Thank you for making this last season of my mum's life so comfortable. I watched the staff care for her with tender gentleness as if she was your own relative. You made her feel safe and secure and even though she wasn't able to articulate that herself, just to see her smile at you said it all and in
so doing you were a huge support to me as well. From the nursing staff to carers, activity staff, chefs, cleaner and admin... you have all bee wonderful.

My mother has received excellent care since she went into Fernbank a couple of months ago. All the staff have been so friendly and helpful and genuinely care about the residents. Nothing is too much trouble, and they have gone the extra mile to help with on-going care. The facilities are really good
and the place is kept very clean and tidy. Food is also very good and the staff will always offer to provide a drink and biscuits or cake when we visit. I am happy to recommend Fernbank Care Home.

My mother moved to The Poets when she was no longer able to look after herself in her own home. The care that she was given by the kind and thoughtful staff was excellent . The domestic facilities such as laundry was very efficient, the meals and snacks were tasty and well-presented. When my mother
needed end of life care, her care plan was adapted seamlessly and she received the very best care and support in surroundings with which she had become familiar and where our family were able to stay with while the nursing staff continued with their care, of my mother. I felt like the The Poets was my home too!

Fernbank feels like a family. Every member of staff from carers to maintenance and kitchen staff knows and treats the residents with respect and compassion. The home is very clean and well maintained and everyone is warmly welcomed.
There is always staff popping in for a friendly chat or just making
sure mum is okay. I am very happy with the care and attention mum receives and more importantly, mum is happy at Fernbank. I would not hesitate to recommend this very caring home.

Abundant Grace Nursing Home

from Thomas E (Respite Resident) published on 28 February 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5

As a 23-year-old who requires care and sometimes having to go to respite, I am always nervous about going somewhere new. I had a two-week respite stay at Abundant Grace, and as soon as I met the staff, my anxiety went away. Everyone was so friendly and so helpful. The staff helped me settle in and unpack.
My medication, which is quite important for managing my conditions, was always given on time by the lovely nurses. I can't praise the carers and nurses enough. During the night, there is always carers on hand when I require assistance. My only slight issue was always feeling during the day like a little bit of a pain when asking for things as the staff were always so busy, but I was never made to feel like this, just a personal feeling. The home is very clean and tidy, the housekeeping staff are attentive to cleaning the bedrooms and communal areas every day of the week. It would have been nice for the manager to pop by and say hello and introduce himself, but this is not a massive issue.

Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My mother was a resident at White Lodge for over 6 years until December 2024 when her care needs increased. She has therefore now moved to a nursing home run by the same company. She settled very well at White Lodge. She knew all the staff and they knew her and she had a good bond with them all. All
the staff are friendly and respectful and go above and beyond to look after the residents. My mother much enjoyed the food and was able to have her favourite dishes. White Lodge have a very good range of activities. The manager and head of care are both very approachable and caring and do their best to make White Lodge a welcoming environment. I would recommend White Lodge.

Blatchington Manor

from Jayne F (Daughter of Resident) published on 30 January 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My mother became a resident at Blatchington Manor about a year ago.
I believe she was happy during her time there. She certainly enjoyed the music and the singing.
My experience of staff from every part of the organisation has been extremely positive. They always have a welcoming smile, a supportive
demeanour and a kind word.
The care of my mother during the last two weeks of her life was exemplary. There was huge attention
to detail, excellent communication with myself and the family and a sense that 'nothing was too much trouble'.
It is a great comfort to me to know that my mother was so beautifully looked after at the end of her life.
As a retired nurse I fully appreciate the skilled nature of the work that you do. Not only the practical element of the work, but also the empathy demonstrated by all the staff. The ability to consistently demonstrate such an empathetic attitude is a credit to all those individuals - but also the organisation within which they work.

My husband has been at Berkeley Lodge Nursing Home since October 2024 and so far, I am very impressed with his care. He is treated with respect and dignity. The staff are very patient, supportive and professional. The place is clean and the food very good. An establishment runs smoothly if it is led
by a capable management team and I can't praise the manager enough - she is professional and always has time for the family - an asset to Berkeley Lodge.

Eastridge Manor

from E S (Son of Resident) published on 23 January 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My Dad spent 18 months at Eastridge Manor and was cared for as if he was a member of the family, we were always welcome at whatever day or time we arrived. The staffing ratio seems to work well meaning we felt comfortable leaving Dad in their care. We also have a lovely memory of the summer 2024 fete
in the well tended grounds, and sitting in the secure garden.

On occasions when we needed to know about something to do with healthcare or medication, staff would take the appropriate action communicating with us about their concerns. There are a number of places to chat when you visit other than the bedroom you have allocated for your family member, which is lovely.

Food was good, including curry a particular favourite for Dad, but fish on Friday and roasts were well enjoyed too. A new chef summed it up by saying he cooked as if he was doing this for his relations. We would recommend Eastridge Manor.

