Staff not trained in care/support of Alzheimer's, especially agency staff.
Lack of empathy. dignity and respect for resident.
Lack of communication between management and carers.
Name badges are not worn which is not helpful to someone who has Alzheimer's.
Bare minimum help given to the resident.

My mum lived at Margery Girling House for over 5 years. What a lovely place! Individual apartments, communal activities and great care. The staff are excellent and the place is well run. We always hoped that it would be Mum's home for the rest of her life, but sadly she had to move due to declining
health.

I have been touched by the care and dignity you showed Grandma while she lived at Sydney Brown Court. Grandma spoke highly of the staff who looked after her and gave her love and respect. Thank you for being an extended family to our beloved Grandma.

I came here in February 2023. I like living here. The carers are very helpful. I do use a wheelchair and have a problem to reach things in the kitchen. It would be lovely to have a chef here. My experience of Steeple View is good.

For nearly the last year, the staff at Sydney Brown Court provided a calm, comfortable and dignified home for my elderly grandmother. Warm, friendly and considerate, the staff took to my grandmother immediately, supporting her in her needs and being patient with her in her quirks. Moving out of the
house in which she had lived for decades was a momentous change but our entire family were delighted by how well she settled in and felt at home (complete with her own furniture). In her final weeks, the staff showed particular composure and earnestness, which was consoling during such a time of upheaval. A fine institution and credit to Hadleigh. Thank you all!

Most of the carers, and team leaders are brilliant but rushed off their feet more staff needed. Reliable, efficient, and caring is the best-assisted home care I have ever seen. My dad is my life and this place takes a lot of stress and worry off my mind. I am disabled and live far away and this place
lets me stay when I come up which is brilliant for my dad.

The cleanliness and personal hygiene of the resident is poor. I visit once a week. My brother is always wearing dirty clothes, he refuses to shower, he doesn't wash his hair or clean his teeth. His flat often smells of urine. If this problem could be resolved I would give Levington Court 10/10.

Beaumont House

from S K (Daughter of Resident) published on 3 March 2023

My mum was a resident of Beaumont House for five years. She loved being there from day one. She was happy to know that she was secure and well cared for. Her fear was that if she became dependent and needed more care she would have to move. This last year she has become frailer and did indeed need extra
care. Beaumont House was wonderful they cared for mum up to the day she passed away. We as a family are grateful that she was able to stay in her 'forever home'!

My dad has been at Beaumont House since October 2022. The team have been amazing throughout, going above and beyond to support us with Dad's increasing needs. He is so happy there and loves all of the staff. They also provide support to us as his family with good communication of his needs. Could not
recommend them more! The manager and the team go above and beyond to make sure Dad is well looked after, has the best care and, most of all is happy. They have put so much in place to ensure Dad can stay in his home for as long as possible. The care and attention from the team are more than ever could be expected or asked for. A true family environment.

It is a beautiful home with individual personal flats. Fully fitted kitchen. Bathrooms are wet rooms.
Nice and secure. I feel very safe here.
Care staff really do care.
Help if needed, 24 hours a day for any emergency. Which gives real peace of mind.
I have been here since August and everyone
I meet is really friendly and welcoming.
I call this my safe happy home for life.

Beaumont House

This year I have become more acquainted with Beaumont House since the passing of my brother and am deeply grateful to the Manager and her professional and attentive staff for their exceptional care of my remaining sister-in-law. She is 74 with mobility/cognitive issues making life exceedingly difficult
but because of their patience and understanding I know I can rely on them to look after her. They are always available by phone or e-mail, and nothing is too much trouble. Beaumont House offers an independent, warm and friendly environment with a restaurant facility, a communal comfortable lounge with TV /Video and 24-hour care and security. It is clean and well maintained with pleasant gardens that can easily be accessed. Some local supermarkets are a few minutes walk away and can also be safely approached by mobility scooter. The visitor's parking is free and only a short walk from the main building. I can highly recommend Beaumont House.

As a family, we have all been very impressed with the high level of kindness, care and respect shown by all the staff at Sydney Brown Court. We can honestly say that nothing is too much trouble. Our mother has thrived since living here and is now happy and safe. It has also given her dignity, which
the alternative of living alone at home or in a residential care home could not provide. She is settled and content in her warm flat with her own familiar bits and pieces and also enjoys the garden. It's a great relief to not feel worried and know that we made the right decision to give Mum a very good quality of life.

My parents moved here a few years ago, and the care has been magnificent. The staff are always positive, friendly and professional, and it's very comforting to my sister and me since my father died that Mum is in such good hands.

My mother suffers with severe dementia and related health problems, making her ongoing care difficult and complicated. The caring staff at all levels at Sydney Brown Court, have always cared for my mother extremely well, in a respectful and friendly way and have gone out of their way to be friendly
and informative with me and my wife. Thank you for all your support.

I regularly get the impression that the primary focus is about money and not care at all. The staff at WWH house come and go (apart from those who have nowhere else to go). Just this year alone, my 89-year-old mother had an oven that broke and waited over a month for a replacement. We reported
a huge stain on the bathroom ceiling to which they stated it was a leak that had been fixed but never any offer to make good.
As Power of Attorney, all invoices should come through me but they still disregard this instruction (Orwell finance) and cause unnecessary upset to an 89-year-old lady.
I always get the impression they do not care at all.

My father has been in Sydney Brown Court for 18 months -12 of then during lockdown.
He has been well looked after, and all of the staff have been very attentive to his needs at all times, night and day. He has had lots of falls, and someone has always sat with him until medics arrived. They are always
happy, despite being overworked and underpaid! They love my dad and are always there for him, which is great for the family.

All staff are very pleasant and helpful. The carers are all willing to help and some will go that extra mile to make one happy and comfortable. Life has not been easy during lockdown but they have come on duty regardless, with a smile.
