Broadlands Park

from Chris S (Daughter of Resident) published on 25 December 2024
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Mum has been a resident at Broadlands Park since December 2021. Since then, it has become increasingly clear that the staff here are truly remarkable: incredibly patient, kind and dedicated, always going above and beyond to ensure that Mum is safe, comfortable and valued. Genuine compassion and respect
are evident daily. There is a strong sense of community and a family like atmosphere that is incredibly comforting. Broadlands Park isn't just about delivering physical care; there is a true emotional connection which makes all the difference!
I have been consistently involved in decisions regarding her care plan and other routines. It is clear that everyone has taken the time to understand Mum's unique needs and personality which has made a positive impact on her life and our family's peace of mind.
I cannot express my gratitude for the wonderful care that Broadlands Park provides. I can honestly say that I sleep better at night knowing that Mum is in a truly special place. Thank you.

The staff at Broadlands Park are just wonderful. They treat my mum with respect and the utmost kindness. In fact, I think they regard her as one of their own family.
Not only do the staff care for my mum, they take an interest in my family and are supportive of me at difficult times.
The home is always
clean and there are always plenty of staff around.
The management have taken on board any queries or concerns I have raised and have acted upon them.
The only criticism my mum has had is about the food. I think, at times, the food could have been a bit warmer or the choices slightly better. She is always grateful, however, for the extra portion of cream she is given on her puddings!

Braydeston Court

My mother was a resident at Braydstone Court, Brundall. She was there for about seven years until sadly passing away November 2024.
Whilst the building is older and a little imposing from the outside, the atmosphere inside is warm and welcoming. Visiting is a relaxed affair and all the staff are very
friendly and available to discuss any problems. I was always kept updated on her care and needs. My mum was Spanish and on her birthday one year, the home threw a Spanish-themed party for her. From my observations, all the residents are treated with respect and consideration. Mum wasn't the most accommodating of people but she never had a bad word to say about any of the staff or the home.
During the last three weeks of Mum's life, the home was in constant contact, keeping me aware of any changes etc., which was important as I live a long way out of the area.

I visit my father on average, every fortnight and overall my experience is very good. On arrival all staff are friendly, everything is clean, tidy and warm and I'm often offered a drink, which is nice. I am pleased my father is with you and I don't have any concerns or worries about his care.
The star
system below does not allow me to select 'don't know' for the likes of management, which I am unable to comment on.
One thing to add, is that my father has said that in his 10 months of being here, he has not been visited by a senior member of staff or management to enquire on his opinion on things.

As a family we never really wanted our mum to go into care unfortunately we had to make that decision after Mum's health declined. As a family we cannot thank or rate Broadlands Park enough the way they have cared for Mum is outstanding, warm friendly welcoming the staff go above and beyond for Mum
and we couldn't have asked for more. Mum's health has now declined further and is now palliative again the staff have gone beyond to make Mum comfortable and relaxed, the way they have supported us as a family is outstanding and they deserve more than 5 stars.

Broadland House

from Michael B (Son of Resident) published on 5 December 2024
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Broadland House is excellent. My mother resided at Broadland House from 2017 until her passing at the age of 97 in March 2024. When she entered the home, we were worried about her, she had lost most of her mobility, she was confused and was not eating or taking her medications properly. We expected
the deterioration to continue and were astounded to see the changes for the better. The staff helped her improve her mobility and she became less confused and more like her old self. She quickly grew to love the staff. She was very happy with the freshly prepared food which was just the sort she used to make herself. I and all of her other family members were so grateful to see this transformation. She remained very happy and secure at the home until her final days and here again, we were so grateful to the staff for their sensitive end-of-life care. We could sense that the staff cared for Mum because they loved her not because their job required it. We give the home the highest rating.

Broadland House is a very special place. It is the place that cares for my Mum.
The extraordinary staff are totally focused on providing round the clock resident centred care.
I am able to visit, telephone or email Mum and always find her happy and full of positive stories of her life in Broadland
House, contact with other residents and friends and the caring attention of the managers and staff. Despite the pressures, the staff always seem to be able to spend time to stop and chat with Mum.
Mealtimes are particularly special and happy times in the daily life at Broadland House and everyone takes part including the managers.
I am so grateful that Mum has such a lovely place to live.
Thank you Broadland House, for all that you do.