Berkeley Lodge Nursing Home

My mum and stepfather have been at Berkeley Lodge Nursing Home for almost a year now. They both have very different needs. Mum found it hard to settle down at first but the staff and management have been wonderful. Using different techniques and working with me to help her. All the staff are lovely
and caring. The home is very clean and they both have lovely rooms. They have their own activities staff and Mum has been encouraged to join in. She has enjoyed this much to my surprise. They are very well looked after. I live in France, so have found it difficult, but the staff have always been on hand to help and support me. It is all the little things they do that mean so much. I was lucky to find Berkeley Lodge and even luckier to find a home that would take them both together. Thank you.

White Lodge

I moved into White Lodge 18 months ago for a planned 6 week respite following a hospital stay. I opted to stay on a permanent basis having realised I was becoming incapable of living independently in my own home, a big step. White Lodge meet my needs for a smaller space property which made it made it
feel more of a family home. Recognising my transition from living at home, I felt the whole team provided all of the necessary support and care to help me adjust. The food provided was far nicer to what I had been having. I would certainly recommend White Lodge to anybody looking for a new home.

Eastridge Manor provided my father, with outstanding care in his final days. Set on beautiful grounds in Wineham, West Sussex, the environment itself is peaceful and uplifting, a place where he could enjoy the sight of wildlife and lush gardens from his ground-floor room. Special thanks to the Manager
for finding him such a serene space. The entire team went above and beyond, showing genuine affection and tenderness in every interaction. The compassion in the nurses' eyes was something we'll never forget-it reassured us that he was not only being cared for but truly valued. The warmth and professionalism of the staff made all the difference, comforting him and our family with kindness and grace. We cannot thank you all enough for everything you did for my father. Eastridge Manor will always hold a special place in our hearts. Thank you for treating him with such dignity, respect, and love which everyone truly deserves.

Berkeley Lodge Nursing Home

from Mel P (Husband of Resident) published on 18 November 2024
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My wife has been in Berkeley Lodge Nursing Home for over six years. There has been inevitable changes in staff during this time, but I have always found management and staff thoroughly professional, businesslike and friendly.
My wife has been cared for extremely well, during this lengthy time.
An
example very recently, was that my wife suddenly deteriorated, in the middle of the night. Her condition was evaluated by the duty nurse, and stabilized. The nurse phoned me and explained what had occurred and how it had been dealt with, to my entire satisfaction.
First thing, the following morning, the manager, recently appointed, phoned me and updated me on what the Doctor had reported to her. Everything very efficient as one would expect from a top class Nursing Home.
My wife has recovered to some degree and continues to receive excellent care.

My Mum moved to Rookwood in July this year following a fall in another care home, due to the care my Mum had received at her previous care home I was initially quite wary of care homes generally, but it soon became apparent to me that I didn't need to worry about my Mums care any longer. Rookwood is
an exceptionally well-run care home, the staff are genuinely friendly and kind to their residents and both me and my family feel welcomed when visiting. The activities on offer are wonderful, with lots of variety and fun things going on. The staff is really bubbly and enthusiastic, with regular exercise sessions too, and a lovely resident-focused atmosphere. The food is great with several options for all three meals of the day, Rookwood is spotlessly clean, dining room is laid out beautifully. I have access to care notes, which is great, and also staff ring if there is anything out of the ordinary happening. Most importantly my Mum is very happy here and well cared for. This is a very good care home.

My mum went into Blatchington Manor Care Home just over 6 months ago. We really didn't want my mum to go into a home but she needed, by then, 24 hour care which we were unable to give her. The staff have been amazing, nothing is too much to look after my mum. Whenever I leave mum, I know she will be
really well looked after and they treat her with the respect and dignity she deserves. The food is lovely, with a varied menu each day, which my mum loves, and now eats foods she would not eat before. The building is always clean and the facilities and activities that my mum does each day are amazing. Every staff member treats my mum like their own mum and also know every resident by their first name and nothing is too much. I would like to say a big thank you to all the staff at Blatchington Manor Care Home for being an amazing support to my mum, myself and my family.

Pentlands

from Theresa D (Daughter of Resident) published on 16 September 2024
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My lovely dad was a resident in Pentlands for 2 and a half years, this was a very hard decision as anyone would know when having to make this on behalf of a loved one so it's very important to get it right, which we did. In this time Dad got the best care I believe with the carers picking up straight
away if something wasn't right, the nursing staff, matron, clinical lead would act on it with nothing being too much trouble. I used to try and go in every day often at different times. Whether it would be the cleaning staff, laundry, activity they all became so important in Dad's care as they all played a part in taking time to chat to Dad. I was able to take my dog in and go at any time day or night and to me they all became a huge support knowing I could leave Dad there and he had the best of care. As my dear dad declined it was even more noticeable that nothing was too much trouble even the kitchen staff trying anything to try and get Dad to eat, I can't thank them all enough.
