Chiswick House

from C M (Wife of Resident) published on 20 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Having spent 9 weeks in hospital, my husband needed to convalesce at home. Due to my foot being in plaster for 6 weeks following an operation I was not able to care for him, so the family decided to place him in Chiswick House for respite care. He spent the last 2 months in there and we all found it
to be extremely beneficial and supportive. The staff are very caring and happy to go 'the extra mile'. His room was delightful with a very pleasant view. New friendships were forged and he has made a steady gain in mobility and wellbeing having joined in exercise classes and general discussion groups. Everyone in our family especially my husband is extremely grateful for the kindness, encouragement and care he received while there.

Reply from Richard Lain-Smith, Head of Marketing and Social Media at Chiswick House

I was invited to a Valentine's Tea Party at The Lodge yesterday. Mum and I had such a lovely time and it was so nice to see how much effort the staff had made to ensure both residents and visitors enjoyed themselves. What a thoughtful gesture to give all the lady residents a red rose and the gents some
biscuits. Mum is 101 now and I shall always treasure these happy times I spend with her, knowing she is content and so well looked after, thanks to the very caring staff at The Lodge.

I am visiting my mother-in-law and am very impressed at the facility. Everyone is patient, kind and very helpful. The building is beautiful and well maintained. I like that the residents can do as much or as little as they like. There are plenty of things to do should the residents want to. The food
looks good, plenty of choice and the tea abounds. Thank you for taking such good care of this special lady.

The staff treats my great-grandad very well, he is happy where he is and it gave him his life back. The manager is absolutely lovely, he loves her. He is noticeably happier being in the home, even making friends which is much better. The activities they hold keep him active and lively. Visits are easy
and smooth-running, the food is good as well as the drinks offered. The rooms are safe and secure, also offering the residents freedom and multiple options. Couldn't ask for a better home for him to be in.

The Gables

from Alana R (Daughter of Resident) published on 13 January 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

We had an excellent experience with The Gables in Chatteris where both my parents lived for 6 weeks. The quality of care they received was excellent and all the staff were kind, compassionate and attentive, and always ready to help with their needs. They took the time to get to know my parents personally,
which made a real difference in how comfortable and happy they felt. The rooms were comfortable, homely, bright, and clean and the common areas were welcoming and encouraged social interaction among residents. Meals were nutritious, varied and tailored to the individual and could be taken in their room or in the dining area. Communication with the staff was seamless. They kept us informed about my parents' well-being and were always open to discussing their care plans or any concerns. I am deeply grateful for the exceptional care my parents received at The Gables. I highly recommend this care home to anyone seeking a nurturing and professional environment for their loved ones.
