I am very pleased with all the staff at 'Forest Hill' on how they look after my very sick mother. The total dedication of all the nurses and sisters in the care and respect for my mother. Also all the hard work of those people such as cooking, cleaning, coffees etc. I never have any worries about my
mother's welfare when I am not present.

Mum had become frail and needed care, although she did not instantly accept her predicament and the reliance on others. The whole team at Larks Leas did their utmost to welcome and integrate Mum, initially for respite but with a view to it becoming permanent.
The room was freshly decorated, had a pleasant
garden view and felt comfortable and homely. Mum was a somewhat fussy vegetarian but the kitchen staff did their utmost to help find her food and choices that she liked. Having experienced some rather poor treatment from two different hospitals the whole atmosphere and level of care provided by Larks Leas was very reassuring and we knew that Mum was being cared for properly. Integrated correctly with treatment from local GPs and nurses.
Without a doubt, it was a difficult decision to place Mum into a care home but Larks Leas did their utmost to make the transition as smooth as possible. I would not hesitate to recommend them as an ideal location for residential care.

The staff at Forest Hill House are exemplary. There was nothing they wouldn’t do to ensure Mum’s health and happiness during her time there. During the last few days of her life, my brother and I and my sister-in-law were always met with welcoming faces and kind words, and we could see how they too
were affected by Mum’s recent passing. I live 200 miles away from Dorset, and I always found the Nourish Family Portal very informative and it eased my mind to see the level of care Mum received 24/7. We will never, ever, forget the dignity and respect shown to Mum and to us. Thank you once more for looking after Mum so well.

Castle Farm Care Home

from Dave H (Nephew of Resident) published on 14 May 2024
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

I cannot speak highly enough about Castle Farm Care Home. It is out in the countryside, surrounded by open farmland and a vineyard. So it's both beautiful and peaceful.
Our aunty was lucky enough to spend seventeen, very happy, months there.
It is relatively small with, I believe, about nineteen
rooms. The staff are always friendly, helpful, professional and clearly take pride in the happiness of their residents.
As a result of all of the above, the home feels like a very large family. Some larger organisations may struggle to achieve this.
We consider ourselves very lucky to have found Castle Farm and unreservedly recommend them to anyone looking for a home for a loved one.

Castle Farm Care Home

from G O (Daughter of Resident) published on 9 April 2024

My mother has been a resident at Castle Farm Care Home for just over a year. Great care has been given to her throughout this time and efforts made to integrate with other residents and become part of the community. All the staff are extremely helpful. The standard of personal care is great. Her room
is always clean and an effort is made to arrange her flowers and belongings as she wishes. The handyman does a marvellous job with her patio and keeping her feeders topped up!
Last week she was fortunate enough to reach her 100th birthday. She was made to feel very special with a wonderful afternoon tea with all the residents. The staff made a real effort to decorate the lounge for the occasion. Whilst she was having her hair done, they sneaked into her room and gave it a makeover. She was delighted and her family will never forget this milestone.
Thank you everyone!

Castle Farm Care Home

from Lynn L (Daughter of Resident) published on 26 March 2024
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My mother lived at Castle Farm from July 2021 until she passed away in January this year.
Throughout her time there, she was treated with amazing kindness, care, love and respect.
The home is indeed that; a home. It has a wonderful calm, caring atmosphere. Staff are approachable, friendly and always
helpful. They not only looked after Mum but us, as a family, too.
What is so evident is that the staff genuinely seem to enjoy their work, going over and above.
Lovely parties laid on for the Jubilee, Christmas etc. Staff coming in on their days off to host residents and their families.
Mum loved the meals and entertainment. She was happy in her room which was bright and always clean. Mum was treated as an individual; staff knew her and how to encourage her.
Sadly, Mum reached the stage in her life where she needed round-the-clock care. We consider ourselves so fortunate that Castle Farm could accommodate her. As a retired nurse myself, I can truly say that this care home is truly outstanding.

Forest Hill House Nursing Home

from E B (Wife of Resident) published on 6 March 2024
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My husband has been a resident of Forest Hill House for over two years. His welfare and well-being are my top priority. I am extremely grateful for Forest Hill House. Searching for a care home is often done when your energy level is at its lowest and navigating this decision can feel like a minefield.
When researching any home reading the Care Quality Commission ratings is a must. Every person I have had contact with at Forest Hill House, from top management, the nursing team, support staff, activities coordinators, cooks and general cleaners could not leave me with a better impression. They are caring, friendly, professional, and very understanding. None of us want to be in the position we find ourselves in now. One blessing, and I mean a real blessing, can be finding a nursing home where you know there is quality care and enjoyment of life. My experience tells me that Forest Hill House will not disappoint. I give Forest Hill House my highest recommendation.

Larks Leas Rest Home

from Brandon G (Son of Resident) published on 6 March 2024
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Mom was very independent and reluctant to go into care. So back in late 2021, we arranged initially for her to have a 'holiday' for two or three weeks at a highly recommended rest home. She felt so happy and secure at Larks Leas that she remained on her holiday until January 2024 when she passed away
at the age of 91. Mom being a very gregarious soul enjoyed the community, and made one or two very special friends, who along with the caring staff made her sojourn at Larks a delightful period in her life. The living conditions at the home were excellent, Larks is not a huge old building like some care homes, it is a fairly modern building with a nice intimate friendly feel to it. Her room was lovely and well-kept. Mother was always a good cook herself and greatly appreciated the fine meals provided by the kitchens, good variety every day. And finally to the staff and home management, who were excellent, helpful, and supportive at all times, thank you for looking after my mother so well.

Castle Farm Care Home

I chose Castle Farm residential home for my Grandmother due to the homely feel, the activities on offer and having heard good reports on the care for the residents. My grandmother lived at Castle Farm for 5 years, and in that time she was looked after with great care and compassion; I never had any
cause for concern or complaint. Sadly she passed away in December, but she was treated with kindness, dignity and respect right up until the end. The staff truly care and are amazing and that above everything else is what counts the most.

Forest Hill House Nursing Home

My mother went to Forest Hill directly from the hospital following a fall in March 2022 and from the moment she arrived the whole team treated her with care and respect. There was nothing they wouldn't do to help her settle in and to ensure as her daughter I was kept fully informed of how she was which
was a great relief.
I always felt very welcome when I visited and nothing was too much trouble.
Mum passed away in September 2023 having been on end-of-life care. The dignity and care all the staff provided her was excellent and I never felt she was alone. The support they gave me was also really appreciated, I felt I was among friends.
Forest Hill is a lovely home and I would recommend you take a visit if you are looking for somewhere caring.

Mum spent her last few years at Larks Lees. She arrived after being in an interim placement during Covid. She was helped to feel at home and secure. Her room was beautiful and overlooked the gardens. Mum, unfortunately, developed dementia and became bedridden, and the care and love shown to her were
outstanding.
She passed away whilst I was abroad, but I was informed daily of the situation, and the most amazing caring staff, including Mum's ‘angel’ stayed with her the entire time. I will be forever grateful that I found Larks Lees for Mum.

The care my mum received from the home was always personal and professional.
Mum was made to feel part of a family, and she always enjoyed taking part in the activities and got on well with the residents. At Mum's end-of-life care, the home went over and above to make Mum's last days as happy and restful
as possible.