Broadlands Park

from Anne W (Daughter of Resident) published on 4 December 2024
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

I have always found the staff at Broadlands Park to have a very professional with a kind approach to the care of my mother. I am always updated by phone of any doctor's visits or health issues that have arisen, speaking with friends I have found that not all care homes provide this information. My
mother has been at Broadlands Park for five years becoming a resident on leaving hospital after having a stroke. She was unable to walk but the staff worked with her doing the daily exercises given by the physiotherapist and after a few weeks mum was able to walk again with the aid of a frame. My mother has been very happy at Broadland Park and has been looked after very well.

Both Mum and Dad have lived at Broadlands Park. Visiting is very open and I am warmly greeted by staff whenever I visit. I feel looked after too. I have seen kindness and calm professionalism across all staff teams, housekeeping, kitchen, maintenance, care and managers. I can have open discussions about
care including by phone. Collaborative working includes excellent access to medical staff. I have been helped as an attorney and by the finance team. Staff took time to listen to Dad and engage him in conversation about things he has done in his life and was proud of. His compassionate end of life plan took account of his wishes. A focus on what an individual can do is shown differently with Mum. Her care plan has included accompanied walks round and supports her ability to be safely independent e.g in dressing, making her meal choices and walking in the secure garden. Mum tells me they're well looked after. The food is good and there's always someone to talk to.

My mum has been at the home since October 2024. She has mobility issues but does not suffer from dementia. She has a beautiful room which was very well presented and she is very comfortable there. The staff are extremely attentive and very caring. They really get to know the residents. This is important
to my mum as she is very keen to have people to talk to. I understand that the conservatory is being made into a second sitting room and I am sure this can be put to good use by the residents. Whenever I visit the home I am made to feel very welcome and again the staff are very friendly and have time to chat. I am kept very well informed about any issues concerning my mum.

Absolutely excellent Care Home, my Aunt had to move from her previous Care Home because of closure. My Aunt is 93 years old and I know it was going to be a huge upheaval for her. I contacted Broadlands Park to ask if they had any room for my Aunt. I spoke to two members of staff and I must say they
put me at ease immediately. They visited my Aunt at her Care Home she was leaving to assess her and straight away the way they greeted her and spoke to her was 100%. She moved in 1 week later and the care and support she gets from everyone too many to mention just thank you. One member of staff in particular is always in touch with me as she has been poorly in the last few weeks but they keep me updated with all her care. Broadlands Park you have an amazing team, thank you so much.

Braydeston Court

from Yvonne B (Daughter of Resident) published on 2 December 2024

Braydestone Court is a bright and cheerful place. There is nice background music creating a relaxed atmosphere and activities to bring interest to each day. There are plenty of windows for natural light and views out to the garden. There are different areas downstairs that allow my mum to keep active
and move around safely.
Mum takes me to see her carers who she describes as lovely and the manager is accessible and reassuring.
Although I was very anxious to see my mum go into a care home, I can see by her smiling face and clean and tidy appearance that she is being well fed and looked after.
Kind regards.

My mother and father have both been residents at Broadlands for the past 18 months and overall I am very happy indeed with the care and genuine affection they have received from the small and dedicated team there.
Many larger care homes use a proportion of agency staff but at Broadlands the staff
are nearly all permanent and this has been a great help in helping my mother and father forge relationships with them and help them settle in.

My mum stayed at Broadland Park for 2 years as she had Alzheimer's, so my review is what a fabulous life she had being a resident at Broadlands Park.
The management and staff were amazing nothing was too much trouble. The cleanliness's was 100% perfect especially with two members of staff in particular
keeping everyone in order including my mum!
Mum's clothes were always clean with the ladies working very hard in laundry, the team looking after all the residents amazing.
The office staff always kept me informed with anything regarding mum which made me always feel mum's in good hands and I didn't have to worry.
Mum passed away 2 months ago but I really miss the whole team as I class them as friends. I shall be popping in just to say hello. I do hope this helps families if you need to put your loved ones into a care home.

My mother has been a resident for almost 3 years and over that time I have seen a gradual improvement in the appearance of the home through general maintenance and upgrading of facilities. Mum appears generally quite content with how she is looked after. She often comments on the food which more often
than not she likes and the standard of cleanliness, which has always been important to her. She engages with most staff and it's nice to see her smile when she recognises the staff she likes.
