Care Homes. The Normanhurst gave (and I know will continue to do so) some of the greatest care on every level by all staff that I have ever had the honour to experience.
Thank you from all my family.

My father will be moving in permanently shortly and on our 1st visit, it was very apparent how passionate and kind the staff are at Normanhurst. My father was very impressed and he can be very difficult to please, so well done to all. Met some residents too who were all so very friendly and welcoming
to my father - I think we have been very lucky in finding such a wonderful residential home. Thank you.

In the time that I have lived here for 2.5 years, I have been asked my opinion on various topics. The staff are par excellent, some of the most polite and helpful people you may ever meet. We never leave the dining room wanting, a variety of types and alternatives to the main menu. Entertainment is
excellent, the chance to strain the brain on Tuesday's quiz or dance and sing on a Thursday, and quite a few games and exercises on odd days. Try the confection on the higher or lower game. Thank you all.

My mother's room is nice, clean and bright.
The home is very clean and comfortable.
There
is a variety of food choices on the menu. They have activities and entertainment most days. Overall, I think it is a great nursing home and I would definitely recommend it.

Living in Salford with my aunt in Bexhill, it was difficult when during a spell in hospital my aunt would need to relocate from her flat to a care home. She had already identified Normanhurst Residential Care Home as her preferred home. I contacted the manager who expedited my aunt's relocation to Normanhurst.
I visited last week to find my aunt happy and well-settled. Communication from staff has been very good.

Normanhurst Nursing is a brilliant place for my mother. The care is excellent. She always looks clean, her room is clean and comfortable. The food is well presented and looks tasty. The care staff are pleasant and they spend time talking to the residents. Since she has been there, her legs which used
to swell up, look mottled and sometimes develop cellulite have completely healed and look really good due to the care attention given to her at Normanhurst. They have things in place to interest their residents and think up extra events to entertain them. The staff are first class!

This place has been a blessing! I was so stressed when my dad had to go into care and Normanshurst has been the best thing that could have happened to him. I live 100 miles away but I can sleep knowing that my dad is being taken care of to a very high standard. I do not tell them beforehand when I am
visiting but when I turn up my dad is always comfortable, clean and relaxed. The staff are fantastic, friendly, informative and go the extra mile. Highly recommended

My mother was reluctant to leave her flat. She will return home shortly after three weeks of respite. During that time, she has been difficult, but the staff have been brilliant. The family hope that she will accept that she is better off at the Normanhursy and return.

My aunt has settled in extremely well at Normanhurst. The staff have been so friendly and caring. They even arranged to take her personally out to get a seafood treat for her supper when she was 'resident of the day' recently. There are plenty of activities to stimulate her and all the staff and other
residents are always welcoming for family members to join in. The location is perfect, on the seafront with great views.

I can't praise the staff and owners enough. We have had many years of experience dealing with them, not only were our 'mothers' there, but also my partner (for respite) and my wife's aunty. We have been to other nursing homes before settling on Normanhurst and to say they go up and above what is required
is no exaggeration. From home-made food to excellent care, I would have no hesitation in recommending them.

I opted to spend a week at Normanhurst for respite following surgery. Proved to be one of my very best decisions. There is no praise high enough for the care and attention I received from every member of staff that I came into contact with.
Nothing was too much trouble even at 2 am when I accidentally
knocked over the bed table scattering everything sitting on it. I even had a welcome cup of tea given to me. The bedroom and bathroom were bright, clean and welcoming. The entire experience was almost like a family visit to long unseen relatives. While it is true the building could use some TLC, the most important ingredient to consider when choosing a safe place for yourself or a loved one is there in multiples and in common to all carers and staff. i.e high levels of dedication and commitment to those in need of good and loving care.
