To me York House is home from home. The management and the carers are friendly, and very helpful, and keeps you up to date with everything. And father-in-law seems to be very happy in there.

My mother has been a resident of this care home since December and I cannot praise them enough for their support, care and patience during this time. She suffers with very bad anxiety and needs constant reassurance with this. The manager has been very supportive of her and makes every effort to reassure
when she is like this. The rest of the staff are also always willing to assist her and encourage her in her day to day life. I am very impressed with daily entertainment which they all seem to enjoy and it makes the residents lifes more fulfilling. I would highly recommend this care home.

Chiswick House

from C M (Wife of Resident) published on 20 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Having spent 9 weeks in hospital, my husband needed to convalesce at home. Due to my foot being in plaster for 6 weeks following an operation I was not able to care for him, so the family decided to place him in Chiswick House for respite care. He spent the last 2 months in there and we all found it
to be extremely beneficial and supportive. The staff are very caring and happy to go 'the extra mile'. His room was delightful with a very pleasant view. New friendships were forged and he has made a steady gain in mobility and wellbeing having joined in exercise classes and general discussion groups. Everyone in our family especially my husband is extremely grateful for the kindness, encouragement and care he received while there.

Reply from Richard Lain-Smith, Head of Marketing and Social Media at Chiswick House

I am visiting my mother-in-law and am very impressed at the facility. Everyone is patient, kind and very helpful. The building is beautiful and well maintained. I like that the residents can do as much or as little as they like. There are plenty of things to do should the residents want to. The food
looks good, plenty of choice and the tea abounds. Thank you for taking such good care of this special lady.

My father took up residence at Chiswick House at the end of December 2023. He had some falls in the early months requiring hospital care which was dealt with well by the home even though the ambulance took over three hours to respond. He feels at home in Chiswick House but considers there could be improvements
in residents washing facilities.

I wish I had more stars to award. Our mother was a resident at The Beeches for the final five months of her life and we never had any concern that she was not being cared for as well as possible. All the staff are really lovely, nothing is too much trouble and they clearly understand the trials of dementia
and Alzheimer's. The home is always clean, tidy, welcoming and superbly managed. It thoroughly deserves it's 'outstanding' rating. I should also mention that the accounts department at Black Swan are similarly friendly and helpful.

Reply from Amanda Bensly, Regional Manager at The Beeches

Thank you so much for your kind feedback. We have shared this with the staff. It was a privilege to look after Mum and listen to her stories for the short time she was with us.

Mum is really happy at Park House. She has made friends and gets on very well with all the staff.
They like her too.
She enjoys the singing and trips to events, especially the Remembrance Day service and summer fireworks.

A delightful afternoon visiting my aunt for her birthday with an excellent afternoon tea provided by the staff at York House. This is such a friendly, vibrant place with helpful staff and happy residents. Residents' rooms are spacious and clean. The lounge is busy and well used by visitors and my aunt
